    For those wondering, the brand is Toura Golf not Tour Golf. Cheers.

    I appreciate James doing videos on non-big brand clubs. The more successful all of these $500 irons sets are, the more pressure it will put on the callaways.. tms... cobra... titleist... and pings to not keep going up. And if you go on the mail order sites, you still see previous generation clubs due to overbuying during covid and overpricing.

    Check out the Toura Japanese blank line. No markings at all except for the club # and "made in Japan" on the hosel. Made from S25C at Kyoei golf (forging royalty) in Japan. A few of us did a full build and test on My Golf spy. They're a little more expensive but are as nice as ANYTHING you'll find. I alternate the KCM-cut MB's with my Maltby TS3's.

    James, I would consider it an awesome favor if you and Chris could do a full review on the Callaway TruVis Yellow and Black chrome soft golf balls…There just aren’t enough reviews on these golf balls on line to warrant the price point asked…I bought used ones and I really love them because I’m blind in my left eye and less than 20/20 in my right eye…They are the only ball I can find to use so I can actually see and play golf without my buddies, which really sucks…Any who, I love your videos and they have changed my golf game tremendously

    James, you should try the Canadian brand "Haywood" they have several different options and you can customize them. They are beautiful looking irons

    It would be a benefit to ALL your viewers if you would use the comment section to 1) Give the name and maker of the clubs being reviewed 2) Give a location where they can be found, ideally a web address 3) Understand that many of your viewers are older with diminished hearing so either invest in a better mic or speak slower and more distinctly. Very much enjoy your reviews but you can certainly improve them .....

      I need a set. I had to stop playing after having a stroke in November of 2016. We sold every club in the house. I would give an honest review from my perspective.

    I like that there is not branding all over these iron heads, they would look amazing in the chrome. Mizuno (mp line) should follow suit imo. Great review

    Yes, I think these ones are their everyday/ Everyman club. But as the other comment said, Toura Golf’s Kyoei forged heads (which is the most famous forging house in Japan) are perhaps the best deal in all of golf. The reviews on my golf spy were off the charts on those, let’s see a review on those clubs against your caley and takomo

    • @AZstu324
      @AZstu324 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Unfortunately they never will. Maltby doesn't send out test sets, and most of these guys only review what they get for free. Unless a viewer is willing to send them their personal set, or JR is willing to spend his own money, it just won't happen. It's unfortunate

  • @bassplayer2011ify
    @bassplayer2011ify หลายเดือนก่อน

    Affordable, that's debatable. The price you see on their website is just for the heads. Add in the shafts and the price jumps by another 200 bucks. So realistically they are 800 to 1000 bucks a set. So yeah Takomo, Sub 70, and Caley are still the kings of budget irons.

    Here is my issue. These irons would be $700 to my door and STILL cannot be custom fit to me with only dynamic golds as a shaft option. I just ordered a brand new set of Mizunos, with custom fit shafts and custom grips for a little less than $1000 to my door. Is that more? Sure. But if you are already spending that much money, I would MUCH rather pay a little more of a premium to get custom-fit shafts, especially since I am 3 degrees upright and +.5".

    It just isn’t true that golf is getting more expensive. In the eighties we had main brands, via local pro shop, and these differed greatly in price. We now have online superstores, where you can price shop, and most local pros will match the price and offer the after sales service. There are far more brands fighting for business and we also have direct to consumer brands with Costco entering the market, as i am told Amazon will be dipping their toe. Lastly, we now have so many resale sites, selling used, ex demo and last years models new, these provide excellent value. So ultimately, if you find golf expensive, you haven’t done your homework. I purchased a new full set of clubs in 1982, it cost me 6 months wages, now for most people, it wouldn’t be a months wages, so golf is actually cheaper than its ever been, still significant money, but clubs last for years and have a residual value at the end of your use.

      True and well said. Ebay is where its at for me. Inflation plays a role as well. Plus the communists in the west wanting to steal the wealth of people that worked for it.
