Sadly Marie Fredriksson passed away in 2019 due to a brain tumor. What a great voice. And you can't have the 80's ( greatest decade ever ) and 90's without Roxette.
R.I.P
ABBA had a tribute riff to her in their new album on the song "I can be that woman"
@@Tom_McMurtry will listen
Yes! She was taken away from us way too early. Wonderful voice
I was there. At Borgholm Castle 1989. I was 8 years old and fell in love with Marie. Still remember the concert like it was yesterday, guess I can thank the videos for that. Rest in Peace Marie ❤🤙
Roxette is so underrated. They had a nice string of hit songs.
Yes, they're not up there with *Journey,* and yet I've always found that it's easy to imagine their songs being done by *Journey,* but with a female vocalist instead of Perry.
And if Brad likes singers who embody their songs, he may want to watch more live *Talking Heads.*
Never underrated
i wouldn't say they are underrated. They were a pretty big deal.
And rightly so.
Yes, they have not the legacy of Abba but who has.
They actually had a couple of Nr 1 hits back then 🤟
Not underrated in Europe
She has flown to be with the angels, but we still have her voice to remind us to listen to our hearts.
They really bridged that transition from ‘80s music to ‘90s music.
Yea.. eactly.. to modern for the 80tys.. still not quite 90 music. Granted.. Roxette did do some 90 like songs late. They was even doing some in the 00tys
This song and video was all over MTV back in the day, “The Look” and “Dressed for Success” were big hits, so sad she passed away in 2019 RIP Marie
Y'all are my favorite music reactors. Not a lot of talking and you get along with each other so well. Seem so genuine and down to earth. That baby is going to be so happy because the parents are.
Yeah, it’s short and sweet, leaves you wanting more. They got the perfect system.
@@tangerine4665 agreed. As a music lover they've helped me to enjoy the music even more
Marie had an Amazing voice, she was Beautiful, so Talented, and Underrated. I Miss her. I pray she Rests in Peace for all time. 🙏
Thank you for sharing your gift of song with the world. 🌹❤
This song is iconic in the film "Pretty Woman" (1990).
I still can't believe she's gone, though. Such a beautiful lady, with such a powerful voice, filled with so much emotion. Gone way too soon, but will never be forgotten.
#RIPMarieFredriksson ✨🙏
"It must have been love" Roxette
In Pretty Woman
Was this really in Pretty Woman?
You’re not thinking of It must have been love?
❤️🙏
This song was not in Pretty Woman - you are mistaken Roxette's song "It Must Have Been Love" with it.
That is it must have been love
Another great of theirs is “Joy Ride.” The wonderful sounds of my teenage years!
A great live barefoot, stage performance lol, is Sinead O’Conner “Nothing compares to you.” She really gets into it! Bare feet and all- EPIC live performance!
My favorite Roxette song is - 'Fading Like A Flower.'
This group had at least 20 hits on Europe and South America charts and all well deserved! You’ll love to hear more from them. This song was a massive hit all over the world that year, but it wasn’t the only one. Please react to more Roxette. I think you’ll love them.
Marie had an amazing voice. One of my favorites, she was amazing. Rest in peace, Marie. The world misses you.
Agree. I've always loved her voice.
There was a time when Roxette ruled the airwaves. Late 80s/early nineties was a music time period in itself.
Sadly, a willfully ignored time period in popular music, aside from the alternative rock happening at the time. It seems like most '90s retro music shows on the radio focus on 1994-2001, oddly, while 1990-1993 basically get told to go to hell. And most people think of the "sound of the '80s" as 1982-1987, while both ends of the decade get ignored.
Being a rocker, it surprised me that I liked the song the first time I listened to it. I remember being at one of my female friends house when her parents were gone and she played the song for me. Me being young and very stupid I did not realize she had a thing for me, which she would reveal to me some weeks later. Now every time I hear the song I'm reminded of Katy and being an oblivious dumb kid.
Love a bit of Roxette. Saw them live in the 90s. Great concert.RIP Marie
Marie was Amazing!! The sad fact that she is gone is one of my many sorrows! I have all their albums. They made an impression on my heart.
Their best song imo….I was a rocker and a teen in the 80’s but even pop music was great in the 80’s….class of 1988..
I'm class of 1984. The 80s were the best decade for music and fun.
This duo were superstars on their own in their home country.
So happy to see this. I recommended this song a while back. More Roxette please! They have so many awesome songs. Fading like a flower, Do you get excited and The look will give you a pretty good idea of what Roxette's all about
So many great songs Roxette put out in the late 80's & early 90's. Sweden ruled the 70s, 80s, & 90's with ABBA, then Roxette. Another level of talent with hit single after hit single after hit single.
