  • We set out with a clean sheet approach to harness new battery electric technology with an architecture engineered from the outset to optimise performance, aerodynamics and interior space. The result is the 2019 Jaguar I-PACE - a true Jaguar and a truly driver-focused EV. For I-PACE customers - fuel stations are a thing of the past, after overnight charging they’ll wake up every morning with a ‘full tank of fuel’!

Jaguar have completely underestimated the demand for this car, they put a huge amount into design but very little thought to production. Mine is on order but there are many months waiting list, other manufacturers will catch up and they will be able to delivery.

Interesting, however a bit too much fake re-filming of history. No way are these the actual discussions among the designers. And click-bait: no footage of the actual production in Austria by Magna Steyer

I agree. Although this video might be excellent as it is, the title led me to believe that I would see a car being produced at their factory, which is what I am looking for, but didn't find.

I have an I-pace myself and I have turned the sound off. I have spoken to many other I-Pace owners and not a single one has the sounds turned on. Driving the car in 'silent' mode is just as impressive and more so at high(er) speeds.

In these types of cars software is playing a very important part. Tesla being based on Linux is, in my opinion, less safe than the I-Pace which is QNX based.

    • @Kuth70
      @Kuth70 5 ปีที่แล้ว

Tesla using an open source model doesn't equate to the OS being wide open. Parts of the source code are freely visible for scrutiny (the reason for which is actually more security not less). The OS itself is very closed off and secure in the vehicles. That's one reason Tesla has dragged their feet so long on allowing hardware connections via their USB ports (cell phones), as that provides a huge security hole.
I'm not saying QNX is better or wose than Tesla's OS, but Tesla's is a extremely secure OS by modern standards.

All very well is this video but let me say this to the people who actually thought about the battery I just wish you realise that the battery is one of the most troublesome item on the IPace why because at the moment I,am still waiting to have my battery either replaced or what ever you are going to do I wish to god I had never ever seen this car all I have had is problems with it my range now is not 299 you say it does but my will only do 130 miles before it needs charging up yet again why is jaguar having problems with there battery the parts is very slow to get

Sexy, competitive SUV, a sure EV hit. However, CU says Jaguar is one of the least reliable brands. It's always been that way. Sad. This would be a great time to 'get it right'. I wish Jaguar well.

Tom Blankenship is a troll. Judgment before proof. Is it Jaguar you hate or EV? Don’t answer, I don’t care for the opinions of trolls. I respect science so let’s see over time , so far the reviews and experiences are that it is a solid luxurious EV. With software updates it will be interesting how far it will evolve over time. Thank you Elon Musk for bringing EV into the mainstream, thank you Ian Callum for bring Jaguar into EV quickly and with style.

To be fair the reliability issues have mostly been with the engine. Electric drive train could fix this due to simplicity of moving parts.

Owned an iPace for 5 months and guys this video is a marketing stunt, This is not a complaint because my iPace is amazing and its my favourite car from over 20 cars i owned from 10k car to 100k car this is the best one regardless of the flaws. This comment is just regarding the video they say which is not the same as i experience.
    1. Design is not good the plastic bumper front and back is from a toy car its ready to fall off easily and if you need parts you have to get the whole bumper front or back and spray it aswell which could be 1000s even if its a strip worth £10 you just can't get it, Jaguar is a nightmare to deal with they pass on to the next person and even though i contacted them from head office then passed on to some parts wholesaler that jag own its just a nightmare to finally being told to contact a dealer classic case of passing the book
    2. Noise this car has noise coming out from everywhere its rattling everywhere like its a fiat chicechinto. They give you nice words from a factory with zero miles and not after its driving on UK roads for 3 years.
    3. Range max you will get after 2-3years old iPace 120miles.
    4. Manufacturing this vehicle must be in Chinese warehouse with no Quality Control, Unfortunately my front widscreen is falling off and water is dripping into the electrics this is down to the manufacturers not using enough glue or not placing it in correctly im not an engineer so not sure how this happened during production, Spoke to Jaguar and they are not going to fix it for free they want over £2,000 even though its their fault, Got a windscreen company willing to do it through the insurance but its not broken its a manufacturers fault so its not insured i need it to be broken to be insured 😅 I bet Jaguar will blame the robots for installing the glass wrong.
    5. Inside is actually genius and beautiful because it has old tech and new tech married and really looks amazing. Inside looks like a 100,000 car main reason I love it so much also with its 1000 features which you will love.
    6. Front and Back Boot perfect
    7. Car shape/body is 4/10 which is actually good because nobody really looks at it like you are rich which is good sometimes because they don't know im driving a super car in speed and torque so i guess thats a good thing but could look a bit better the side plastic strips ware from the outdoors UK weather when the sun comes out and the car is dry the side strips along the bottom of the doors look crappy and faded like plastic has been in the sun for years kind of a white tint to them which makes it look cheap.
This is really an amazing car and has the potential to beat Tesla i might just go and build a car myself to fix their massive issues. Main problem is Jaguar and Landrover have a bad name and i didn't know that until i done my research because of my problems so take that iPace and get it done properly by a different company it would be worth TRILLIONS yes with a T.
    8. Resale value because of the brand's bad name, Tried to sell my other Landrover and Jaguar been online and later as the cheapest ones in the whole country and didn't even get 1 call so bear that in mind before buying you will be waiting for long time to sell them and dealers will devalue your car like its been driving on 2 wheels whitout any doors or steering wheel 😂. Peace out guys...

Using Jaguar brand for 18+ years and this is my horrible review with the I-PACE.
I've had a horrible experience with Jaguar's I-Pace. I had the vehicle for a year, and have only been able to drive it for approximately 2k miles. It has had issues with battery, software malfunction, charging system, and even when you would try to start the car it would make noises. Its a shame that Jaguar has tainted its brand with such a problematic car.
If you want to be walking to places instead of driving, BUY a Jaguar I-PACE.

Sorry you’ve had such problems. I don’t know where you are located, but I think the dealerships in the US haven’t learned all of the software.
We bought a 2020 HS about 3 months ago for my wife’s 40 mile round trip commute. 1 black screen which an update cured. Took it on a 500 mile trip, speeds above 70mph the whole way. Range dropped as expected, but the car has worked flawlessly. 4500 miles so far.
I’m thinking about selling off my Mercedes cars, the XF, and the Lexus. Those other cars beat you to death compared to the iPace on a long drive. I commute 130-200 miles a day, but now there are chargers everywhere and on both ends of my normal run so this vehicle would easily work. Especially since I always spend an hour or two waiting on an appointment time or catching up on computer work. I can do that in the car while charging as easily as a Starbucks and save money by drinking cheaper coffee.
I’m jealous my wife gets to drive it every day.

My uncle has had very similar issues with his own I-Pace. I hope this isn't a taster of things to come with JLR. I'm aware of the horrendous quality issues with Range Rovers etc, I just hope Jaguar aren't being dragged down in the same fashion. I'm a Jag man myself, more old school though. I'm sorry to hear you've had problems.
