Bayonetta 1 has such an atmosphere to it. Feels like a real world you’re visiting. Something about it is not ever captured in the sequels. I love all 3.
I kind of disagree, I felt like it was focused on having a "game" atmosphere, like... Less cinematic and immersive than the others, I felt like 1 and 2 added so much to it, like, i almost forgot I was playing a game in the last 2 but the 1's constant game clichets reminded me every now and then that it's a videogame
You aren’t alone in thinking this, it’s almost like the franchise is slightly embarrassed by some elements of the first and have softened them up a bit. That or something else like a focus on mass marketability has altered it some. Still fantastic games all around.
@@brady9592 yk what, i fully believe that the director of bayo 2 simply understood the assignment when it came to the camp, sass and overall story that the franchise had. from the OPENING act ALL the way down to the ending, it was the best among the three (bayo 1 in the second) but ! gameplay wise, bayo 3 amplifies the serious mode in 1 + further expands on the power of Umbran Climax in 2. i liked the multiverse concepts but they couldn't exactly fill EEAAO's perspective on life (based on singularity's line that feel closer to jobu tupaki's view on things) but does more than what marvel did with Multiverse of Madness.
the thing i love and is one of the reasons bayo 1 is my fav is that the atmosphere feels vintage and i like how all the games reflect the right time periods except 3 that doesnt have a set period in bayo 1 its clearly the past while bayo 2 is more in line with the present
bayonetta 1’s final boss was by far the best. it was the most satisfying. i love all three games but bayo 1 will always have a special place in my heart
I feel like Bayo 1 flowed together really well in displaying who Bayonetta is, with sexy animations and cutscenes while lacing in its plot and story pretty nicely. Haven’t finished Bayo 3 yet, but at least in terms of story, I think Bayo 1’s story has been much better overall tbh
I love Bayo 1 but combat wise I think 2 had it the best. It still kept the atmosphere of the first game but the Umbran Climax and still deciding to use torture attacks instead of the climax really made it interesting. Bayo 3 kinda took away from that with taking torture attacks away which can now only be caused via the stunning of enemies through your demon slave which requires you to use Demon Slave in order to get access to a field of the game that wasn't locked before in the previous games. I love Demon Slave, but, I think they should have made it more of a talent where you gotta pick between either Demon Slave or Umbran Climax.
oof, i have heard that the ending is really bad i fear. only on like chapter 5 or so and the storytelling just hasn’t been it imo. i’ll think a bit about finishing it tho
@@nomight273 my opinion is invalid because i have yet to play it but tbh it feels like bayo1 combat has been just remade which makes me sad cause bayo 1 made me feel like a bad ass once i learned the combat properly
"1 had the most satisfying combat" yeah cuz bayo 1 combat is the most balance in the series to enemies to bayo's move set and harder combat wise and harder to master too in bayo 2 still great tho is easier to bypass some combat mechanics especially using umbran climax with large wicked weaves to summoned attacks hit boxes in bayo 3 still fun a hell combat i notice it's much more cater to casual which is good bringing new player to the series but it's easier to cheese, spam and abuse many moves and abilities more mini games ,viola's meh combat than bayo and convoluted story worsen the replayability of the game
Totally agree, the performance issues are definitely a bummer, but because of the flow of the game it really dosent detract from the overall feeling of gameplay to much. I only had 1 time where it was so bad it dropped to probably 20-25 fps for a solid second or two and then gradually climbed its way back up. And overall the combat and levels in Bayo 3 are so much better that even with the performance problems on very very slight occasions, I feel like it’s the best game overall. I just replayed 1 and 2 before 3 came out, and I had sooo much fun playing 3, personally I think that means the most when talking about the different spectrums of games
@@KuribohdudalalaWatch videos/tutorials of how to play Bayo3, youre able to launch and combo mobs in this game unlike Bayo2. Demons are tough to get used to, but thats why you play the game and learn it overtime and not just buttonmash like bayo2
I think Bayo 3s character design is the weakest of the 3, with 1 being the best. The skirt and pigtails makes her look like a school girl imo. The suit in 2 is my favorite with the shoulder pads and blue motif, but overall I love the ribbon and body suit of Bayo 1 the most. Good video though.
Bayo 1 has the best music and overall atmosphere; Bayo 2 is the best visually and overall brings the characters more to life; Bayo 3 (Although I haven’t finished yet) overall has most dynamic combat system, gives many options for fighting
Have you ever notice that in Bayonetta 3 the action is way more zoomed out? In Bayonetta 1 and 2 the camera zoomed in when you did torture attacks, giving extra satisfaction to it. In the third game torture attacks don't feel the same. Maybe that's just me.
I love all three of these games but my favorite is bayonetta 1. I LOVE the music in this game and the combat is so much fun. I also love her outfit and hairstyle best in this game.
@Good For Nutting literally it felt like the volume was being turned off and the reason i dont like 3 as much as 1 and 2 is because it all feels too serious and im not seeing enough confident bayo kicking ass in her sexy way thats why i dislike the new dancing it doesnt feel like bayonetta it feels weird and goofy instead of sensual and iconic
Bayonetta 2's my favourite of the trilogy. It's a straight upgrade from 1 in almost every way and while 3 has higher highs, it's also got lower lows and I won't spoil anything but I can't look past some of those lows. There's also a matter of preferred gameplay style here since 3 has amazing combat but changes some things I quite enjoyed, such as weapon loadouts and Torture Attacks. There is 2 more thing that struck out to me when comparing the games and that's tutorials and progression. 1 and 2 have obtrusive tutorials but they get the point across while 3 has small pop-ups that are easily missed but don't break the flow of gameplay. It's definitely a matter of personal preference but I think 1 and 2 do a better job at communicating the core mechanics, whereas 3 can blindside you if you forget to hit + as soon as a new sequence begins. Although, with how many gameplay styles 3 has, I don't think the practice voids and menus would've worked in 3 anyway. But as for progression, 1 had you buy most upgrades with some being awarded for story progression. 2 is purely store bought. And 3 is mostly story progression with a skill tree system. 3, of course, takes this by a landslide. The new abilities awarded by the skill tree are very nice and it's nice to get some story reasons as to why Bayonetta is getting some new tools. It also means you can buy items and rewards without needing to worry about having enough for vital techniques like Bat Within or After Burner Kick.
Bayonetta 1 IMO is my favourite in the entire series. I played it again recently after finishing the witch trials in Bayo 3. The combat in 1 has more style and swag and it’s story is probably the best out of the three.
Fun video! I hate having to choose the best in a series like this, because every game is an absolute masterpiece and they all deserve to be played. However, it is fun to dissect them and see what strengths each one has over its siblings as long as no one takes it too seriously. I think the first one has the best music, because not only is it amazing, but it's key tracks are continued to be used throughout the series (Let's Dance Boys, especially) and they never get old. Also, I think if you were to have a category for graphics/art, then Bayo 2 would win that, since it's levels are more colorful and polished than 1 and 3's. The combat has been iterated and improved upon in every game, so naturally the newest game has the best combat as it has all the good stuff of its predecessors, while also adding a ton of new features and weapons. At the end of the day, it's great having a series like this where every game is a complete banger and they all bring their own charm to an amazing series.
