Rainie is so real for saying that she thought she was listening to the podcast because that could literally be all of us haha
the way the call ended and rainie IMMEDIATELY had regrets/embarrassments from said call that just happened- is such a mood. she gets me
it sounds like the girl not invited to the girls trip is just depressed. distancing herself but being upset when they hang out without her, falling behind in school. it sounds like she just wants someone to make her a priority
Literally I felt so bad for her
Yeah her friend group seems yucky. They were not actually making hangouts accessible to her and not having one-on-one productive conversations with her. The caller acknowledged she might be depressed or in trouble and yet chose the most aggressive confrontation to deal with it. It's sad but being compassionate to people with mental illness or disabilities is still so new and how to do it is being learned even today. Healthy confrontation and conflict is just not taught sufficiently to kids and it creates these blown out of proportion scenarios later in life. I feel so bad for her friend who probably feels more lonely than ever and not even asked what kind of hangout SHE wants to do. I had a group of friends who only got black out drunk and would get offended when I said I didn't want to come.
@@herb_rolls3929she must be being pretty nasty for other group members to not want anything to do with her though. Mental health doesn’t excuse bad behaviour and it’s okay to set boundaries. Plus they’re young, they’re still learning how to have those conversations and navigate the world
@@BibbyLou99 Saying she must be pretty nasty is unfair speculation. I might need to listen to the call again, but I don't recall hearing any 'bad behaviour' per say. I heard about a girl who's stopped going to class, falling behind in school and not showing an interest in hanging out, and therefore making people in the group uncomfortable, leading to gossipy behaviour & potential ostracization. In my experience, taking those things personally and engaging in gossip is never the way to go, and instead, a genuine attempt at one-on-one connection could make all the difference in the troubled girl's life.

Feeling really sad for the girl the third call was about. Hope she's okay. She deserve friends who make an effort to understand what she's going through.
I think Will is right about the Scooby friend in the girls' trip call, it sounds like she is depressed!
(Irritable, procrastinating, not going to her classes, the sudden change in personality).
Being depressed doesn't mean it's okay to treat others badly of course, but maybe what Scooby needs the most right now from her (former?) friends is support and empathy.
I wonder the extent of what Scooby is doing though for other group members to not want to associate with her at all anymore
The third call triggered me because I was the other friend that was basically kicked out of the group and was in such a bad state and I really feel like the caller was not giving the full story and group facetiming to attack her friend is so mean 😢. I hope the friend who the call was about finds a group that actually cares about her
That third call was ROUGH to listen to! In college, also during our last year, one of my closest friends fell into a deep depressive episode, where she was missing class, not getting out of bed, missing group hangouts, was irritable,l and reactive, etc. and instead of abandoning her, or calling her a bad friend, we all pushed her into getting help & she ended up in therapy and on meds & eventually thriving… i feel so bad for the girl being cut out when she’s probably in a place she needs more support than ever! As a society, we talk about supporting and validating mental illness but it’s sad to see that it’s still just talk for a lot of people
Group facetiming your friend and attacking them because they are being distant is such a shity thing to do. You have no idea what is going on with them.

Yeah my brain just kept screaming “she’s depressed! Reach out and check on her!!” I know it’s tough to be young and figuring things out, but that poor friend is clearly suffering.

just being honest about the girls trip call. seems like that friendship is just over… no one is necessarily the bad guy. i get not wanting to invite the friend but if they dont then i dont think there is recovering from that. uni is ending and they will all move so its run its course. i hope that friend is okay and can get help if they need 😢

1st call - as someone who’s been dating for 4 years and has now moved away with the guy I had a crush on from a class in college, absolutely walk with him after class where ever he’s going and go the study method. Don’t be afraid to show interest to. Get a text convo going. If he likes ya, you’ll know. Like Miles says, the person you should be with will like you.

I think you should do a podcast episode for advice for ‘older’ people. Your conversation at the end shows that even though you’re young adults, you have some adult experiences and could give advice to people who are ‘older’ than your typical callers and give advice.
It took my algorithm far too long to put together watching specifically Miles try guys content in the past, and enduring the Stavros phone call podcast that is mostly disgusting questions, to put this in front of me. So excited for a new podcast in my rotation!!
