Grown male chimps are stronger than multiple men at once and having one beat on your friend and tear her face off justifies her request and reaction imo. Then there's Jeff, a literal preteen boy who's extremely weak and disoriented from recent events and mutilating his face. Even if he lost his sanity he wouldn't overpower his dad so them immediately running for the gun is even more funny.

god this story is SO much. the mental image of a bunch of 12 year olds whipping out glocks. parents finding out their young son stabbed a bunch people and being kinda bummed for an hour. a party of grown adults watching these middle schoolers smashing each other through furniture and shooting up a child's birthday party and just.... continuing to sip wine. jeff being literally right next to a shower while on fire and deciding 'nah, gonna throw myself down some stairs instead'. that this story is somehow one of the most popular and influential creepypastas of all time

That's pretty accurate for America at least. I had a cop pull a gun on me once for walking up my own driveway: my neighbor bought something off Ebay that turned out to be stolen so despite voluntarily handing the stuff and all the info he had and not having any way of knowing the weed whacker was stolen the cops were making it out like he was some fence for stolen goods. I was a teenager, still about 20-30 pounds underweight from a severe illness, walking with a limp from a bad knee, and not exactly a threatening looking guy and this was all in a middle class suburb. Cop also threatened to shoot my puppy who was sitting down with a smile on her face and wagging her tail whenever anyone looked at her.

This creepypasta was a lot scarier when nobody knew it and it was just kind of a playground legend. The story I heard in elementary school was that Jeff the killer was a kid that got tortured and the torture made him insane, and he just kinda lurks across America finding victims. The real story is actually way shittier than the version I remember that scared me as a kid.
That sounds kinda cool that some of the creepypastas would become walking 'myths'.

At least that's how it was for me. All these stories weren't from all the 10 year old kids individually finding the story. It was almost always just a roaming story, someone's older brother told them and they told their friends and it spread like a gigantic game of telephone.

I love how ridiculously stupid these stories are, their horrible writing is what makes them so memorable. Aside from the repetitive narration ("Jeff's mother hugs Jeff" lmao), there's so much unnecessary information that seems like it'll lead somewhere but never does, mainly all the adults at the party being dressed up nicely and Jeff's mom wanting him to dress up too, it makes it seem like something ominous was going on when it was just nothing hahahaha

I remember reading a remake(?) of Jeff the killer. It was a lot better than the original. His descent to madness was so vivid and well written.
- Jeff is a much more older, about 16-17.
- Jeff used to practice boxing, which is why he's able to beat up Randy and his minions
- Jeff's parents were abusive and horrible, never taking his (and his brother's) side, even when they got into a fight with Randy and co, which is one of the factors to Jeff losing his mind.
- Jeff and his family moved from town to town frequently, which makes him feel secluded, with only Liu by his side
- Liu was never sent to juvie, instead he was sent to their aunt's because the siblings were "causing trouble"
- Jeff didn't get bleached, but Randy accidentally shot Jeff's face with a flare gun in their second encounter, blinding his left eye and scarring his cheek, forming a permanent smile on one side
- His parents were more worried about Jeff's appearence at this point rather than his health. Apparently having a disfigured child is a big no to them
- Jeff never killed Liu, as he is his only family and true friend
