Fair review of Granite Peak, my home hill. The ski hill isn't difficult to get to if you live in WI, it's right off an interstate highway. People could also fly into Central Wisconsin Airport in Mosinee. Then it's 15 minute drive to the hill. You can't too early to experience all three high speed lifts, the six in the middle and two quads in the east and west. Seeing Wausau light up night skiing/riding is really pretty. Glad to hear you want to come back.
Check out Lutsen if you come back to the Midwest. That's about as good as it gets in this part of the country, though Mt Bohemia can be sick if you hit the snow just right
I’ve watched the granite peak, cascade, and Nordic mountain reviews all solid hills in the area but you gotta try devils head in my opinion it is better then Nordic and they have a $18 Thursday night special which is a killer deal
As a local that snowboards here all the time, I can say that the view during the day is awful. At night though, its a different story. The lights from the city make it seem like a phone wallpaper an AI would have generated. That's just my opinion. Thanks for reviewing Granite Peak, most people don't get over here much.
Pretty weak score..this is just about the only decent resort in the Midwest. Just went for 3 days and had an absolute blast. Employees are top notch we had a little guy brand new who did two types of lessons and was up using the lifts on the greens on day 2. Nothing else compares to granite peak hidden gem.
Agreed. If he was to weight scores based on the region I'm sure it would score much higher... but yea, if you're comparing to CO/UT/WY/MT/CA/etc... then of course it's gonna score low.
All your reviews on Wisconsin resorts are so flawed, you score them basing it off of multi billon dollar resorts like breck, vail, park city. When in all reality it is not geographically possible for these “mountains” to be anywhere near the magnitude of what you’re comparing it to. I would take these more seriously if you set different scales based on your location and reality of what to expect in the Midwest. Other than that I appreciate the effort for making these places easier to scout. I just feel they aren’t being recognized properly due to the experiences you have out west, some people will never be able to make it there and these videos kind of make all the Midwest resorts sound like dumps.
I wish you could have seen the terrain parks 8+ years ago.. I’m a local here in Antigo, Wi. Grew up on this hill. And if you google some of the old parks for 2010-2012 era, it was insane.. this place has really gone down hill (no pun intended).
Granite Peak had the best park in the midwest by far. It was on par with Keystone/Copper at the time. Lots of doubles getting thrown in those days. I remember they had a jump line on the far side with 8 jumps, so much fun.

Granite peak has 3 high speed detachable lifts. The 6 person and eastern 4 person lifts run until 9pm. The western high speed lift closes at 4

This wasn’t the year for our Wisconsin ski resorts, couldn’t be more excited to see you out in the Midwest.
There employees are great! I go there all the time!!! There really nice and care a lot.
I went there in the seventies when it was Rib Mountain. It was the biggest thing I'd ever skied on .
Sitting at the bottom of granite peak right now. I learned how to snowboard here in 1989 as rib mountain.
You can get a plane ticket to wausau, the airport is ten minutes away from the lift

💯
Also the day time view is mediocre but its kind of cool at night with all the lights from the city
johnathan, please go to loon!
Oh I want to go bad!
you should try the human snowboard like Davidjones did but at keystone! 🏂