Bayonetta 2 for me, it has quite a simple but great story and a nice ending to boot while setting the events for bayonetta 3 to happen, genuinely loved the entire simple story and would have expected bayo 3 to go the same route but sadly it didn't
It's honestly really hard to say which Bayonetta game is the best, if you are a casual most likely bayo 2 and 3 are your favorites since the games are way less complex and hard compared to bayo 1 and the special of those two games is clearly better than bayo 1 but if you love complex combat that greatly rewards you for mastering it then bayo 1 is a clear choice it's way harder than the other games and is just so rewarding it doesn't have the problem of bayo 2 where the combat is watered down and the only way to good damage is with umbran climax or Bayonetta 3 problem of forcing you to use demon slaves to get a pure platinum. Bayonetta 1 clearly loses in the graphics but it's a game made in 2009 and with the graphics it does have its really impressive of course not better than bayo 2 but still impressive. Over all its really hard to say which Bayonetta game is the best most people hate how hard bayo 1 is for the casual player but most casual players will never want to learn the very very in depth combat while bayo 2 gets complaints from the hard-core players of the combat being really bad compared to 1 but it is a way more beginner friendly for casuals and has better graphics and honestly bayo 3 .... it's to early to decide, most hard-core players at the very least think it's better than bayo 2 since it brought back some of the deep combat and casuals seem to love demon slaves.
You can't say 3 isn't complex when it JUST came out. The game has way more mechanics and pros are already finding cool stuff you can do with the demo. Summoning mechanic.
i think your take is the best so far, coming from a “hardcore” player. it certainly seems to be better than 2 but nothing will ever compare to 1.. and it’s not just a combat thing either, the whole vibe of the franchise is off.
@@EclecticBarbie YESSSSS EXACTLY THE VIBE OF THE ENTIRE GAME WAS SO OFF from minor things like the missing iconic pole dance credits, to bayonettas serious tone and very odd dances to the ending that felt like it robbed bayonetta of her glory from previous games this all feels watered down while still i will say its very cool it just does not match up with the bayonetta vibe like the other games
In terms of combat system, Bayo 1 hands down is still the best and thats what makes me keep coming back to it. I was honestly hoping that they would go back to b1 combat and fix what they broke in 2 lol but oh well.
I liked Bayo 1's weapons more than Bayo 2's but 2s combat was more forgiving for me. 3 has weapons that are as cool if not cooler than Bayo 1s and the old combat mechanics are tighter than ever, but the new mechanics are a mixed bag. I also like 3s costumes the best with 2 as a close second. The addition of changing your hair and outfit colors though is amazing and J-pop Bayo has my whole heart ❤
@@millabasset1710 tbh I think the worst part of 2 was how the entire game was kinda rebalanced around umbran climax and witch time especially the ranking scores, and how some of the enemies in 2 have LIGHTNING quick attacks with no sound cue or just a generic sound effect, really made getting pure platinums in that game a pain in the ass. Bayo 1 was unforgiving as hell I will admit but if you did fuck up it was ur fault (minus those GOD AWFUL random QTEs sprinkled in) and you coulda prevented it if you were skilled enough, some things in 2 just feel luck based tbh. 😭
I have a lot of issues with 3. I felt it was a very mixed bag. Some thing's really bugged me such as only being able to equip one weapon instead of one each for your hands and feet. It felt toned down in comparison to the older games with the gore as well. Whilst fighting the Humunculai I found myself just wishing for angels. Serious lack of inspiration when it came to the unlockable costumes in 3 like seriously disappointing. I did love Hales portrayal of the character however, every weapon was fun to play with as were the demon masquerades and I did find the ending to be pretty satisfying.
I also love the gameplay in 3 and how different characters you can create when mixing the costumes and weapons. I just feel 3 is not as cool and gory as the second and first games, but it’s most fun. I just think 3 should get a little more polish-like Cassiopeia ink effects on the floor gets broken, Abrakadabra electricity effect is too visible that it’s a flat texture, the water train drives flat on every surface, her gliding feels weird and she looks like a rock when drifting. I love 3 overall, but it should get some fixes.
@@kagemara277 totally agree, I feel like 3 was definitely made for newer fans than it was for existing fans. It felt like a watered down bayo experience. My main issue is the way weapons are equipped. Not being able to combine weapons into different combinations really bugged me. It's song I'm finding it very difficult to get over tbh. I also found the areas themselves to be pretty boring. The first two had this beautiful gothic architecture and it was a bit jarring going from these mental places to like... Paris and Shibuya.
@@daviecampbell8644 I just finished Bayo 3 twice. Overall I have to say that it’s super fun, but I have my reservations. Overall, I think the main villain is more interesting than Aesir, because in 3 it’s a super advanced nano machine AI that creates a single purpose for all life and absolute control as opposed to infinite variable in the world of humans/Chaos. So the AI eliminates thousands of paths and so the characters from other universes start to resonate between each other stronger- I actually like it more the more I play it. I think Bayo3 still has better gameplay and world design than DMCV which was super bland and boring. B3 has awesome weapons and it’s so creative. I do mind some technical issues, but overall each Bayo game is quite unique. This way I love to replay all 3 games equally. Even though I miss the atmosphere of 1 and brutal gory gameplay of 2, 3 is actually really fun. I kept combining different weapons with different costumes and the variety is great. I think even if I miss the weapon combos from 1&2, we have the demon masquerade and each weapon has a long range mode too-so it’s compensated in another way. I just feel they could create a weapon wheel, so I can swap to any weapon mid combo if I want, because swapping just between two is limiting.
Tbh I don’t really mind the reduced weapon customization, I think it allowed them to customize the movesets of each weapon more and I think it was a fair trade off considering all the new combo options added with the demons and such
@@bonelesscommunism4031 yeah I must admit I've replayed it twice since my comment and my opinion is slowly changing, i think it was just a shock to the system tbh. I still feel like the second game was leading to some big event involving the angels and demons which never really materialised. All in all the game is growing on me but I dunno if I would say it's better than the second one.
Bayonetta 3 is my favorite and it's not even close. The combat options are insane and it's a huge step up from the atrocity that was bayonetta 2 combat. The weapons are also amazing
Bayonetta 1 is the best. It have the best combat, technically a deeper system that is more satisfying to master and play. With each iteration it became more mainstream and button smasher. Sure Bayonetta 3 have a lot of cool things you can do, but it's more casual. Story and character, both 1&2 are great. 3 was bad, there was no good dialogue or character interactions that show cased their personalities. They either act out of character or doing some cringing stuff, and not in the good fun cringe. Viola is a mix bag, people seem to hate or love her. I'm neutral, wouldn't miss her or excited if the next game feature her or not. Bayonetta 1 have the best level design and artistic direction. The color might be muted but the architect looked great, you can sense the artists' vision. Also, how some stages are set up, they created some interesting interactions and platforming that add to the experience. Bayonetta 3 have big, plain, boring, generic levels that doesn't seem to have any artistic vision. Just a bunch of random assets drop into the map. Those big maps and puzzles don't fit the game fast pace action either. Bayonetta 1 have the best enemy design, both in how they look and fight. The boss battles were memorable. The fights with Jeanne is arguably one of the best fights in gaming history. 2 have some nice fights, but 3, I don't recall anything and I just beat it the 2nd time. The enemies just felt all the same. Although the infernals that we control in 3 do look sick! I love the sound track of all 3. I like the look of Bayonetta in the first game the best. She looked more like a witch and a dominatrix. In part 3 they changed her proportion to be closer to real anatomy and her facial structure to look more cutesy. And those tik tok dance moves...I don't know. I don't hate it, but it just seem out of character.
