Learning and accepting that if I organize something and it becomes a mess again in a short time means the current organization doesn’t work, is a lesson I learned from Norrine. So then I just looked at it again to find a new way. Still haven’t totally resolved my combination office/craft room but I am making progress! And that makes me hopeful!
when I moved into my new craft room, I had 27 boxes of MISC plus most used items scattered around the house. following your suggestions, I am making progress. I donated about 3 boxes of duplicates to the school and found lots of stuff I didn't even know was lost. not done yet but progress is being made.
Mine too! But they take up so much room - and her craft room was too small for it..... she kept it, and is using it in her music room where she has more space. :)

Your situation was very similar to what I’m facing,(though I’m ashamed to admit mines much, much worse), Seeing how you sorted your things and how you were able to make it look so nice with a mix up of storage gives me hope! It seemed more real life to me. I love the craft rooms with the pretty ikea stuff but it’s just not in my foreseeable budget so thank you again for sharing your journey, I love your little space! So glad to see you again. You helped me so much purging and organizing my craft room. Its an ongoing project because i still have stuff i havent used in years but cant seem to let go. I need more space for my junk journal supplies and have been reorganizing my four tall bookcases. I had my 12x12 cardstock in paper organizers. I seldom scrapbook anymore so decided it was taking up too much real estate so donated them. Yay! Im almost to a place where i can actually open all the drawers in my room. Lol! Now...i want to find some way to set up my sewing machine too. Gotta think on that one! Hmmmm! Thanks for the sharing this makover...i love how you had both of you participating in the video!

Had time to watch you today. Been working on one of the rooms I told you about. Rented a storage unit. Packing up things and moving them there. Lots more to move. Furniture to sell or refurbish. Lots more to do. Glad I listened today. Macro organize before micro organizing was a great tip! Thank you.

Great ideas. I’d love to see a way to make a craft room also a retreat. My craft shed has turned out so wonderful that I want it to be a retreat that inspires, but relaxes too!
I've done the bookcase on top of another item before. It was hard reaching things on the upper shelves, but it REALLY did make more floor space. Which I immediately filled with another piece of furniture. (Eye roll here.). I'm still working on my space. I've decided that I'm not really an unorganized person, I'm just really easily distracted, I move from one project to another without completing anything until I'm so overwhelmed, I just leave the area and start the process over in that area. In my defense, I have physical restrictions because of an injury, so I HAVE to change projects frequently because of pain. Still, I hate trying to work in these conditions. Another big problem I have is that I have too many interests. I LOVE learning new things and find out after I've spent too much money and time on something, that I don't really enjoy that activity, but I'm so invested in it, I just can't get rid of the supplies. Maybe I'll need them for another craft! Urg. Still, I slog on and just debase myself for being such a fool! Think there is any hope for me? LOL. Love watching your redos; your crafts; your organizing tips; your insights and inspirations . . . YOU! Thanks for sharing. PS: I'm still having trouble viewing the Patreon content.
How about setting up 5-6 "Project" boxes. You can have up to this many projects in the works... to start a new one, you either need to finish or donate one of the existing box contents! By making this a visual limit, you may find you will go to them more often and finish what your body will allow you to work on. :) For the Patreon page - there isn't any extra content on that page at this time... but I think I will be adding behind the scenes videos soon.
Some projects, okay MOST won't fit in boxes, but the symbolic "Project Box" is an EXCELLENT idea. Thank you! I look forward to seeing good stuff on the Patreon page, if I ever figure out to get into it. :/

Thanks for the inspiration. I hope that one day i will get to say " I can easily craft here and its a relaxing space." I'm working slowly. I've sorted my paper, inks and colours, and now I'm tackling my glues and adhesives. They need to be checked to see if any if them are to be discarded. That should be collected and sorted by the end of the month. Always an adventure!
I really need you here in Canada. I am going to be getting a very large craft space as my hubby has moved his workshop out to the garage. I have not measured the space about 15x 20 feet. I am afraid to start because I don’t want to make costly mistakes.
@@TheCraftyOrganizer not sure when it will happen. He expects to move the rest of his stuff out by Christmas. After that I need to get flooring and paint or decide what to do about the panelling. I also have to talk budget with hubby because I sure could do some damage at IKEA with an open budget. That is not happening....lol. I will email you when I have details.

