Chiming in as an adult who was adopted by her stepdad as a child. Obviously I know you were joking about burning the adoption papers, but for the sake of answering your wonderings, the adoption papers aren’t the only “paper trail.” When you get adopted, you get a whole new birth certificate and social security card (I can only speak to how it works in the US). Your new birth certificate lists the name(s) of your adoptive parent(s) and fully replaces your old birth certificate.

The second caller was a great storyteller, and im really glad that everyone was okay in the end. It reminded me a lot of a girl i grew up with who got really into alcohol in highschool, she started having these kinds of problems around 17. Stuff like the running off and being physically uncooperative and uncontrollable, and it didnt always go very well. I wont get into it on a youtube comment, but a less bad incident was one night she was super drunk, running around the riverside with her foot cut open from broken glass in the river, yelling and not letting anyone look at her foot injury. So yeah, you just dont want something to get that bad.

I had a friend in school who always won the game two truths and a lie because her parents were step siblings.
Her parents met, fell in love, and married. During the wedding, their parents (both single) met, and they started dating and eventually married.
So her parents were husband and wife first and then step siblings later when their parents married each other. 💀

I graduated therapy in the way someone graduates middle school. I now have to do a higher level of therapy than just talk. I feel like that's the only "graduating" you can do in therapy.

51:15 OMG this person literally sounds like me with my ex-friends before I got diagnosed with autism and adhd, I’m not saying she does, I’m just saying I had the same self-destructive tendencies minus the alcohol abuse (although I did abuse weed) Like this is almost exactly how I reacted when I felt wronged or slighted or was too stressed. Although my ex-friends weren’t my real friends and didn’t take nearly as good of care over me. In fact our last blow out argument was after I had a bad reaction with my new anti-stress meds and alcohol. They assumed I just didn’t mind my limit, but I was trying to explain I didn’t know what my new limit was and had accidentally exceeded it. I actually felt like I might die and was in the fetal position on the ground, they didn’t do shit. In fact one of them yelled at me while I was holding back tears and shuddering with nausea. Something was clearly wrong and they let me suffer, being out of state with people you realized don’t value your life is absolutely terrifying.
I think Miles and Jordan just became besties