Imo bayonetta 3 is the best. It has all of the good qualities of bayo 1 but adds so much more. Bayo 2 combat is unbalanced because of uc and is the weakest of them all. As far as story... I'd say bayo 2 because it just follows bayo 1, which is a good setup whether p+ meant it or not. Imo bayo 3 is best design. It's hard to pick because all are AMAZING. Jeanne has the best fit in bayo 1 tho, don't know what they were doing with these colors in B3.
Agree with this. I completed the first few chapters of Bayo 3 and it felt unrewarding each fight encounter. The demons do not add depth to the gameplay, it feels more like a gimmick. Also the camera in 3 is horrible, due to the stages being so big. You dont get that sense of doing all your combos and dodges because the camera is so far from the action. I went back and installed Bayo 1 on PC and wow such a night an day difference, Bayo 1 is superior in almost every way. The graphics are even comparable to the new one. Then I played Bayo 2 emulated on PC and once again night and day difference from 3. It takes things from 1 and refines them. All in all Bayo 1 and 2 are much better than 3 in all aspects.
Bayonetta 1 - 10/10 Bayonetta 2 - 9.5/10 Bayonetta 3 - 5/10 Bayonetta 1 has the best story. Gameplay and level design in both Bayonetta 1 and 2 are perfect. Bayonetta 3 has very weak story, gameplay isn't fun and levels... they are just huge and empty.
I'm really not a fan of the Demon Slave mechanic. I find that is causes way too much visual noise, and half the enemies in the game are designed so you basically can't fight them without the aid of a demon. I think Bayo's base gameplay is almost perfect and Demon Slave takes away from it.
I could see any of these games making a remake point, but I’d want to see it for Bayo 1 the most because it’s such a great title, and deserves the attention it never got. I would prefer that to a Bayo 4 tbh
1. All the games are great 2. Jennifer Hale does a fantastic job voicing Bayonetta. Now that's out of the way.... I feel Bayo 1 was a labor of love. Game is fantastic. Still my favorite. Most originality, combat is the most challenging and the story was so wild it was groundbreaking. Bayo 2 feels like a proper follow up although I feel the combat was dulled down and the character didn't feel as edgy. Bayo 3 feels like it needed more time to develop. I'm about half way through and doesn't feel quite on par with the others
I'm not a hack/slash fan but I fell in love with the character/story of Bayonetta back when the 1st launched. So naturally my opinion is different, but I was very disappointed by Bayo 3. Combat is great but the story...the continuity...the lack of lore. At least as it stands now it is my least favorite. They had such rich lore that they expanded on in the first two games, kinda a shame they threw that all away.
mhh… issue is that the 2nd game doesn’t come close to the quirkiness of the 3rd and especially the first game imo (aside from the intro sequence at least, you can’t say anything regarding this aspect), so I personally wasn’t really satisfied after finishing the game, but that may be subjective
Bayo1 Story and combat/combo system Bayo2 Aesthetics and graphics Bayo3 Content Sorry but the combat and combo system in Bayo1 is deep, the skillceiling is the highest of the trilogy and the Jeanne boss fight is unmatched. And i can f*ing see what's happening on screen in Bayo1, I think it's kinda important in action games
I haven't played Bayonetta 3 yet, but I think you summed up the strengths of the first two very well. The skill ceiling and combat system in Bayo 1 is just better. I also think 1 has better costumes as well
Same here dude it's like a refined Bayonetta, as opposed to 3 maybe because voice acting threw me off and because technically but not the same character its Cereza
Yeah 2 was the most refined if demon slave was added to 2 it would take the cake.....the ending for 3 killed the game for me despite how fun it was....but all bayo games make you smile while playing them....bayo2 also always granted access to climax attacks where some parts in 3 you can't summon demons
the only thing i hate about bayonetta 3 are the contents are less, like jeanne is not available to play in every chapters like before. and there is no coop mode like in bayo 2, and the villain is kinda meh, i hope they add a patch or DLC for this and this is gonna be the best bayonetta game ever.
Interesting analysis you made for each part, regarding the soundtrack section I'd also agree that bayo 2 is the best, my reasons is that not only seems like a nartural progression over the first game but also unlike bayo 3, all the tracks fit perfectly, don't take me wrong is not that i dislike the rock-pop style of viola but because is so different to rest of the regular soundtrack of the series it feels kinda out of place, same with those tracks that are similar to astral chain, is a nice reference but i don't feel it mix too well with the style the previous games got us used
I think Bayonetta 1 is the most challenging, original, and ground breaking. Bayonetta 2 is a great sequel, but it was made for new comers and sales. Bayonetta 3 missed the essence of the first two incorporating new characters and playing modes. It’s also unbelievable that the last game has worse performance and graphics than the first release.
Bayonetta 1 was my introduction and solidified Bayo as one among my top favorites, and is always a replay I'm willing to commit to. Still trying to get to the same point with 2, and haven't played 3 yet, so.... gotta go with 1
Never played to 1 and 2 but I bought 3 recently and I loved it a lot. I didn't enjoy to play a new game in a long time, this game is really good and I love everything about it. The demons are amazing, the fighting system too, the Jeanne game, Bayonetta's look/voice 😍 I had some very great moments. I wish it was longer maybe, the end came too soon as it was so good
love your take, and honestly love all three games on their own and together. I do like how each game shows Cereza getting stronger and stronger as 3 is her at the peak of her power.
I disagree as in my opinion Bayonetta 3 is hands down unnegotiably the worst, the fact that they switched up the weapons mechanic was so ridiculous to me, and how they fucked up a storyline that badly was just insane to me, it had the least fun combat, the Jean sections were pretty bad, Viola was annoying and they should have given her her own spin-off game instead of forcing us to play as her in my opinion, also Bayonetta dying at the end and being with Luca was so weird and now in Bayonetta 4 they either have to retcon something or we have to play as Viola the entire
I just think it's bayonnetta 1 that wins this it,s just such a statement and the characters have such good arcs I just feel like the final boss was a bit lackluster
i know it seems like spoiler heavy to talk about the bosses and companion characters, but just talking about the overall feel of bosses and the general plot and gameplay uses of companion characters could’ve evened out the competition more
Best bosses are from 1, enemy design for 3, companions 1, and the characters design... thats up to whoever is playing honestly. For me, my favorites are from 2, specially rosa and rodin.
I'd guess most people watching this video are Bayonetta fans, so you should've talked about the things considered spoilers. And I disagree on a lot of things. Bayonetta 3 has more different environments, but they look more generic and less detailed, so I'd give the point to B2. Characters who had interesting personalities in previous games weren't presented with the same care in B3 (especially Luka) because of the rushed feeling in this game - the multiverse already starts at risk and the characters don't have enough time to interact like they did in previous games, the villain is the worst one in the series, and Viola's goofy personality didn't go down well with everybody, so I would also give the point to B2. Also, B3 is the one that runs worst, so I'd also take out one point from it. I really like B3, but it was not as much as an improvement from B2 as I hoped.
