( I know because I have all three games) You can't buy characters with in-game currency only toys for the toy box that you can build with. Idk about the PC version though. Also Damage to buildings don't stay forever.
Also while in spiderman's playset you can see buildings from the avengers, but can't go to them. So the Daily Bugle can only be seen in spiderman's playset.

The console version already comes with two figurines, and everything is available from the get-go. I think the most expensive DLC I know of belongs to DCS World. Free to play on steam, but has a subtotal of *£1,089* of DLC. When I saw it, I just cried with laughter. Over 3 Nintendo Switches, 2 PS4s/Xbox Ones or 1 Iphone X. Of DLC. Edit: NOPE! Train simulator takes that cake at £5,222.12 (US$6,747.54) of DLC! And It's not even free to play!
I mean, at least the gold editions are now worth a purchase because you basically get everything from 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 (well most of the content for 3.0 are missing, like the missing characters, the Finding Dory play set and Marvel Battlegrounds play set for example, well... unless you mod the game)

The floor would just use one big texture from the texture kit which is normally a targa file that has multiple textures on it that are used in the game saving time when texturing as you don't have to texture each model by its self but from one sheet.

Dan, I know this video is old, but if you want a game with actual land damage that stays there, you might want to check out Otogi; Myth of Demons. It's an older game, but it shows that fully destructible land surfaces are possible, and personally I feel they should be included in a lot more modern games. I've been waiting for years for a new game with destructive physics even similar, but have yet to come across one.
If I'm going to play a game where I just get to walk around in circles and shoot the occasional enemy, I'd play Metdroid: Other M. All these new games with hidden fees can't compare to older games like F-Zero X, Rush, Kirby's Epic Yarn, Super Mario Galaxy, and SSBM.
