    You can’t bump back unless you unlock the bumpers x2 bonus, you have to follow the purple arrow if not unlocked

      I noticed that Tom was not following the purple arrows . He was bouncing around the bumpers in whatever direction he wanted with the dice results. But I enjoyed the review. But enjoyed the review. Made it easy to understand.

    An app that automatically rolls every say five seconds would be great, time pressure could really add to the pinbally feel.

    I love pinball and this game nails the theme perfectly. People think pinball is just random, but there is real strategy involved. Hitting the correct targets in the right order to get the highest multiplier possible takes a lot of skill. Great little game.

    From the red flipper, you cannot reach the ferris wheel, as it is yellow

    I’ve been looking forward to this since he announced the theme. I played pinball pretty much daily during my military service and still play whenever I find a fun table. Hopefully it shows up here soon enough.

    Just an FYI that there are two ads built in to the video (I know from the podcast that you’ve tried to eliminate them)

    Looks like a lot of fun, would love boards with player interactivity though. On the other hand, not sure how it could be done with the pinball theme!

    It’s too bad people have said it’s too long. I wonder if you could just house-rule to only play two balls and if that would remedy it? I’ve played pinball since I was a kid, but never really understood any of the terminology or scoring. This review helped me understand some of the concepts behind pinball.

      Same here, I always loved pinball but never really understood it until I played a pinball video game on the Game Boy Advance (Sonic Pinball Party). The manual included an explanation of scoring and it was easy to pick up since the boards were simple too.

      This is the same game as the pnp game you are thinking of. They released it as pnp first.

    I love pinball! I used to go into the arcades back in the day and play all afternoon with a couple bucks winning free games along the way. This really does a great job thematically. I was impressed when I played the P&P. From reading most of the posts here, I'm curious why they think it's too long? How long does it take to pick a die and cross out something? Tom played the bumpers wrong. You go clockwise initially. When you get the bumper bonus, you can go back and forth. Just as in any Roll & Write, It's all about the luck of the die. There's not a lot of mitigation other than skill shots. Sometimes it feels just like a real pinball machine. You can lose all your balls pretty quickly or sometimes you just have a great ball/round. I'm really enjoying Roll & Writes these days. Currently, my favorite is Welcome to Dino World. This one is on the opposite end of the spectrum. It's fun and I expect it'll be one of my favorite Roll & Writes.
    Would you do a top 10 Roll/Flip & Write with Mike, Zee, and Roy? There has been such an influx of R&R of late. Curious what you guys think are the best ones out there.

    Played the P&P, and while it felt thematic albeit in slow motion, it overstayed it's welcome by 10-15 minutes.

    • @bagookster
      @bagookster 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I felt the same way. Really thematic and enjoyable, but is a bit too long. And when you’re the last person playing, it’s no fun for others.

    • @Aquadoozy
      @Aquadoozy 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed, played the carniball pnp 2 players, and while it was really thematic, and had my pinball obsessed husband absolutely loving our play, personally it felt really long. We lasted for over an hour. Now the game was excellent, and any pinball lovers will definitely appreciate the gameplay, but the game would be so much better if it was a tad shorter. I hope the other boards are a step up in difficulty to keep things interesting & thinky. Still planning on buying it, but it will definitely be a game of the night instead of an opening filler game like roll & writes are usually meant to.

  • @nitorishogiplayer3465
    @nitorishogiplayer3465 ปีที่แล้ว

    Would this game run the risk of all players copying each other's moves? I've seen that happening before with games where all players can see other's decisions and are allowed to make the same ones, resulting in all ties. Because the dice rolls are all shared
    Or should we take the "simultaneous" part more literally and pick a target for the ball and reveal it on the count of 3, then score?

  • @nickhayes1626

    I have never had a desire to play a roll & write game until now.

  • @Zematus737

    I wonder why no one uses an abacus or soroban to track points, ammo, armor or health in many games. It's so much easier and faster than writing.

    Like other have said. The game drag on way too long. I don't know why this wasn't address during playtesting. Game can last upward to 50 minute+ if you are not "rushing" it... It's way too long for a game like this. Also because of how your first ball can affect the overall scoring. If you have a bad 1st and 2nd ball. Your 3rd ball feels terrible to keep playing (just quit and start over pretty much)... Yeah 3rd ball feel pointless

  • @britishbattleborn

    What an odd review. You spend 1 minute and 40 seconds bouncing around, illegally may I add, between the pop bumpers. Just pretend you rolled differently and had to move down instead of showing us this for so long.

    This is a game of luck. Not much to do. And a solo game. I dont see other players waiting while you roll non stop. And at your turn, you roll 3x and its over. Sorry, I dont see much in this game.

    • @winnie666
      @winnie666 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Daniel Champagne nobody’s waiting, there is no “your turn”, there is no “you roll”. it’s all simultaneous. somebody rolls, everybody choose a die and write in.