Bayo 1 is still the one I keep coming back to years later, regardless of its flaws or how many times I've played it. Bayo 1's combat is both tight and challenging, and neither of the follow-up games fully managed to replicate that feel for me. Bayo 2 introduced some unnecessary mechanical tweaks that made the combat significantly more restrictive. Bayo 3's combat is great it its own right, but the spectacle, fun as it may be, creates way too much visual noise for my liking. The camera already struggles with mobs that include gigantic enemies, so having huge controllable summons and trying to keep track of Bayo herself really doesn't help. Story-wise, I'd say the first two games are on par with each other, especially with how the sequel fleshed out certain existing characters and created a time loop. Bayo 3 had lots of exciting ideas but didn't realize any of them to their full potential, not to mention it feeling more like a detour rather than a continuation of the series. (Viola was severely underdeveloped - her "hype" moments and the ending felt forced and unearned. Her contribution to the finale was getting slapped around by Singularity AGAIN and then being handed over Bayo's mantle for no reason. Luka being a werewolf, a faerie, AND the Arch-Adam should've been left of the cutting room floor because it bordered on fanfiction-level idiocy. Bayonetta just standing around and waiting for her variants to get killed made no sense.) When it comes to visuals, I also prefer Bayo 1 & 2. Conceptually, Bayo 3's cinematics are still crazy, but the final product lacks the oomph, and the facial animations & lip-sync somehow came out significantly worse than the original that's over a decade old. Character design-wise, I'll take the laser-sharp focus of the first two as well. Bayo 3 is a mixed bag where it seems like Platinum just mashed together every single idea they had. Sometimes it works, sometimes it looks like a jumbled mess. The conversion to 3D didn't do many of Mari Shimazaki's designs justice because a lot of her original concepts look fantastic. Bayo 3's environments essentially being these big plain arenas to accommodate for the summons is a logical sacrifice, however it gave me very unpleasant DMC2 flashbacks. I would've preferred something denser and more detailed - ideally, a happy medium between the first two games and Bayo 3. So yeah, I adore Bayo 1. Bayo 2 might've casualized the combat, but it made up for that in other areas. Given how the first two games bleed into one another, it's really hard to separate them, and I believe they should be enjoyed as one continuous story. I guess what I find extremely disappointing about Bayo 3, is that PG had all the experience, tools, and fan feedback to create the best game in the series, but unfortunately Bayo 3's highs don't offset the awful lows imo. It needed better direction and execution.
I dunno, when I finally got Bayonetta 2 for the Switch and beat the story, I kept coming back to Bayonetta 1. There was something off about it, I couldn't put my finger on it. I wasn't sure if it was because I was so used to the PS2 controller. I'm considering, now that I beat Bayo 3's story, to go back to Bayo 2 and figure out what I may have missed.
Huh interesting. Yeah would definitely consider revisiting Bayo 2 now that you have beaten 3. You might be able to pinpoint what was off about it for you or maybe you will enjoy the game more than you did on your initial playthrough. Let me know if you decide to revisit the game :)
Your video was great, its exactly how a review should be, congrats and thank you for making this amaizing video 🥳🥳. Might also add that i share your opinions
Just letting you know, it made my decision way easier. I will start with Bayo 3 and will buy Bayo 1 for 10 bucks on Ps4 later down the line. Thanks for helping me a lot^^ thrilled to play my first Bayonetta game!
If you are interested in the Story I would start like they came out. Otherwise you could spoil yourself or dont understand some things. Because the great thing about the Story is that every game give you a big new plottwist/Interpretation about the Story of the game before and u would miss this experience.
I absolutely think Bayonetta 3 is the most fun when you’re Bayonetta. But I did not enjoy combat as Viola unfortunately. Also the story of Bayo 3 just wasn’t very good. Story isn’t a main reason to play a Bayonetta game, but I think Bayonetta 2 has the overall highest score for me when accounting all the elements that make a good game.
Bayonetta 3 was superb and the absolute best of the series imo. Then comes Bayonetta 1 and then Bayonetta 2, although sometimes I like 2 better because it had such a great setting and story, but there was so much anti-climatic parts in 2, I felt 1 was better overall. Combat-wise, hands down, 3 is the best, followed by 2, and then 1. Each game perfected the combat and added great additions to the mix. The variety of Demons and weapons in this game is the pinnacle. I loved Demon Slave which gave more prominence to the Demons at her disposal. For some reason, I kept forgetting about Demon Masquerade because I swear it takes long to charge that meter so I just ended up not using it and forgetting about it. But Viola's Demon Masquerade is supremely OP'd compared to Bayonettas. It almost makes the boss fights with Strider a complete cakewalk! I'm happy that 3 fixed alot of the issues I had with 2, the most important in that all of the cutscenes in 3 being actual scenes, not just still-scenes/pictures with them talking in the background, which 2 had way too much of and it really killed alot of action and impactful scenes in the game. It made me think that 2 didn't have a good budget or something. The only time 3 used the still-scenes/pictures was when Bayonetta views flashbacks of her other selves, which was good. Not to mention the level of style, excitement, design, and action choreography of the cutscenes in 3 was a much higher degree of quality than almost all of 2. I loved the Multiverse and it was a good move introducing this as it opens many doors for the series now and it perfectly fits in with the World of Chaos being well.....chaotic, which perfectly symbolizes the Multiverse. I loved the different locations this game had from Japan, to China, to Egypt, and then Paris. Seeing alternate Bayonettas, each leading different types of lives, but still kick-ass Umbras, was simply fantastic. Even the island of Thule was cool and I wish we had gotten to explore a little of the Altar of the Sky because it had a very majestic design and I liked how it had the Lumen Sage and the Umbra Witch statues and then across is the statue of Aesir within the Altar's core. All 3 Gods of the Trinity of Realities knew of the Multiverse and studied it on Thule. The story could've been a little more explored because it did feel like alot of important story elements were left out and not properly explained. I don't know if this was done on purpose or if it was convoluted to the point where they inevitably forgot/missed things. Maybe both??? Either way, Bayonetta's story was always a bit all over the place, but it was easier to understand 1 and 2's stories as opposed to 3. None the less, the story was engrossing imo and with the help of videos explaining things and having played through it 3 times, I understand it a lot better now! I don't know if this is just me, but I thoroughly enjoyed that the chapters felt longer in 3 than it did in 2. Each chapter in 3 , to me, had more content and exploration then most of the chapters in 2 and I really enjoyed exploring all the different environments. I hated how 2 had too many chapters where it was just literally 1 boss battle and then it's over, especially Chapter 6 in 2. Adding that 2 only had 16 chapters total, it made 2 feel incredibly short and cheap. I'm glad they decided not to do this again much in 3 and instead spread out the bosses more throughout the chapters. Not only did 3 have more bosses, but almost every boss battle in 3 was epic, exciting, and kept you on your toes. The only boss I felt that way about in 2 was the final Balder fight in Inferno. This game's Final Boss was incredibly epic and severely made up for the lackluster anti-climatic final boss in 2. And this game's soundtrack was the best in the series, with the Singularity Definition OST being the best final boss track in the series. Viola was a nice addition to the series, I have no issues with her and her Fairy Masquerade Rage was cool, but I still abhor her infuriating Witch Time activation! That's the only thing I don't like about her. The frame rate issues didn't bother me because this is the Switch and we all know it's not gonna give out the same stable quality as the PS4 or PS5 so, graphics and frame rate wise, this was never a problem for me. Yes I wish the game had been made for the PS4 or PS5 to get better graphics and frame rate, but I'm just grateful for Nintendo saving this franchise and allowing it to get to this awesome game being made. But if they ever released this on PS4 or PS5, I wouldn't say no to it. As for the ending, I personally loved it. The very beginning of the game showed the stakes being the highest it's ever been with Bayonetta from Viola's world getting killed by Singularity and that this game was going to be a major turning point in the series. That already told me that this wasn't going to end on a happy note with the extinction of alternate universes and Bayonettas dying all across the Multiverse being the backbone of it. What "Our Cereza" does, solo at first, in this final battle is grand and the ending was much more impactful because of it. As for Luka and her together, I have no issue with it because I never saw Jeanne as her lover, she was her sister/best friend. People saw there sexiness, innuendo, and lustful behavior as them hinting that they were in love with each other or maybe that Bayonetta was bisexual, I don't know and I don't care really. Imo, the sexiness, innuendo, and lustful behavior they express with each other is how they've always been, teasing and being proud of being sexy powerful women. You could interpret this either way you want, but whether she ended up with Jeanne or Luka, the other side would've raged and been angry so it's a lose-lose story element imo. Platinum just decided to go for Luka and that's fine with me. I also believe this game gives Luka more importance in the grand scheme of things otherwise there would be no point in him being in the series after the first game as then he would just be the comic relief character which is already Enzo so we don't really need another one. Sorry I know this is super long, but waiting 8 years for this game and having gotten to play through it 3 times now, I'm just beyond happy and satisfied with this series. I can't wait to see Bayonetta 4 in the future and I'm eager to see where and how they're gonna bring Bayonetta back. Viola saves her and Luka from Inferno or the Bayonetta from the first game's universe comes back into the mix. Who knows, but theres alot of possibilities and with the introduction to the Multiverse and Fairies, the future of the series is gonna be great!!!
