    Tip. Put your parts and water or degreaser in a zip lock bag and place it in the ultra sonic machine. This keeps the larger bath clean.

    I just bought this exact model tonight at Harbor Freight. I plan to use it for gunsmithing, cleaning firearm parts, reloading and fired brass as well as cleaning carburetors on lawn and garden equipment. I was debating back and forth between this one and the cheaper $89 plastic one. I got this one because it appears to be built much better and has more capacity. Sometimes using one of these is the only way to do what you need to do. Think removing a gunked up carburetor off a chainsaw or something similar before you can rebuild it. A ultrasonic cleaner speeds up tedious parts of firearm cleaning as well. Think a barrel that looks like a sewer pipe inside or a M16/AR15 bolt carrier group caked with carbon fouling. Black powder cap and ball revolvers can be assisted with one as well.

      Yeah they are really for parts with small holes and crevices, we used to use an industrial version back in the day, thing was probably well over a thousand dollars but was required by the customer which was Parker Hannifen to get coolant and any debris out of the aluminum pneumatic valves we would machine, they hand lots of very small holes, slots ect. Interestingly the units heater did not work after time but the movement of the ultrasonic will actually cause water to warm on its own over time, we use to joke around about making hotdogs in it at lunch. We were told never to use solvent in it, only water and soap, it was said it would damage the machine, but that was then things may have changed, or that may have just been sombody flapping their jaws...as guys tend to do.

    Have you, or could you, measure the actual Wattage of your ultrasonic cleaner. My Creworks cleaner is listed as 180 watts for the ultrasonic transducers. When I measure it with a Kill-a-Watt meter using only the ultrasonic function of the cleaner, it measures between 110 and 135 watts. I would be interested in knowing what your model is rated as and the actual power consumption. You posted a great video and I appreciate the information you provided.

    Thank you for the review! I need one badly. This was very helpful. This model has good reviews on HF site. No 1-star reviews which is a good sign. Most Amazon reviews on these cleaners have several pages of 1-star reviews! Also, the wattage is clearly shown at 370 watts. One customer said it is not 6L but 4L, so 1 US gal size. For this size, a strong wattage is 70-100 watts, and this machine clearly exceeds that, so the power is strong for cavitation strength.
    On TH-cam, I saw a guy use a jar filled with gasoline to clean engine parts. He partially filled a glass jar (I think it was glass not plastic) with gasoline, put the part inside, screwed lid on tight and submerged it into the tank. The part came out shiny clean! I wonder if anyone here can tell me if this is safe? Has anyone else used gasoline, alcohol, acetone, mineral spirits, etc to clean with an ultrasonic cleaner? My house burned down and I salvaged jewelry and other things that need cleaning. I would love to know if this works.
    If anyone also has experience with a good machine, please recommend brand. Something this size. Thank you!

      2 things I know. 1 manufacturers tell you no flammable liquids in them because vapor can get everywhere and cause explosion. 2 people do exactly what you're saying. What I think, be real bad if jar broke, the cleaner harbor freight sells is for jewelry. Some automobile soap and a 1/4 teaspoon of citric acid/ lemishine with distilled water would be good also.

      I just purchased this unit from Harbour Freight. I've never owned one before but so far I'm impressed with it. The heating element works very well.
      I also tried different solutions contained inside a glass jar and submerged the jar in the tank filled with water.
      I've mainly used the unit for cleaning carburetors. I purchased a set of Italian Webers (used) and one of the throttle shafts was seized solid. It took several series of soaking the carb in ATF in a separate container and then ultrasonic treatments in hot water to free the shaft.
      The other carb cleaned up nicely with one 20 minute session using Pine Sol in the ultrasonic cleaner.
      One full gallon of water leaves a little room at the top of the tank.

      Vinegar can corrode stainless steel. So put the vinegar in a jar or ziploc bag along with the rusty part, then put that bag/ jar into the basket with water all around it. Jar should be water tight.

    • @1D10CRACY
      @1D10CRACY  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@schlomoshekelstein908 Most companies do not make their own products, they pretty much outsource to the cheapest supplier these days. We seen this with one of Snap-On's floor jacks and Harbor Freights first version of the Daytona jack. Both were being made in the same Chinese factory and both were almost identical except for minor changes making the brand. Another example is Eastwoods welding table and Harbor Freights welding table. They are both made in the same factory, but both have minor differences. Normally the companies work with the suppliers and make changes as needed in hopes to have a better product. There is no doubt Vevor is doing the exact same thing.