I have an old kitty litter container that I have cleaned. I want to use it to store play food for my granddaughter when she is not playing with them. Can you suggest how I can make it look like a nice storage container instead of an old kitty litter container. It is the plastic bucket kind with a plastic lid. Hi... I will have a dedicated craft room in my new to me home... My favorite crafts are creating deco mesh wreaths, making home decor using Magnolia Design Co. products. Diy crafting and home improvement. I also sew occasionally, but usually only have fabric for the project I'm currently working on. Hi I just happened upon your gutter storage on You Tube. Do you charge for organizing on line and or in person. I've either got to downsize or find a better way to store all my sewing and crafting. I have a hard time letting go. I still have my first embroidery/sewing machine and 2 other combination sewing embroider machine. Using the gutters for my large commercial size thread is a great idea. I am into embroidery, garment sewing, stuff animals, bags and fsl. I have my grand daughters machine and all her crochet yarn, paints and all her sewing stuff in another room. Family doesn't understand how to help organize and get everything in one bedroom and be able to craft. I have so much more that I have that needs to go or find a better storage so I can be working in one room.

Just pull out the pages for patterns you are interested in - then pass on the book to others. Senior/community centers have art programs and would love to have these types of supplies!

I just learned as an adult that I have ADHD and organization is not going good at all. My problem is I share room with my daughter for crafting . I space is limited and small
Try and create simple storage you can share! Keep category bins broad and drill down sub-categories by using baggies for easy access and easy to see separation.
I'm stopping Clutter Fairy so I can focus MORE on my TH-cam Videos, and viewer rooms. Covid has made it too difficult for my company to continue. I am taking this as a push in a new and exciting direction.

Acrylic/chalk paint or contact paper are the first things that come to my mind. Or stickers/labels, something that makes it hers 😊
Also you could mod podge material to it, just a thought! ❤️😀

I have so many stamps, ones I bought over the 19 yrs I've been making cards, plus 2 friends have given me lots of their stamps. So I need ideas of how to get rid of some stamps I don't really use. I don't know of any card makers in my area. Thanks for your help. Enjoy your videos so much.

My favorite crafts are creating deco mesh wreaths, making home decor using Magnolia Design Co. products. Diy crafting and home improvement.
I also sew occasionally, but usually only have fabric for the project I'm currently working on.
I'd LOVE to have your advice on making the most of my space, on a tight budget.

I got them from Ikea... but they discontinued the color. The line is called Tjena - You can still get them in white or white... and they have a new seasonal color/print every year. :)

Hi I just happened upon your gutter storage on You Tube.
Do you charge for organizing on line and or in person. I've either got to downsize or find a better way to store all my sewing and crafting. I have a hard time letting go. I still have my first embroidery/sewing machine and 2 other combination sewing embroider machine. Using the gutters for my large commercial size thread is a great idea. I am into embroidery, garment sewing, stuff animals, bags and fsl. I have my grand daughters machine and all her crochet yarn, paints and all her sewing stuff in another room. Family doesn't understand how to help organize and get everything in one bedroom and be able to craft. I have so much more that I have that needs to go or find a better storage so I can be working in one room.

I’m a want to be quilter. How do you get rid of quilting magazines that have patterns in them?
Just pull out the pages for patterns you are interested in - then pass on the book to others. Senior/community centers have art programs and would love to have these types of supplies!

I just learned as an adult that I have ADHD and organization is not going good at all. My problem is I share room with my daughter for crafting . I space is limited and small
Try and create simple storage you can share! Keep category bins broad and drill down sub-categories by using baggies for easy access and easy to see separation.

I'm stopping Clutter Fairy so I can focus MORE on my TH-cam Videos, and viewer rooms. Covid has made it too difficult for my company to continue. I am taking this as a push in a new and exciting direction.