Bayonetta 3 has rly good gameplay n special effects but Bayonetta's hairstyle sucks cuz it messes with her character design and doesn't match her personality
Story - B2>B1>B3 Gameplay - B3>B2>B1 Environment - B2>B3>B1 Hairstyle - B2>B1>B3 Characters - B2>B3 >B1 Soundtrack> B2>B1>B3 Other Catagories - Camp - B1>B2>B3 Weapons - B2>B3>B1 Voice Lines - B2>B1>B3 Lewkss - B3>B2>B1 Sound Effects - B2>B1>B3 I feel like people only like 1 because thats their first game of the three theyve played so they have more affinity towards it. But I would have to disagree. 2 had a better story. I like how it tied back to 1 and it made sense to me. 1 was too generic with the amnesia aspect. 3 has best gameplay. 2 is the most visually stunning of the three. I love 2's hairstyle. She looks sexier with that short hair and that look is just beautiful. Loki was the most enjoyable side character of the three games. the soundtrack DEFINITELY goes to 2. Tomorrow Is Mine and Moon River are just God tier. I believe other categories are in play. 1 and 2 had similar campiness, although 1 has slightly more. 2 had better weapons imo. Rakshasa and Alruna are just too satisfying. I find her voice lines in 2 more memorable than the rest. 3 gave LEWWWKKKSS. 2 had the most satisfying sound efects. When you land a wicked weave, its melody to the ears. B3 flopped when it came to sound effects. Her landing big hits werent satisfying at all.
Fly Surprised you don't mention Moon River is a remix, personally I prefer the original music to the remixes. Still great music but the original songs appeal a lot more.
One thing I can say is that bayo 2 have stages that are VERY replayable (I know it’s not a word) to specify I mean I can go back and play bayo 2 chapters all the time yet I can’t do that with bayo 3 which I’m very disappointed with. Probably can’t do that anymore because of how long the bayo 3 chapters are compared to bayo 2 and 1 but you have to KNOW the bayo games to understand what I’m saying lol
Agreed. The ending, new mechanics, loss of old ones and the character of Viola soured the whole experience for me and have no wish to replay 3 again though I would happily replay the other two any day
I really dislike bayo 2 for the numerous changes that change it implemented in regards to shorter witchtime, the ability for enemy to dodge out of it, forced to use umbran climax etc but I loved the lower use of QuickTime.
to me, playing bayo 3 was a really cool experience the story has a lot of plotholes i know but for some reason playing the game felt refreshing, this happens with every game but for me in 3 it happens the most. My fav game is bayo 3 I love this bayonetta's design, i understand why people don't but for me it's gorgeous and i love it. I also like the demon masquerade and how it looks a LOT
The 2nd is the best bta ever. The 1rst is a masterpiece. The 3rd is a full disappointment... It ruined the saga as god of War 2018 and 2022 ruined the saga too... 😭
1>3>2 on the whole 2>3>1 for a first play through. 2 feels incredible the first time you play it, but the high level play is neutered a bit. 3>1>2 for combat. 3 has the best, closely followed by 1 which is a much tighter and more polished game overall giving it an edge. 2>1>3 for story 1>2>3 for characters 2>3>1 for graphics
I love them all so much but Bayo 1 just feels like the purest form of Bayo when it comes to combat and style. I like things about 2 like color and how insane some of the fights are. 3 feels like a baby’s first hack and slash imo but I still like it a lot minus Viola. But fr if Bayo 4 playslike what playing Viola plays like then I’ll just have to check out of the series lol.
I like the gameplay in Bayonetta 3, but I have to disagree it's the best, I would give it to Bayonetta 2, because of enemy telegraphs, some enemies just seem to not warn the player when they attack, unlike every enemy in the previous games, also demon slaves, while a cool mechanic, can sometimes add too much on the screen, which is a shame. Other than that I don't really like viola's gameplay, I just can't understand the block timing and it just feels clunky to me, so it just deducts points Environments, if we're talking about exploration, then I'll give it to Bayonetta 3, there's no bs about returning to the beggining of the level for an optional verse like in the first game and there's just more to do than in 2 However if we are talking about level design I think I'll give it to 2, you just can't beat the somber environments of hell or the mystical beauty of Paradiso, or the surreal feeling of seeing the gates of hell (the actual gates of hell) for the first time with that inverted pyramid type thing I have to say though the transition to the gates of hell in Bayonetta 3 is godly, unfortunate that rodin doesn't have any dialogue each time you enter it and there's no LPs to give, so unfortunately this is the least we heard him talk in the series
Bayonetta one by far trumps all of them In the sense that it’s the most coherent. The combat mechanics are so clean, the visuals hold up quite well, the bosses were so well done and executed, the music was amazing (I cannot stand tomorrow is mine sorry), and it makes you care about all the characters, not just some
I haven't played 3 yet and I just beat 2 last night. Soundtrack goes to Bayo 2. It's also just more polished with better camera angles. Bayo 1 has better unlockables with the weapons and costumes. They give you a lot of stuff up front in 2. Personally, I want to work a bit more for weapons to appreciate them more. But it's not bad for a little more accessibility. They even locked Jeanne behind getting platinum on every chapter in normal mode. Bayo 2 lets you have her for beating the story once on normal. I'd give the slightest edge to Bayo 1. It's so close
I think that the best game in the series is the second game, because it is the best slasher. It's better than the first game due to the gameplay and graphics, and Bayonetta 3 has too much of everything that the third game can't even be properly called a slasher, it's more of an action game. Therefore, the second game is still the best for me, it brought something new and did not overdo it.
