Where did you buy it from I’m debating between 4 & 5 . I thought about 3 to then decided not to because I figure updates will stop sooner on that one. I’ll spend a bit more for 3 more years of updates.

My Apple Watch 3 has been awesome. After 2 years I’m still getting 32 hours of battery life. That’s obviously not a full 2 days but on the rare occasion that I forget to charge my watch it at least makes it to around 17:00 on the 2nd day. Apart from some new faces and a heart monitor the series 3 is just as good as my wife’s series 4. I have the cash to buy the 5 but honestly I’m finding it hard to justify it as I mainly use my watch to track my exercise and make sure I never miss a work call. The best thing about the Apple watches is that you could buy the series 3,4 or 5 and be totally satisfied with your purchase.

When you were talking about Siri coming on when you didn’t want it to, I had the same problem. I changed Siri to press Digital Crown, so it’s not annoying. I love the noise app also. Gets very noisy in the plant room at work.

For the $130 price at Walmart was well worth it compared to the 4 or 5. I mainly am using it as a fitness tracker and since I am in the Apple Ecosystem it just makes sense for its other provided conveniences it offers.
I've had the series 3 for about a year now and it seems to run just as fast as it did out of the box. I'll probably upgrade when the 6 comes out.

I could understand it being an inconvenience for the elderly if they suffer from carpal tunnel or even a regular person who keeps making that repetitive movement more often than normal, it can cause them to have tendinitis. For me personally though, it was never an issue cause I assumed everyone had to turn their wrist even with a regular watch as well. Maybe the people who are complaining about it have a more straightened wrist compared to my twisted one? Who knows 😂 now I feel like researching

Always on display would probably be the only reason i would get the series 5. So if i would have to turn it off to save battery i would just stick to my series 3 as long as it still updates the os or dies.
I got my wife the Series 3 for Christmas this year. She's been using a Fitbit tracker, but she got her first Iphone over a year ago and I thought it would be a good pairing. Watching this, I'm still glad I got her the series 3, because some of the other features wouldn't be things she would use and it's going to be a huge shift from a Fitbit to an Apple Watch, so I think this will make the transition a little easier for her. I'll let you know how it goes :) Great review!

I choose the 5 for the smoother look.. happy so far ..For me being able to play music with pods in work and having messages reach me while having my phone away safe is worth it.. but definitely an expensive bit of kit..
Just two days ago I bought the Apple Watch Series 3 and I am satisfied, in my country the cell version does not work so I have the GPS, the new functions of the Apple Watch Series 5 are really not necessary, excellent video

The new always on feature is a deal breaker ,it’s what a Watch should be ,if u can afford both then the 5 is a no brainer

I wanted the 3 for the price but the 5’s extra features sold me when I went to check them out at the store. Very first Apple Watch I own, never thought I needed one, and I find myself using it a lot. Happy with my purchase

I know I have the series 1 and I wish I could downgrade the OS back to Watch OS 4. It’s really bad on Watch OS 6 and was bad on 5 too.
MonkeyMan mines still on OS5 and the lag drives me crazy so I’m just gonna upgrade to the Series3

I have a series 2. I track my workouts 5-6 times a week and receive lots of slack and calendar notifications. don't do any outbound communications. Have noticed lately that the watch is slowing down. Also want more complications on my primary watch face. This video was great for a user like me, thank you!

For 38mm GPS
I got the 3 and it works great. It’s fast no lag . Cool displays you can choose from and colors . You can text fast and easy and call. It’s worth the couple hundred bucks.
Still using my original Apple Watch Series 0 Stainless Edition 42mm. I would get the Series 4 from a third party sellers over the Series 5.
I went from an Apple Watch 1 that was still functioning in June 2020 to the Apple Watch 5 - it was a huge leap forward in technology

We just got Fitbit Charge 4. I'm not that big on exercise but I use it to monitor sleep. If the battery on the Series 5 won't last overnight, it can't be used for sleep monitoring. Your take on this?
Jim Center Hey. Well for me I actually didn’t get the series 5 because I just bought a new iPhone instead because my phone was having problems. I opted for the Series 3 instead because of its similar features and way cheaper price. I bought it about 2 weeks ago and I love it. I still use my charge 3 tracker for sleep tracking and swim tracking because I don’t want my Apple Watch in the water because it’s more expensive, so I do still use my Fitbit a bit. The Apple Watch is great though for controlling music, playing music, texting etc.
@@zacharyallen4825 Thanks for the answer, I'd planned on waiting til series 6 hoping that battery life would be improved and Apple would have a "native" sleep monitoring app like fitbit. How often do you need to charge your watch? When fitbit advertised the O2 saturation monitoring, I jumped on it cause my wife has O2 saturation issues. I'm happy with fitbit and although my iphone 7+ is getting old, it's still working. I was thinking new iPhone next version and now with the new fitbit I may put off the new watch till series *! Stay safe!
Jim Center For me, I have the 38mm size series 3 gps model and it normally lasts me up to 3 days. I charge it every night anyways when I go to bed ( I Charge everything I own at night everyday) It’s normally at 70% battery by the end of the day so it could last me up to 4 days if I wanted. I normally look at the Watch a bunch of times per day, I do workouts on it, I control music and text people on it etc and the lowest the battery has been after 1 day of use was 65%. So it lasts a very long time

