  • Can I drive a full electric Jaguar I-Pace from the UK to the Nürburgring in Germany and, once there, will it be as fun on a lap of the Nordschleife as a 'proper' internal-combustion engined car? Watch and learn!

Dan, Thanks for your video. In my opinion, you are living the dream. Road tripping in an EV and walking 2-3 minutes to get a coffee or meal is the ideal way to travel. A short walk gets the blood flowing and makes your whole day better.

"Nothing says because you like an EV you don't like a V8" so true. That'll soon be out setup at home. Old V8, cutting edge up ipace.

Not sure why camera was focused on the conversation and not the track 😕

Didn't know that there was an electric ring taxi. With all that talk of Tesla's struggling to complete 1 lap, and Porshe bragging that they can do 2 sequential laps, it's interesting to see that the i-Pace was slogging along doing 15 laps a day, with a bit of time to cool down between ring-taxi paced laps.

Thanks for sharing this "alien" experiance - well done.
Next time around the ring why not take a full front cam tour?
There are yet so many thing to learn in life ... and to enjoy.

6:21 I can't find any other sources that say that the back diff is an LSD. Anyone got some?

I’ll ask - at the time of recording Dale was working closely with Jaguar as a development driver and the Ring Taxi driver, so was very close to the team. I’m sure his intel was good on that basis but I’ll see what I can dig up!

    Awesome work.
Over the next 5 let alone 10 years, batteries will likely improve so much that the regen will be much more useful. Regen would be as strong as full acceleration. Even less use of the actual brake pads, or merely later lifting before a corner.
The I-Pace itself has room for improvement, such a car will soon do not 4 but 6 laps at the same price.

I agree and managing your regen the biggest skill in EV driving

I've got the full lap I took the overtake clips from so could post that up; I'll see about perhaps doing a voiceover. You can also read about the trip on PistonHeads here: www.pistonheads.com/news/ph-britishcars/jaguar-i-pace-to-and-round-the-n-rburgring/41505

I will never take 5 years for those HPC chargers. Ionity should have chargers near the track.
All those model 3 Performance / Porche Taycans and why not a I pace driver 😜
Soon a EV track day only ? Why not

Most EV drivers remain petrol heads they just get it that somethings need to change for rhe sake of others.