for me: story - 1 gameplay - 3 although i miss the customizing of weapons onto hands and feet of 1 & 2 stages - 1 (loved the various gravity altered stages like in a remembrance of time and in the ithavol tower leading up to the statue of jubi - even tho i absolutely HATED falling from the sideways platforms) hairstyle - definitely 3 soundtrack - 1 (2 is more cohesive sounding, but 1 has iconic songs that don’t need to be cohesive and still slap individually with mysterious destiny and fly me to the moon - also love how mysterious destiny is basically just narrating the story of bayonetta lol) runtime - 1 i found myself taking so long to complete everything especially the alfheims and umbran tears crows and don’t get me started on the witch trails or whatever they were called - i also found myself actually ENJOYING grinding for HOURS to get that 100% while in 2 it felt less satisfying and in 3 feels like an absolute CHORE bonus category (mini bosses) - 1 loved beating up beloveds bonus category (bosses) - 1 fighting the cardinal virtues was so epic bonus category (hidden boss) - 2 rodin in his demon form was almost impossible to beat (haven’t fought rodin in bayo 3 yet so i may change my answer once i do) bonus category (final boss) - 1 jubileus was an epic battle i enjoyed bonus category (demon summons) - 3 demon slave expands on the summons in 1 & 3 bonus category (weapons) - 2 the lightning hammer and triple scythe were so satisfying to use bonus category (costumes) - 1 now this was tough AF cause teenage witch in training Bayo and egyptian bayo oh and casual skinny jeans and pink knit sweater bayo from 3 are my new favorites along with the default costume BUT 2 had epic looks like the belly dancer look, the devil wings and tail, the japanese sun goddess look, and who could forget the dress and hat combos from the beginning and end scenes BUT in 1 we have the cute elemental cat ears and tail, the ice skating look, the bdsm look, the nun outfit, the karate look which i absolutely LOVE, but the Witch Queen look takes the cake and the fact that you can mix and match perfumes with your weapons to stack multiple costume changes just tips the scales to a fun win for 1 with all that variety so in conclusion the best game in my opinion is bayo 1 however bayo 3 is definitely a great runner up & bayo 2 is a LOVELY second alternate. forget bronze, silver, and gold; these games are pure platinum, platinum, and gold! they’re all so good!!!
Not to dis anyone but when I played bayo 1 and 2 I had no idea what was going on and didn’t care for anyone. So I still kinda get surprised people like it at all. Not saying stories in this series is bad but it’s kinda just there.
Bayonetta 2 is my favorite. The Graphics of that look colorful and amazing. The Love is Blue Guns look awesome. Rodin's Boss fight like "OH DEAR GOD." cus he has an attack that can take out all of your health giving you 1 hp. (Even though he had this ability like the first game) I love the enemies in this game. Though the story was.. alright. But I love the game. Bayonetta 3 was good and Bayonetta 1 was awesome. I am a really big Bayonetta fan and I love the three games. Idc what people say. I always will have fun playing those games
@@navarin3905 what clichés exactly that aren’t in 3?
You aren’t alone in thinking this, it’s almost like the franchise is slightly embarrassed by some elements of the first and have softened them up a bit. That or something else like a focus on mass marketability has altered it some. Still fantastic games all around.
@@brady9592 yk what, i fully believe that the director of bayo 2 simply understood the assignment when it came to the camp, sass and overall story that the franchise had. from the OPENING act ALL the way down to the ending, it was the best among the three (bayo 1 in the second)
but ! gameplay wise, bayo 3 amplifies the serious mode in 1 + further expands on the power of Umbran Climax in 2. i liked the multiverse concepts but they couldn't exactly fill EEAAO's perspective on life (based on singularity's line that feel closer to jobu tupaki's view on things) but does more than what marvel did with Multiverse of Madness.
the thing i love and is one of the reasons bayo 1 is my fav is that the atmosphere feels vintage and i like how all the games reflect the right time periods except 3 that doesnt have a set period in bayo 1 its clearly the past while bayo 2 is more in line with the present
bayonetta 1’s final boss was by far the best. it was the most satisfying. i love all three games but bayo 1 will always have a special place in my heart
Bayonetta 1's boss honestly blows on repeat playthroughs. It takes longer to kill and having to wait is really annoying
@@momentaryretrospect5967 hmmm no not really. it’s super cool if you’re good at the game
@@CelloCircle I beat it at the hardest difficulty. It's not hard and it never was, it's long don't be delusional about this being a skill issue.
Bayonetta 1 also has the best final climax by far
Jubileous is always foreshadowed that's why she's satisfying
For me its bayonetta 2 , i had such great memories
Take my advice and don't finish it.
oof, i have heard that the ending is really bad i fear. only on like chapter 5 or so and the storytelling just hasn’t been it imo. i’ll think a bit about finishing it tho
They are all good in different ways but Bayo 1 had the most satisfying combat. I have played hours and hours on Bayo 1 just mastering the combos :)
Disagree. I think 3 is better with the slaves
@@nomight273 I do like that aspect of the game, for sure. I love the entire franchise.
@@nomight273 my opinion is invalid because i have yet to play it but tbh it feels like bayo1 combat has been just remade which makes me sad cause bayo 1 made me feel like a bad ass once i learned the combat properly
"1 had the most satisfying combat"
yeah cuz bayo 1 combat is the most balance in the series to enemies to bayo's move set and harder combat wise and harder to master too
in bayo 2 still great tho
is easier to bypass some combat mechanics especially using umbran climax with large wicked weaves to summoned attacks hit boxes
in bayo 3 still fun a hell
combat i notice it's much more cater to casual which is good bringing new player to the series
but it's easier to cheese, spam and abuse many moves and abilities
more mini games ,viola's meh combat than bayo and convoluted story worsen the replayability of the game
@@daryllfavortio6944 agreed
Bayo 3 has the best combat. Performance issues and all I like it best. Bayo 1 and 2 are fantastic as well.I’ve bought them all multiple times.
Totally agree! All the Bayonetta games are must play games
Are you sure about that?
Best combat? Are you high? There are no combos in bayo 3
Bayonetta 1's character design are iconic.
For me honestly i think it's the really overdetailed design, it's really cluttered
@@ryutotatsuki3665 agreed. All the gold and the braids make it too loud. And the skirt is odd.
@@nepsit219 for me the skirt is fine but it's the hair bump in the back
It throws me off
Bayo 1 has the best music and overall atmosphere; Bayo 2 is the best visually and overall brings the characters more to life; Bayo 3 (Although I haven’t finished yet) overall has most dynamic combat system, gives many options for fighting
You will be in for a ride when you get to Bayo 3's ending! :)
Just checked and yeah your right! I didnt even notice that while playing, Good observation! :)
It's because of the oversized enemies and demon slave combat that nobody asked for.
