The changing modes mid race is interesting, but makes no freaking sense in context. It would be better if it was a pod racing game in which your vehicle transforms to fit the track.

Now Dan, I understand this is a shite game but for the love of all that is powered by gasoline, there is such a thing as a brake and its quite useful to use to get round corners...

+Tom Savine There should be sub-sections of Hell. With some being in the outer ring (the poop ones that aren't COMPLETELY awful) and the ones near the center of Hell (the ones that make you want to throw your console out of the window).

***** Sonic Unleashed is the rebel that wanted to be different. But sonic is supposed to be a side-scrolling race/adventure game. Not a 3D, back view mush. It wants to be a brawler and a racing game at the same time and doesn't focus enough on either, making the gameplay awkward and repetitive. The dialogue is cringe worthy and it doesn't fit as a sonic game. Even if you remove the fact that it's a sonic game, it still isn't very well made. It's not TERRIBLE, but it's pretty bad. Maybe not worthy of hell, but the games that go into hell videos are completely up to Dan.

This is what happens when you make a racing game but decide to make players experience sensory overload instead of making the racing fun.
This game wanted to be Road Redemption and turned into Ride in Hell.
I went to go play with my dog, and I replayed the video, and I thought to myself, "Why is there a car horn going off in the game? Oh... wait... thats the cycles engines..."
I believe the game is showing you what bike to switch to via the colour of the road sign that appears at the top middle of the screen. When it shows the blue curvy road, you're meant to swap to the third bike coloured in blue.
12:26 - "They pulled up and slowed down so I could still win"... And *you* said losing wasn't a challenge. =P

Dan should play Crash Bandicoot: Tag team racing or whatever the hell it was called, I remember liking that when I was a kid and the whole merging with your competitors to aid each other whilst still competeing with each other seems like an interesting mechanic.

When they say "200 KMPH," they really mean "Speed Limit in a small parking lot." That clears a lot up.

Those bikes sound like a cross between a mosquito and a World War II air raid siren.
I took my headphones off for a moment to make sure that sound was the game and not a tornado siren. There isn't even a storm around here!
I saw kudos and immediately thought of Project Gotham
It's like they hooked air raid sirens up to their engines.
So I've done some research. It was made the same company who made Rugby 15...

the thing with the come last at racing isn't true, i think it was gio detalia (or whatever that italien bike race is called) back in the day had what was called a "black" shirt, and it was something you won for coming last, but the races had a time limit, so it was all about going in front and then hiding and making risk reward decision on when to bike and when to hide, it must have been way more amazing to watch than the current style of bike racing (yes there was a bigger 1'st price but the black shirt was cooler)

I think you should check out Deserter Simulator. It deserves a nice spot in hell because not only does it have "Simulator" in the title, but it's ALSO a mobile phone port.

Think the bike swaping would make more sense in a sci fi setting where the bike or car would literally change shape.
I actually like the idea of changing bike during the race it could be really fun if they did it properly

If Mr. Cubed here or anyone is interested in an actual version of Gran Turismo with motorcycles, Tourist Trophy on the PS2 was made by the same guys that made GT. It really is just GT4 with bikes rather than cars.
The map also shows the bits where you need yellow bike.
Anyone notice that going 200 miles per hour in that game seems to go the same distance and most people running.

You can switch vehicles midrace? That's actually a pretty cool idea, you could build an interesting strategic racing game around that idea! Especially if you add choice to it, by adding multiple brances to tracks, so the player would have to think how to tackle each section and with what vechile, and why.
... Why do bad games have cool ideas in them?
Did anyone notice the little things that told you that there was a speed camera look exactly like the symbol that appeared in Watch Dogs when a civilian called 911?

Yes the gameplay is bad but it's a very pretty game for not being high budge and I feel like you had an extreme negative bias to this game before you even started it just because it got low reviews. :/ Not very bugy, interesting gameplay. Admit it, the game isn't that bad.

I can see what they were going for, almost like they tried to mix a rhythm game (or even a bullet hell where you need to switch colours) with a racing game. If it HAD worked where the tracks needed fast reactions and... skill, this could have worked well.
