- This is my story of how I became a full-time artist, and the four things that helped me make and find work successfully, and launch my business. I am a mural artist known as Surface of Beauty, and I paint floral murals all across New York City and the world. I love flowers because they express the joy and color of life.

I just saw your video randomly. I can totally agree with what you say. I like that you are very realistic and good in putting this video content together in a way that makes sense and easy to follow. I am trying to grow my followers myself. I am a single mother and is always afraid to be a full time artist because of all my responsibilities. But I would really want to become a full time artist and I am trying it now. I lost my job due to pandemic so i really have no choice but to try and work super hard. Your video is reassuring. This was a breath of fresh air. I'm on this path myself and I've really been dialing in on what I'm going to be doing consistently. I've developed a routine and cut out some bad habits little by little but I hope I can because full-time in the upcoming years as a 3D Product Rendering Artist. Thank you for your kind words and wisdom from one artist to another!

I created a new instagram account in July, and three months later I have 400 followers, and that's just from following, liking pictures, and interacting with others. Though, I have to say, most of my followers are other artists. I'm trying to figure out how to get followers outside of the art bubble, which I'm thinking I should interact with other communities rather than just artists.
It will grow naturally-- you can like pictures from local businesses you hope to work with. Great job!

Having anxiety disorder, it can be rather crippling in certain aspects of life. Not so much the art side but the business side for me. Marketing is not my strongest point and i really struggle getting followings on any platform. I know they say it isn't all about the numbers but it helps when you got more eyes on your work and more people who know your name. 9 months in for me after too long in retail which is soul destroying...hoping I don't have to end up back in retail lol...

Yes, I did it with #flowers-- that worked for my art. I did it for about 6 months when I was building my account.
