This is the first time I saw someone compare the bottle to the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch and I wondered for years why no one had called it that. The first time I saw a Blanton's bottle all I could think of was the killer Rabbit of Caerbannog.
The first time I had Blanton's, I did the Holy Hand Grenade prayer for everyone as I uncorked it... and then realized my Friends all suck, and didn't know what I was talking about.
I love Blanton's, I got my first bottle about 3 years ago and stretched it out as long as I could and was very sad when the bottle was empty. Finding one in Virginia is pretty difficult and you have to basically get it when it comes off the truck because it sells out in under an hour. Luckily my Brother in Law has a contact that can get it whenever they want and the mark up in price isn't high at all so I have another bottle that I am stretching out as long as I can. I was going to do the dry week with you all but I had a fantastic Sunday this week and partook a little too much so I decided to give my body this week to recover instead. We went to a local brewery to see a friends Brother play guitar and sing to the small crowd. Had a great time.
On behalf of all the liquor store customers, I thank you for your service and sacrifice...sitting on a B and an L from the latest weekends of whiskey at the local superstore...technically not really sitting on the B...had to taste it for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th time.
Well, I understand and do not like the customer keycard system for allocation. So I just drink ET BiB, or Balcones. I do like Blanton's but not enough to tolerate tracking of purchases.
A few years ago, I got me a bottle of this for about €55 but since it appeared in the movie 'John Wick', the price has almost tripled! It was a very good bourbon for €55, but I'm not sure it's worth €150...

It gets a lot of hate because it's so hard to find, and secondary market prices are $150+ It's a great Bourbon if you can get it at the $60 MSRP, but the hype around it pushing its price up is a bit ridiculous.
hate probably isn't the right word - it's more of an understanding that it's an average bourbon with a high retail price in a silly bottle, and that there are a number of better tasting bourbons for about half the price that are a lot easier to find
I had major surgery back in June and I'm not supposed to drink any alcohol for at least 6 months, so i personally extended it to a year to recover faster. I had acute pancreatitis due to gallstones, my gallbladder kept dropping them like a pez dispenser. So they knocked me out and put a tube down my throat all the way to my pancreas and snaked tools down through the tube and dug out the blockage. The next day they knocked me out again and removed my gallbladder so that I wouldn't have this problem again. So, for now all I can have to drink are clear liquids and chicken bone broth. Every time I go grocery shopping I pass by the liquor isle and look at all the beautiful whisk(e)y that I see in your guy's videos and think to myself -- I can't wait till I'm able to drink again!
the cork horses come in different poses and I think there is a letter stamp on it some where that you can spell out blantons. This is one fine pour. Slainte!
I had my first Blanton's recently. I thought it was really good. Maybe not worth ALL of the hype, but worth some. Not something I'll put the effort into tracking down at this point though. The 1792 Full Proof store pick I had the same day though... Worth any hunt

People always state how smooth Blanton's is. Its 93 proof, not too difficult to make a bourbon smooth at that proof. Don't get me wrong, it is a damn fine bourbon but it has been marketed and hyped to the point to where the pricing is ridiculous! I can find bourbons out there that are in the $60s price that are just as good and higher proof. Knob Creek 12 year, Russell single barrel, Chattanooga Whiskey 111 just to name a few.
You forgot to mention that Blanton's and the idea of commercial single barrel bourbons in general was the brain-child of non other than then master distiller Elmer T. Lee.
I recently got a bottle of blantons, and I was honestly surprised by the price! I expected it to cost close to, if not in, the triple digits, and I got it for under $60, which was not bad in my opinion. I hope to share a dram with my dad soon, since he’s much bigger into bourbon than me, but still look forward to trying it! Thanks for the review!
I was gifted some of this over Christmas. I Looooved the nose on it. But I swear, it was almost like instant regret once it hit my tounge 😆 I felt slightly embarrassed at my initial recoil of it. Like, maybe I'm not experienced enough, or my taste buds aren't mature enough to appreciate it yet? I added some ice, and it was a little better, but the fact the taste didn't match the heavnly smell to me was demoralizing. Tried some again tonight, and it's more doable, and has grown on me a little, however there are several other mid to higher price bourbons and scotches I enjoy alot, and they are easily accessible. I wouldn't purchase a bottle of this if it was more that 30.00. 😅 Glad to have had the experience, and appreciated getting it as a gift regardless. Now I know.

I would absolutely buy that bottle to refill it later with... I dont know, eagle rare or woodford reserve and use it with guests so they feel special. They would be sipping something good anyway
I've had a few Blanton's bottles donated to my channel, PLUS if I see it on a bar I will ask for a pour simply because I am aware they are single barrels. It's not something I want to chase after, but much as you said it is an enjoyable bourbon for the most part. The disturbing moment for me is when I had two Blanton's bottles with two different letter caps... and I felt the completionist/collector in me say "I guess I'll have to finish the set now". Thankfully I have plenty of other whiskey to drink that I prefer much more to any holy hand grenade bottles. 🖖😎

Blantons is great in my opinion. I always grab a pour or two while In Kentucky. Paired with Guinness at my favorite Irish bar in Lexington (some might know ….next to the Asian restaurant ) it’s amazing.
I bought a Blanton's last year. I had one glass of it. It was just fine. However, my uncle absolutely LOVES it. So I gave it to him for his birthday. I prefer the Weller products coming out of Buffalo Trace actually.
I'm not having Blanton's single barrel tonight, I'm having Old Pepper single barrel toasted-barrel proof-- the hottest rye on market. But I look forward to trying Blanton's single barrel one day. 🕺🏽 🐎

Having lived in the US and currently in the Netherlands, I've weirdly found it to be easier to get hold of in Europe. There is a shop in Belgium where I could regularly get it for 60 euros. That and the added bonus of the bottles of Gold and Straight from the Barrel I picked up on a trip to Paris at msrp
I'm a scotch guy with an appreciation for bourbon. With the stated, I find Blanton's to be a fantastic whiskey. It's a must-have! In fact, I have five bottles in my closet and one in the bar.
Dry week falls on my birthday week so not sure I'll be participating on it. But considering I do dry months all the time I don't feel bad. :D I only drink a handful of times a year though, so it's not too big of a deal for me.
I once had the blanton's gold. which is the international edition that isn't watered to %. it was a bit strong but it was a bonfire in my mouth. still to this day id say it's one of my all time best bottles at least on the American end of whisky. can't get it now though, id get a whole box.

Dry week falls on my birthday week so not sure I'll be participating on it. But considering I do dry months all the time I don't feel bad. :D I only drink a handful of times a year though, so it's not too big of a deal for me.
My dad got me a bottle of Blantons for my birthday last year
I once had the blanton's gold. which is the international edition that isn't watered to %. it was a bit strong but it was a bonfire in my mouth. still to this day id say it's one of my all time best bottles at least on the American end of whisky. can't get it now though, id get a whole box.
I would love to try a stronger Blanton's. It would probably change my mind.
I’m down to my last unopened bottle of Blanton’s, and I won’t open it until I find another one. I may die with this bottle on my shelf.
I entered a raffle for this thinking I would get a bottle for free not knowing what it was. I won the raffle, and it was to buy it, so I did. Now I'm here to see what's up before opening.
I love Blanton’s! It’s just so hard to find it for anything even remotely close to $60. Also I’m ahead of the game on dry week. Was on call last week and got my dry week in 🤙
This stuff tastes like fire to me. My taste buds just really suck 😂
Blanton's is worth the MSRP, as it's a solid drink. The secondary market is way out of line.