Fun fact. Prior to Roxette there only been 3 swedish song at us top 1 chart.
Roxette did 4 by the self. (Granted, ace of base also got a few)
The look
Joyride
Must have been love
And this one.
This little lady had the look the voice with this incredible range. She is with God's band now. R.I.P. Marie Fredriksson.
I think their prettiest songs is "The Heart Shaped Sea". Especially the acoustic version from the 1993 Stockholm Cirkus. Per Gessle (the guy) sings the first half of the song with Marie coming in at the middle. Their voices blend so well.
One of the best ballads ever! I LOVE IT! GREAT REACTION, GUYS!
Great singer, great band, great songs. Need more of this band. Great channel.
Since I'm a Swede I saw them during this period, great live! :)
Another song that stirs the emotions what a great feeling of the heart and love!
ah yes this is relaxing warm bath at the end of the day vibe
You could not have said it any better brad
Incredible song from the best emotional performer her body arm and hand movements are so captivating and moving that just leaves you mesmerized
Truly incredible not only gives you goose pimpels you still have goose pimpels next day
Amazing and she performed like no other my word is she missed R.I.P TO THE BEAUTIFUL MARIE
Oh so many memories of mooning over boys and slow dances at the disco...Roxette were fab🤩 Imagine a day when all you had were tapes or records ( if you could afford them) and the radio and pop shows on the tv once a week to see the latest bands or the local disco if you were old enough, this is why music meant alot because you couldn't access it 24/7 and that's why they bring back strong memories today x ...
Maries whole hand and arm movements body language everything so feeling the song she was a master at this
When the women of today are dancing around the stage to impress she stood still and had you mesmerized and drawn in incredible performer and very sadly missed
Absolute legend R.I.P marie fredrickson absolute class
Fading like a flower was a good one. My mum used to listen to them all the time.
Roxette is a very underrated band. They have amazing music, and people know the songs, but rarely know who Roxette is.
Is it so? Im from Sweden and grew up with them so I don't really know how it is world wide. I've always been told that they a one of the most popular bands that ever came from Sweden
Roxette are very very veryyy popular in all south américa and Australia
Marie was a wonderful singer RIP.Try her spine tingling vocals on the haunting beautiful So Far Away as proof
Marie head arm hand movements she gets so into the feel of the song mezmerising
Rest In Peace Marie Fredriksson 🙏!!!
Roxette were the first of that wave of amazing Swedish pop songwriters to come through that now dominate the charts.
It was ABBA-inspired melodies with modern production techniques.
Definitely one of the hardest losses (for me) in the music industry in the last ten years. I've loved Roxette for decades, ever since I first heard "The Look" on the radio and it became my favourite song for months on end.
Beautiful songs and very sympathetic couple. People who appreciate and love good music are good people!
Roxette was somewhat underrated at the time in spite of having like 4 #1 songs. Marie, the female singer, unfortunately died of cancer in 2019, but Per Gessle is making new music with the remaining members as "PG Roxette" and it's surprisingly good. Their cover of Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters" is far, far better than it probably should be.
It was cool of Robert Smith and Robert Plant to both participate in this video. Such great guys! Who thought it would take Roxette to bring the genre's together! Love em both!
They say Marie Fredriksson's voice could strip paint off walls and at the same time seduce a kitten. She was one of the best singers EVER. Iconic voice to an iconic song. This song was #1 in the USA back in 1989.
Hail to Mr. Per Gessle!!! ❤❤❤
R.I.P. Marie Fredriksson!!! 💔💔💔
Long live Roxette... Sweden rules in every music genre!!! 🤘🤘🤘🔝🔝🔝❤❤❤ Greetings from Italy!!! 😉
We miss you, Marie. R.I.P.
I have never wished a couple more wishes. More success. I wish you two nothing but the best.
One of my favorite performers. I hope you do more of them.
RIP to beautiful Marie. Gone way too young. But her voice lives on forever x
Sound of my teen years😍 Oh how I miss 80's and 90's.. Nice reaction! Check out Silver Blue from Roxette.
Another spectacular voice. Gun Marie was special.
Love how you just get into it. No beating around the bush you just dive right in. Keep it up 😉😉
Pretty sure already mentioned this, but it was a swedish act, extremely popular and successful in The late 80's til mid 90's, and still having International hits in late 90's.
Sounds Identical To The Band Named Heart in the late 80’s
There are several versions of this song but my favorite is the one where Marie is just playing a piano. It's slower and her voice is more powerful in that version.
Roxette is a really good band. They didn't have as many hits as they should have...really impressive talent.
