I've spent some time with the Air-King and wanted to talk about it. in terms of Rolex, the Air-King is often seen as the odd one out. It has a very dividing look, but does that make it any less of a watch? Let me know what you think.

I have it and I love it. The fact that is different makes it interesting and a future collector’s object of desire. The Rolex which doesn’t scream “Look at me, I am a Rolex”. It is perfectly balanced both in dial composition and in weight distribution. Wears very well on my 7.5 inch wrist.
It's definitely an iconic watch and something dfferent. My favourite Rolex.
Agreed, love mine as to my eye it's the least showy Rolex that does what it's designed to do for those who know.
Bought one and I find it faultless, a truly great Rolex watch.
Very nice review of a polarizing design. You’ve made me think more about the Air King. I’ve been back and forth with thoughts of adding one to my collection. My wife absolutely loves the way it looks. She’s not much of a watch snob so when she sees something she likes, she doesn’t compare it a company’s philosophy or history. You’ve done that work for someone like me. Great video!!!
It's a fantastic watch. Very unique, especially when you compare it to the other watches Rolex has to offer.

I love this new model Air King. The thinner, less bulbous milgauss type case, the crown guards, the more refined Mercedes hands, the narrower bezel, the 05. Plus the more refined tool watch clasp.
The lumed 3, 6, 9 offers greater legibility over the white gold numerals that were sometimes lost in certain lighting. Maybe I would want lume on all hour markers if pushed.
For me, the Bloodhound dash was originally inspired by the classic flieger watch style. The bloodhound cockpit is nigh-on identical to an aeroplane cockpit and was “piloted” by RAF wing commander Andy Green.
It’s a fabulous embodiment of a modern Rolex Air King. And it looks the business.
Rolex did a great job with the updates. I was happy they kept it's unique dial.
Thanks for the review and images. I really liked the folded arms view. That really gives a much better idea of how the watch looks rather than what a lot of people do which is just the zoomed close up. Well done man. I plan to go into Kennedy soon and see if I can get one myself.

I think this should be the watch to get over the explorer. the watch community makes the explorer to look like the king but the air king is the real king.
I love the 126900 and brought one, I have the 116900 and won’t be parting with either of them. I did however sell my sub as I found it boring.

I waited in line for nearly two years for mine. I brought a few watches with me on holiday, but I just keep putting this on. It just might be my one and done.

Nice review. I like the Air King because of its messy dial, yellow crown and green Rolex text, smooth shiny bezel. All make it a different, non traditional Rolex.

Nice camera work and editing as usual! For me, not really a big fan of the pineapple aesthetics and crowded dial. But I think it's one of those designs that has to grow on you like the Seiko Monster for example. Asides the dial, everything about it seems superb. I like the size of the crown and of course the bracelet is excellent.
I've been recently looking into the Seiko Monster range. Some of their Thailand limited edition models and older references are so striking, but they are so hard to come by.
Pineapple aesthetics? What part of the watch looks like a pineapple to you? 🤣

Great review, this Rolex is the only model on my wishlist currently. I can't help but feel that the company has lost its way with much of the lineup combined with a bit of marketing madness.
Yeah, I was relieved when they kept most of the aspects of the previous Air-King.

Both are great watches. The no date sub is a true classic, one that will always be around. Although recent, I'm not sure how long this version of the Air-King will stay in the catalogue.
Awesome work here. However, it does have a professional use as a pilot’s watch.

Finally, aside from the Sky-dweller, Rolex put some thought and creativity into creating an outstanding watch and thinking outside the box. I’ve wanted to add a Rolex to my collection for a few years, but I did not like a single model. Then the new Air King came and without hesitation I pulled the trigger. Thanks Rolex for making a watch for the conservative…

I picked mine up at the duty free dealer at the Rome airport last month! Just got lucky. I absolutely love this watch. It’s so difficult to take it off my wrist for something else in the collection. 🙂

Yes! When I heard the news I was quite surprised. A king of the court deserves a king on his wrist.
I bought it a few days ago, i love the new airking. but buddy, try gloves in the gym, your hands are awful
Appreciate the concern, however, I'm not too worried about the appearance of my hands, the calluses act like natural gloves.
