Blunt weapons are all about weight management. Pushing enemy weapons away, or using the extra weight on the backswing to back up. Great demo

Is my man actually taking that Tetsubo hits? What a champ!

Im writing a manga and one of the characters uses a kanabo, these are very helpful references!

Enjoy, remember they are not historical and made up by me, just incase a Tsubo nerd moans about it. Just so you know there are no Tsubo tech anymore :( These movements are based on sledge hammers and baseball bats

Gotta build that upper body strength it looks like you can barely handle it.

I really like how these techniques show the possibility of failure as well. With compliant partner drills, it's easy to forget that everything is a calculated risk that stands at least some chance of going catastrophically wrong.

I like the training sequences for both the Tetsubo and Yari! That you have created this yourself just based upon your personal knowledge is also impressive.

@@michizurecain4764I think you should start it lower at your knee amd swing it like a greatsword, let the weapon move you instead of your legs

@@krieger8825 The aim was to crush and have the weapon bounce back. i dont have much knowledge in great swords. I think I read they use the weight to cut through. So you would have three results. Bounce back, cut through or get stuck inside the body. With the bounce back you cant predict the direction of the weapon, so that is why I chose the stance. I would love others to experiement and try new things so the weapon could advance. If you do please send me a link I am always open to lean :)

Because its not a real one :) We are both martial artists but we are also performers and do fight directing. We needed to make a fake weapon so we can see what happens to it when it connects. The weapon flies of in different directions which makes it harder to control. It wasa good experiment.

You are right! :) These are made up principle forms, on a art that has only one book that I can find. It is not true to real life, no movement, no armour and no reality in the affects of being hit with such a weapon. This is only for the begginer, were people take it after this is up to them

@@michizurecain4764 what book is it? i have had so much trouble finding literally ANY information on this weapon. Martial arts books by most historians barely mention it, or do not mention it at all. Serge Mol mentioned it in a small passage in his book.

@@michizurecain4764pretending you get hit and it hurts is the act. A demonstration is different. This is neither. Thanks for playing. I can almost be assured that you are bujinkan cult influenced, where they pretend to have their hands cut off and throw rubber ones on the floor during their hilarious embutaikai. Complete joke.