In all the comments I see no one talk about how she passed away from cancer like 2 or 3 years ago
Rosette had loads of hits. Maybe not in America but in Europe they were huge.
I loved this duo they were the best of friends until the very end RIP Marie
When their little song on the Pretty Woman soundtrack.. It must have been love, became number 1 they did a huge tour that included America. Sadly they weren't ready for the fame and were so overwhelmed that they never toured America again.
The concert is from Borgholms Castle, Öland, Sweden…
She was one of the best singers In Rock music 🎶
Such a great band. Spending My Time or The Big L are my two favourites although don't seem to be as popular as some of their other ones.
Spending my Time is probably my favourite and considering how many great songs they had, that says a lot I think
Roxette had some really big hits in the late 80's and early 90's. I would recommend "Dangerous", "Joyride" and "Spending My Time". The latter song was considered by the band as it's biggest hit if not for a change at the top of the record label and thus a loss of support and I have to agree with that idea. I also love the other two songs. They were a band that could write hits but also seemed ot have a lot of fun and didn't take themselves too seriously.
Oh ya now yall are doing reactions to some killer classic songs. From pretty woman and the lady singer in roxettee so sexy so talented!
Great description of Marie Fredriksson and her performance Brad. Feel the same way!
It was sad when I heard she passed away, I didn’t hear about it when it happened but I read about it not long ago, such a talented singer
I liked it when Heart sang it the first time as What About Love😂
Lex is truly and incredibly stunning one must conclude...that smile and those eyes...pure gorgeousness....greetings from the Land of the Free and excellent music, i.e. Sweden :-)
Oh yeah, congratulations new Mom and Dad.
All I can say is that I love your videos and your reactions.. it's awesome👌
You were great, i miss you two. The song is amazing
Marie ❤️🇸🇪
A challeng!?!?
A solo song by Marie.
In swedish ...
That vocal 🙈🥰
Sparvöga.
Roxette was great, as 80's bands go. I liked them which is saying a lot.
This song has some elements that remind me of “Alone” by Heart
Agree Jimmy!
Wouldn’t it be great if Heart did their own cover of this?
unique voice and perfect appearance: Marie Fredrickson
Hi B&L, I love Roxette, all of their songs.. She is bare footed a lot.. R.I.P. Ms. Marie ♠W.G.
Listen to your hearts, keep playing Roxette songs, Hot Blooded, Queen of Rain, How Do You Do, the warmest of warm clothes
damn, i miss roxette :( RIP Marie, the only gal who could sport that fabulous haircut
Just a couple of music nerds that listen to and enjoy most everything.....like me😊wooooooooh🎉
LOL The Look Brad gave there at some of the stuff Lex says , but I get her meaning after she gets to the point of it
I totally fancied the singer when I was a teenager!
And I'd half forgotten this song until the post-solo section, wow, that really sounded better than I remember!
They have so many great great songs, enjoy
Love this song. We mIss Marie RIP.
On of my favorite songs from the early 90s when I was a freshman in college
Brad & Lex, you'll love their "Joyride" and "Dangerous"!!
Heart's song (...Heart, ironically- or coincidentally...) had a song called Alone
(you may have already reacted to it) which uses a similar chord progression.
10x better than the autotuned garbage they call music today.
I don't know how many times I was in the crib or in the car seat and I heard this I swear to God it brings me back to car seat😍🤣👌😂
Maybe into teenage years still🤣👌#throwback
Love brads look when lex says reminds her of fresh laundry classic 😜
It must have been love is another masterpiece.
Jajjaa me hicieron reir!! Que lindo que lo sintieron asi .. temazo!!! En Argentina se bailaban lentos, con esta musica en los boliches jaja saludos cynthia .
One of the best ballad ever.
Shooooot, this joint was in heavy rotation back in the day.
Don Henley had a song called "Dirty Laundry" .. Now, with Lex's inspiration, who's going to come out with a song called "Fresh Laundry" ? 😅 .. Keep 'em coming Lex !
Great transition from the 80s to 90s
Leo Moracchioli's cover of this is fantastic and pays great tribute. You can find him here on TH-cam!
Great song. Now that you've heard the original, check out:
Listen to Your Heart (metal cover by Leo Moracchioli feat. Violet Orlandi)
Peace...
Love Roxette♥️♥️✌️
Fantastic band the have a Lot of hits
3:02 All Hail to Marie Fredriksson's Bare-Feet!!!!
This song is very reminiscent of 80's Heart from a few years earlier. I guess she was listening to Heart, lol
This song was popular when my daughter was born and her mother and I split up in high school. I have my daughter and a grandson now!
RIP Marie.❤
