What's insane about Kim jung gi is his ability to start a drawing of a person with the head. Then jump down to the foot, then build the body upward from the foot to the head while including a complex pose. Mind boggling.
He gets the subject's focus of attention and direction with the head, while feet serves as a grounding position to force the subject into perspective. And then body language that builds upward towards the head gives us an understanding of the type of personality the subject would have if they were made into reality, distribution of weight dependent on three points of mass. Two of which have been placed into the medium of illustration and then it's all about placing the lines to fill in the space in between. Between the beginning and the final production would be all the repertoire of skills, library and comprehension of techniques to get the production your way. Maybe even find out that they are certain techniques you might want to relearn or pick up entirely from a fresh angle. 😁✌

My big thing is I just don't know how to keep on adding more mechanical pieces. Just draw some random lines and circles and go with it? This type of drawing is crazy to me!
Think about why certain parts move in a particular way. Thier purpose is built onto the design. Know why and how something is acheived, will help you understand the function of the drawing you are designing in it's own world. It's not random at all, it's intentional

I'd honestly just love a video on how you choose which lines to add weight to like this. It's incredible and I still don't fully understand the reasoning behind it
converging lines are parallels in perspective. if they don't converge at all then you're just drawing with really low perspective. look at a telephoto lens picture, which looks really flat, vs a normal phone pic
I have a problem that when I draw the same object from a different perspective, it loses its proportion and the size is no longer the same. I have not found anything in Spanish that I can understand, I was wondering if there is a solution to this
How do you draw like that on a tablet? My lines get messy and sloppy. On paper i can draw that probably but these technical drawings are too hard on a graphic tablet

James, noticed your anatomy drawings have a sort of "architectural style"...saw something similar in a book by Alberto Lolli (unfortunately in Italian...can see it on Amazon). Do you have any similar anatomy recommendation in English. I have several good anatomy books (Bammes, Peck etc.) but none employ this style. Thanks
Please do this on paper with a pen, so I can actually learn how to draw this, think in this way. This teaches me nothing, only that you know how to use photoshop.
well I did it traditionally, but if you really think digital art might help, a wacom intuos is 75 USD and Krita is a free software program that's almost as good as Photoshop. And if line weight is what you want, a brush with ink, or brush pen, can get you lines with the same variety.

yes, once you become comfortable with creating forms in perspective without a grid it becomes a lot easier to work directly