I loved bayo 1. To me it had the stronger story.
Bayo 2 was close to perfection but I think it could have been twice as long
Bayonetta 1 IMO is my favourite in the entire series.
Completely agree every game is a masterpiece!
@@EclecticBarbie the game just came out lol. High level players are still Messing with the game
@@dez87 i know it did lol and i never said they weren’t, as i mentioned combat wasn’t the issue..

Storywize they all have ups and downs, 3s ending isn't as bad imo as other people have said and I still liked it.
Bayonetta 2's worst aspect was the weapons, the first game and third game have much more going on.
I really loved 3s Ending! Even though i think 3 has the worst story in the series I still like it and the ending was great
@@millabasset1710 tbh I think the worst part of 2 was how the entire game was kinda rebalanced around umbran climax and witch time especially the ranking scores, and how some of the enemies in 2 have LIGHTNING quick attacks with no sound cue or just a generic sound effect, really made getting pure platinums in that game a pain in the ass. Bayo 1 was unforgiving as hell I will admit but if you did fuck up it was ur fault (minus those GOD AWFUL random QTEs sprinkled in) and you coulda prevented it if you were skilled enough, some things in 2 just feel luck based tbh. 😭
@@bonelesscommunism4031 thats why bayo 1 is my fav because its hard but doable and once you do it youre left with feeling like a badass

The weapons are also amazing
I loved the weapons in Bayonetta 3!
The man just gave "hair" the same value as gameplay
He is a Bayonetta fan
@@jfh9535 I think the colors for Jeanne’s outfit in 3 were inspired by the rosy maple moth, which I find pretty cool honestly
What is this cope? Bayonetta 3 is objectively the deepest with the slave mechanic
You can LITERALLY button mash in 1
Bayonetta 1 - 10/10
Bayonetta 2 - 9.5/10
Bayonetta 3 - 5/10
Bayonetta 1 has the best story.
1. All the games are great
Me who understands Bayonetta 2 Lore despite never play a single Bayonetta game:
"Ehe"
Bayonetta 2 is a perfect game.
I’d go as far as saying it’s the best action game ever made
mhh… issue is that the 2nd game doesn’t come close to the quirkiness of the 3rd and especially the first game imo (aside from the intro sequence at least, you can’t say anything regarding this aspect), so I personally wasn’t really satisfied after finishing the game, but that may be subjective
@@KuribohdudalalaI said the same. Also, it has the best moveset in action game history!
Bayo1 Story and combat/combo system
Bayo2 Aesthetics and graphics
Bayo3 Content
Sorry but the combat and combo system in Bayo1 is deep, the skillceiling is the highest of the trilogy and the Jeanne boss fight is unmatched.
And i can f*ing see what's happening on screen in Bayo1, I think it's kinda important in action games
I haven't played Bayonetta 3 yet, but I think you summed up the strengths of the first two very well. The skill ceiling and combat system in Bayo 1 is just better. I also think 1 has better costumes as well
You do you mate, but I disagree. The best for me is bayonetta 2
I also think Bayo 2 is the best game in general
Same here dude it's like a refined Bayonetta, as opposed to 3 maybe because voice acting threw me off and because technically but not the same character its Cereza
@@TheHalloweenSpirit story wise and fluidity of the animation maybe yes. but combat gameplay wise and fanservice, definitely bayo 3.
@@LoveSilence224 All if them are Cereza technically.
Yeah 2 was the most refined if demon slave was added to 2 it would take the cake.....the ending for 3 killed the game for me despite how fun it was....but all bayo games make you smile while playing them....bayo2 also always granted access to climax attacks where some parts in 3 you can't summon demons
I agree. I hate the new enemies. They should've used fairies if change was "so important". I kinda hate 3 for that...and their sizes.
the only thing i hate about bayonetta 3 are the contents are less, like jeanne is not available to play in every chapters like before. and there is no coop mode like in bayo 2, and the villain is kinda meh, i hope they add a patch or DLC for this and this is gonna be the best bayonetta game ever.
Pretty much agree with all your points. Would love it if they added DLC!
Bayo 1 because passing in in all difficulties and mastering the combat was amazing
For me it’s bayonetta 1 and 2, 3 was great but nothing compared to the first two
Interesting analysis you made for each part, regarding the soundtrack section I'd also agree that bayo 2 is the best, my reasons is that not only seems like a nartural progression over the first game but also unlike bayo 3, all the tracks fit perfectly, don't take me wrong is not that i dislike the rock-pop style of viola but because is so different to rest of the regular soundtrack of the series it feels kinda out of place, same with those tracks that are similar to astral chain, is a nice reference but i don't feel it mix too well with the style the previous games got us used
well i mean viola is from a different universe and the complete opposite of bayonetta so it makes sense
Bayo 2 has the best story and graphics, Bayo 3 has the best everything else
If only I could take my favorite parts from each game and Frankenstein them together.
Bayonetta is a classic
Bayonetta 2 I only love Alraune and Inferno, good game
Bayonetta 3 sucks and wasn't worth the wait.
My personal favorite in the Bayonetta series is Bayonetta 2.
Bayonetta 1 was the best one hands down.
The issue with Bayonetta 3 was its bare bones story, which what makes it the worse for me
All the Bayonetta are great games, except Viola, sorry it is not hate, it just like she is like a Boruto next generation is you know what i meant
I just think it's bayonnetta 1 that wins this it,s just such a statement and the characters have such good arcs I just feel like the final boss was a bit lackluster
i feel like character and enemy design should’ve been a category. as well as boss battles and companion characters
i know it seems like spoiler heavy to talk about the bosses and companion characters, but just talking about the overall feel of bosses and the general plot and gameplay uses of companion characters could’ve evened out the competition more
Best bosses are from 1, enemy design for 3, companions 1, and the characters design... thats up to whoever is playing honestly. For me, my favorites are from 2, specially rosa and rodin.
For me Bayo 1 has the best story, Bayo 2 has the best design, and Bayo 3 has the best gameplay.
The games are ranked by themselfs, lol.
1-2-3
Pretty much
I'd guess most people watching this video are Bayonetta fans, so you should've talked about the things considered spoilers.
Bayonetta just standing around and waiting for her variants to get killed made no sense.)
When it comes to visuals, I also prefer Bayo 1 & 2.
1. 1 is the best because the gameplay is the most in depth and it's challenging as hell.
I think it’s because of enemies/bosses that dodge outside of Witch time is what generally made you not enjoy bayonneta 2 as much as 1
@@LTDLetsPlays 🤔They dodge outside of witch time? I mean, I think they'd be able to move outside of witch time?
Your video was great, its exactly how a review should be, congrats and thank you for making this amaizing video 🥳🥳.
Might also add that i share your opinions
Your welcome and thank you for the kind words! Also im glad we share the same opinions :)
I think bayonetta 1 has the best story, bayonetta 2 has the best look/hairstyle, and bayonetta 3 has the best gameplay.
Bayonetta 1 always.
Just letting you know, it made my decision way easier. I will start with Bayo 3 and will buy Bayo 1 for 10 bucks on Ps4 later down the line. Thanks for helping me a lot^^ thrilled to play my first Bayonetta game!