Fran Hughes isn’t that obvious. Every single iPhone and Apple Watch is better then the model it replaced. That’s the whole point of a new model...it’s better.
I think the point of this video is just to justify cost. Since you have the means to get every new one, that doesn’t seem to be something you’d even have to consider.

You didn't cover battery life other than to say about the always on affecting the battery. How do they compare?
I upgraded a few days ago form the largest series 3 to the largest series 5 and the battery life is very similar. It drains only slightly faster than the 3 but it’s barely noticeable. The 5 still easily lasts a day and can even last me 2. My boss’s series 5 was shocking for battery life and he had to turn off the always-on display. That might be due to some people having a software bug but that seems to be fixed in the upcoming watchOS 6.2. Hope this helps!

I just had an open heart surgery and I thought since I must be careful with monitoring my heart condition, that an apple watch might be the answer. I thank you for all the information, to help me make a choice. The better heart monitor in the apple 5 seems to be a more logical choice, thanks

Well, I'm a time geek. I really appreciate that Apple watch may be synchronized with atomic clock so it won't let you be late anywhere you want to go. I use my aw5 to check the time, of course, also to check my heart rate. On the the other hand, aw5 is used by me to listening the music or talking with friends via phone using airpods. Never thought I would be able to admire that stuff! 🙂 I prefer 5 to 3 version.

I had a series 2 stainless steel and finally broke the screen. I went in to see what the price to fix was and the guy was generous by quoting me $210 to replace the adhesive and screen. I’m better off upgrading to a more current model

Excellent video! One I’d definitely recommend watching if you’re unsure whether to spend the extra money on the Series 5. For me personally, I purchased the Series 3 because a) it was cheaper; and b) the only things I really do on the watch are tracking my exercise (through Strava), telling the time and checking notifications. I doubt I’d find myself using the extra features/taking advantage of the faster processor in the Series 5.
I have the series 5 and I chose this because of the thinner base size and design etc. Feels better than the 3 series.

I got the 5 for the extra space. With 32gb I can put all of my audio books and lots of music. Only the GPS version is available in NZ so being able to download lots of content is important to me. I think the series 3 is also a great watch.👍 Good video

Worth adding the new compass does make a major upgrade in Maps, it now shows the direction you are walking which can be an issue sometimes with the 3 when you lose direction.

Lost my cellular 3 I’ve had since launch. Insurance upgraded me to series 5 at no extra cost since they don’t make the stainless steel series 3 anymore. Excited for the upgrade. Probably wouldn’t have bought a series 5 though unless I didn’t have any Apple Watch

Sofia Roelli It depends on what you can afford at the end of the day. The series 5 has more features, but it seemed to me that the features are some that I would never use like ECG. The compass is a good addition, but not worth the $200 price difference. Series 3 is great at tracking workouts, reminding you to move around every now and then and it is also water resistant and tracks swims (although I’m unable to do that because all the pools are closed).
A new series watch will release every year, and the 3 will stop getting support and updates soon, I’m afraid. I hope I can get a few good years with this thing.

I have the Apple Watch series 3 and I’ve had it for a few months now. I like it and I don’t think it’ll be worth it to get the 5 🤷🏾♀️ I use it mainly for texting (if I can’t use my phone for whatever reason) the occasional phone call, and my activity. I don’t see the point in getting the 5, I’ll just upgrade in a few years

Well the S1 and S2 received the latest watchOS which is meant for the S5 and they handle it pretty well. So the S3 should be future proof for a good while
If you like the bigger display, I'd grab a 4 if you could. There's really no difference between the 4 and 5.

Always on display is not a deal breaker, Samsung just release an update to include always on display to the older version, to me is a shame to Apple to think always on display is a dealbreakers. No sleep tracking shame to Apple compass mimic

Bought the 3 GPS on 4th February 2020, planning to upgrade to 6 GPS if i get good grades (because i have a earn to get what i want.) Really wanted the cellular version because i’m not a sporty person but with cellular it just pushes me to exercise and loose some weight.
