Photographing Northern Spain - Moments in Time Ep 13

Meeting up with Francesco Gola, a very talented seascape photographer based in Milan, I knew we needed to leave the city in search of epic seascapes. After a few unexpected snags in transit, we finally arrived in Cantabria and The Basque Country of Northern Spain. Our strategic selection of a beach house on AirBnb worked out perfectly by placing us near some of the most beautiful cliffs and rock formations in the area.
Francesco and I break down our essential techniques for seascape photography as we work with different compositions and long exposures to create a smooth water effect. Even though the weather is not ideal, we still come away with some beautiful shots. Then, to our surprise, we take each other on head-to-head in a ridiculous photography challenge.
No trip to the Basque Country would be complete without a visit to San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, which was also used as Daenerys Targaryen’s Castle in Game of Thrones. Aritz Atela guides us in this amazing location as we capture the sunset.
