    Love how short and simple this is! I've been enjoying seeing how other artists make their money but it's not applicable to every artist. Thanks for sharing!!!

    This is exactly my head space right now. I've been struggling to figure out how to monetize my work. I feel like I've been banging my head walking in circles.

      It takes a lot of thought and experimentation!

    I really need to get in the business of selling my art but I’m such a hoarder. I recently moved and I have tons more art supplies and finished pieces than household items. 🤣

      lol If you're not interested in parting with your original art, you might consider selling prints.. assuming that your art is printable, of course.

    I needed to hear your words of wisdom as any self-taught artist can do with the direction to enable themselves to go into the future. God bless you, Josie

    Great info, but for revenue stream #9 how do you promote music with your art videos without it being taken down. Everytime I try I get flagged.

    Sinsere congratulations to you on your success! You're deffinitely one to look up to. I too am an artist and am currently working on selling Prints, mostly online. I hope to start a TH-cam channel this year too. Hope I get to make a video like this one day! :D

    How to be an artist: Own rental properties.
    *sigh

      i had the same reaction but there are still a lot of other items on her list... and i think the core message still is applicable to any artist, regardless of how much money/assets we have starting out. and that pursuing multiple income streams is the way to go

      "I earn a few dollars off that" lol the rental properties (PLURAL!) are more than likely the most consistent and valuable income she "earns." Oh and sign up to be coached through email to be part of her 15th income stream.

    This was such an interesting share thank you! I'm 33 and sort of trying to take off in some areas with art and also pursue my finances in a more mature way. I save money every month but I don't invest it like I know I should. Also its inspiring to see a badass lady crushing it in all these ways and you have really good energy!
    Question for you - What kind of income can a large-scale commissions look like doing something major for a public place like an airport or a train station for instance? As well as for the smaller ones maybe something done at a coffee shop or a successful small business? I'm trying to look ahead and see what the big vision could be and would to have an idea of that!

    Very cool video!! How do you set up your TH-cam channel to qualify for ad revenue? Is there a setting to turn on somewhere? Also , would it be possible to have multiple channels generate income to the same bank account (or is there a rule of one channel per bank account) ? Thank you soooo much for your generous light hearted help!!!

    • @JosieLewisArt
      @JosieLewisArt  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm not an expert at youtube revenue--this channel doesn't make much money, but all the unauthorized uploads of my art vids give me some ad revenue--I hired a legal service to help me with that.

      Funny enough I take a loss on those rentals every year. They are a good investment for the future I grant you, but in the meantime, I have mortgages and repair and maintenance expenses, and I charge reasonable rent to my great tenants! They are not a cash positive situation at the moment, so the income is about a break even. But nevermind.

    okay so you were rich to start with

    • @JosieLewisArt
      @JosieLewisArt  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did have property that I couldn't sell during the housing bubble (and my husband had one too, same situation). So we rented them and now 15 years later they aren't underwater anymore, LOL. But I waitressed and made 20K a year for a coupla decades so I don't think "rich" would describe most of my life
