  • In this video I explain how to fix the cracks on my OBS Chevy Silverado truck interior trim pieces. When removing 20 year old trim for a color swap a piece or two is going to crack or break off. This video explains the tools I used to complete the repair along with how I used them. In the end my interior trim pieces were repaired and ready to swap to black. I am very happy with both the plastic welding and the fiberglass repair. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

Fiberglass is the best. I did the front parts of my panels that you see in the truck. Once sanded, primed, and painted it has a mirror finish. I even put "LS" on my panel below the steering wheel, its LS swapped obviously. Anyway it makes the panel strong and your paint options are much higher.

When I did these I wanted a matt finish. I didn't want any glare from shined plastic. I wanted the matt finish to contrast the billet shine. Your truck sounds like it came out great! 👍

Definatly, Check the description there should be a link to the tools and parts used in the video. I think it was like 30 dollars with the staples.

Yup. The sun absolutely destroyed my suburban dash not to long ago, and all the vinyl panels in my tahoe are warped.

My tahoe has the same problem. I have a dashskin on there for now will probly rip the dashout when I get to it. The trim is already out.

@@thisoldhooptie i feel like the 88-94 interiors hold up much better than the 95-99. The only thing cracked in my 94 is the dash and the interior has no creaks while driving. My 96 dash is bad along with many other trims- and it rattles alot.

Only my dash top and 2 metal clips popped off the trim when removing on my green 1992. My 2000 tahoe like yours had multiple issues. You could be right