Nice! Hope you enjoy the games :)
I miss the angel attack
Angel attack was the best!
in first i thought ur channle is very big with the way u talk u are so pro good luck bro
Thank you so much! :)
Let’s see how you feel about calling Bayonetta 3 the best in the series in a few months.
Bayo 3 is the best for me, best story best ost and best final boss + more diversified environnements
The final boss was incredible!
Bro said best story 💀
@@danii206 the story was trash in all the games lmao
Bayo 1+2 had better stories... B3 has too many holes and it fell off
ost??? That’s really debatable

I feel like people only like 1 because thats their first game of the three theyve played so they have more affinity towards it.
Bayo 3 also has Alruna as weapons it even has a demon slave attached to it
@@amadousy8227 yeah
I think bayonetta 3 had the best soundtrack the music was amazing wdym
Fly Surprised you don't mention Moon River is a remix, personally I prefer the original music to the remixes. Still great music but the original songs appeal a lot more.
Bayonetta 2 for me without a doubt. Perfect blend of good story, gameplay and difficulty (unlike 3!)
I love Bayonetta 3 That we can select area in chapter we want to play without restart from begining but I hate catch cat and crow so much lol

Such a great and fun video!
Thank you! glad you enjoyed it :)
Bayonetta 1 is the best 🌟
Nah. Bayo 2 and 3 are very good games in their own right, but Bayo 1 is such a masterpiece.
Agreed. The ending, new mechanics, loss of old ones and the character of Viola soured the whole experience for me and have no wish to replay 3 again though I would happily replay the other two any day
@@Maesterful I agree, especially about Viola's levels. She's such a nuisance to play as
Damn I’m actually surprised with the amount of stuff bayo 3 won here. A lot of people complain
Awesome video. I'm gonna play them all
Thanks Mate! Hope you enjoy the games :D
I really dislike bayo 2 for the numerous changes that change it implemented in regards to shorter witchtime, the ability for enemy to dodge out of it, forced to use umbran climax etc but I loved the lower use of QuickTime.
NO THIS!!!!!! The gameplay isn’t nearly as tight and clean as Bayonetta 1
its okay to lie and be wrong! 😊
What about fly me to the moon and the other 2 bayonetta 3 ones
to me, playing bayo 3 was a really cool experience the story has a lot of plotholes i know but for some reason playing the game felt refreshing, this happens with every game but for me in 3 it happens the most. My fav game is bayo 3 I love this bayonetta's design, i understand why people don't but for me it's gorgeous and i love it. I also like the demon masquerade and how it looks a LOT
Awesome video❤❤❤
Bayonetta 2 in the reasoning of Tomboy Bayonetta 👍
The 2nd is the best bta ever. The 1rst is a masterpiece. The 3rd is a full disappointment... It ruined the saga as god of War 2018 and 2022 ruined the saga too... 😭
1>3>2 on the whole
2>3>1 for a first play through. 2 feels incredible the first time you play it, but the high level play is neutered a bit.
3>1>2 for combat. 3 has the best, closely followed by 1 which is a much tighter and more polished game overall giving it an edge.
2>1>3 for story
1>2>3 for characters
2>3>1 for graphics
Knocking Bayonetta 2's story for requiring knowledge of the previous game is a legitimately odd complaint considering it's a direct sequel...
“umbran climax is balanced”
I like the gameplay in Bayonetta 3, but I have to disagree it's the best, I would give it to Bayonetta 2, because of enemy telegraphs, some enemies just seem to not warn the player when they attack, unlike every enemy in the previous games, also demon slaves, while a cool mechanic, can sometimes add too much on the screen, which is a shame. Other than that I don't really like viola's gameplay, I just can't understand the block timing and it just feels clunky to me, so it just deducts points
Environments, if we're talking about exploration, then I'll give it to Bayonetta 3, there's no bs about returning to the beggining of the level for an optional verse like in the first game and there's just more to do than in 2
However if we are talking about level design I think I'll give it to 2, you just can't beat the somber environments of hell or the mystical beauty of Paradiso, or the surreal feeling of seeing the gates of hell (the actual gates of hell) for the first time with that inverted pyramid type thing
I have to say though the transition to the gates of hell in Bayonetta 3 is godly, unfortunate that rodin doesn't have any dialogue each time you enter it and there's no LPs to give, so unfortunately this is the least we heard him talk in the series
U need to keep doing bayonetta content I'm also surprised that u have low subs I thought u had like 345k I also really live ur bayonetta content 😅
Wow thank you! will definitely be making more Bayonetta content :)
Story: 1 > 3 > 2
Music: Tie
Difficulty: 1 > 2 > 3 (very debatable)
Combat: 3 = 1 > 2
Replayability: 3 > 2 > 1
I think that the best game in the series is the second game, because it is the best slasher. It's better than the first game due to the gameplay and graphics, and Bayonetta 3 has too much of everything that the third game can't even be properly called a slasher, it's more of an action game. Therefore, the second game is still the best for me, it brought something new and did not overdo it.
Good vid
Good job. Still watching these after beating it and this should be mandatory viewing for picky buyers.
Thanks!
for me:
story - 1
gameplay - 3 although i miss the customizing of weapons onto hands and feet of 1 & 2
stages - 1 (loved the various gravity altered stages like in a remembrance of time and in the ithavol tower leading up to the statue of jubi - even tho i absolutely HATED falling from the sideways platforms)
hairstyle - definitely 3
soundtrack - 1 (2 is more cohesive sounding, but 1 has iconic songs that don’t need to be cohesive and still slap individually with mysterious destiny and fly me to the moon - also love how mysterious destiny is basically just narrating the story of bayonetta lol)
runtime - 1 i found myself taking so long to complete everything especially the alfheims and umbran tears crows and don’t get me started on the witch trails or whatever they were called - i also found myself actually ENJOYING grinding for HOURS to get that 100% while in 2 it felt less satisfying and in 3 feels like an absolute CHORE
bonus category (mini bosses) - 1 loved beating up beloveds
bonus category (bosses) - 1 fighting the cardinal virtues was so epic
bonus category (hidden boss) - 2 rodin in his demon form was almost impossible to beat (haven’t fought rodin in bayo 3 yet so i may change my answer once i do)
bonus category (final boss) - 1 jubileus was an epic battle i enjoyed
bonus category (demon summons) - 3 demon slave expands on the summons in 1 & 3
bonus category (weapons) - 2 the lightning hammer and triple scythe were so satisfying to use
bonus category (costumes) - 1 now this was tough AF cause teenage witch in training Bayo and egyptian bayo oh and casual skinny jeans and pink knit sweater bayo from 3 are my new favorites along with the default costume BUT 2 had epic looks like the belly dancer look, the devil wings and tail, the japanese sun goddess look, and who could forget the dress and hat combos from the beginning and end scenes BUT in 1 we have the cute elemental cat ears and tail, the ice skating look, the bdsm look, the nun outfit, the karate look which i absolutely LOVE, but the Witch Queen look takes the cake and the fact that you can mix and match perfumes with your weapons to stack multiple costume changes just tips the scales to a fun win for 1 with all that variety
so in conclusion the best game in my opinion is bayo 1 however bayo 3 is definitely a great runner up & bayo 2 is a LOVELY second alternate. forget bronze, silver, and gold; these games are pure platinum, platinum, and gold! they’re all so good!!!
