at 6:38 you can hear how uncomfortable Rodney's Canadian nature is with the concept of tilting/nudging a pinball machine... I imagine that if he did nudge a pinball table he'd immediately apologize to it afterwards.
I'll admit I was skeptical about a pinball roll and write when I started the video, but you've convinced me! Will definitely look to get this one, thanks Rodney!
Oh boy I've been playing this on super hard mode. I thought you had to roll, say a 3, scribble off the 3 then on a subsequent turn, have to roll a 4 to fill in a whole double box! Took me ages to get any bonuses and skill shots! 😭 Thanks for pointing out my error 💙
This is an excellent game! And just as great as a solo game. I have one unexplored pinball table left in the box, so the expansion seems perfectly timed!
@@wyz1324 Just got this game in the mail today and came for the awesome instruction. But....ummm...I don't want to get anyone started on a new hobby or anything, but video pinball games can be built using a raspberry pi, a TV and a few buttons. I built an arcade machine this way and it is SOOOO fun. Thinking about building a video pinball machine... you can even add nudge mechanisms!
Looks super fun, but i have one big question. How about windows XP version? Joking aside, i played too much pinball in windows XP, now i wanna grab this one next. Thanks a lot rodney for this video.
I'm not sure how successful they were at replicating the feeling of playing a pinball machine, but it does seem like a game that's just challenging enough.
I live in an area void of pinball machines, so I will take what I can get. :-) I do agree, though. Nothing like the feeling of playing the actual game, though, including the satisfaction of nudging it.
I’m hoping that they have an app that makes the ping ping ping sound of a real pinball game. it would also be nice to have background voices and a little bit of music too. Sigh, do you remember when $.25 got you 5 balls per game?
Would this game run the risk of all players copying each other's moves? I've seen that happening before with games where all players can see other's decisions and are allowed to make the same ones, resulting in all ties. Or should we take the "simultaneous" part more literally and pick a target for the ball and reveal it on the count of 3, then score?
I've never had a problem with that, because even if players initially choose some of the same things, eventually they will have their own idea about what move is "best", and make different choices.
Rodney's next tutorial should be "how to play pinball," or his next video should be "watch me play pinball." Of course, I don't think he would do a good job getting a high score on a real pinball table. Anyway, nice tutorial.
question rodney, you can move your ball back to your flipper (give it a lil bump), but could you move it to an out lane from a flipper since the die faces are white?

I was thinking the same thing! Even though it's part of the experience, I can see him apologizing.
I would be a little worried about doing damage to it!
This is one of those games I’ve been tempted to buy and keep in my desk for lunchtime breaks. Love pinball.
This would be pretty perfect for that - and easy to pause.
I'll admit I was skeptical about a pinball roll and write when I started the video, but you've convinced me! Will definitely look to get this one, thanks Rodney!
I hope you get a chance to try it - it's been getting quite a bit of play here!

Nothing wrong with giving yourself a challenge :)
Flawless how-to-play
Thank you kindly!
Getting the game as a gift since we can't go out and play pinball with friends right now. Great explanation, thanks!
Have fun playing!
@@WatchItPlayed Thanks a lot! Waiting for delivery right now and tried the print and play table, which was loads of fun during a lunch break :)
This is an excellent game! And just as great as a solo game. I have one unexplored pinball table left in the box, so the expansion seems perfectly timed!
I would say it is even best as a solo game.
Yeah, I've enjoyed this with a group and solo too!
Rodney is awesome. I've used your videos countless times so it's probably time to support!
So glad to know you've enjoyed the videos - thanks for the kind words!
Oooo, thanks Rodney for the teach. I love Super-Skill Pinball and that unexpected teaser drop made my day!
Now I'm all excited and can't wait to play!
So glad you enjoyed seeing this one go up :)
Yay! Just bought it and wanted to see it in action to make rules clearer.
Have a great time playing Starman!
I played the PNP version and liked it. I’ll be picking this up. :)
Thanks, for the reminder, Rodney :)
You bet!
I love this hobby. The themes are so varied.😊 Now I wonder if I could find a real pinball machine for the garage 🤔
I would like a real pinball machine, but I hear lots of stories about how often they need repairs!
@@WatchItPlayed hmmm..🤔 yeah... I don't really want to do maintenance on another thing. I guess a boardgame version will have to do 😁

This one costs a few extra quarters up front, then you don't have to pay to play again :)
I love this game, thanks for doing a review so I can get my friends hooked on it too :)
My pleasure, I hope they enjoy :)

Did I miss how the Skill Shot section works? I don’t think you mentioned it - kinda wanted to make sure I was doing it right!
You missed that section. You'll find an index in the description to help you find the section of the video you might be looking for.
@@WatchItPlayed well dang-it you're right. Thanks Rodney! :)

I find your lack of faith disturbing.
Hopefully this means that the Ramp It Up! standalone expansion is coming soon. :)
I believe so!

Yep, sure could.
I was going to ask what happens if both numbers rolled was the same, but then you showed that means you only have one option. That number.
Glad the video helped with that question!
What if your dice don't match anything on the Ferris wheel level, do you drop one zone with the same dice roll, or you roll again and drop one zone?
Anytime you don't match a spot, you must keep dropping until you do reach a spot with a matching value.
@@WatchItPlayed Ok, thanks for the quick reply!
Any idea on retail release dates? Looks awesome. Ps: great shirt!
It's available globally now. The new Ramp It Up stand-alone expansion is scheduled to release in September.
@@gengelstein Awesome! thank you
Thanks to Geoff for the assist!
How Do I Get the Special Token Holders You've Used in Games Needing Them?
You can use this link to get them: boardgamegeekstore.com?aff=2
I am guessing more players can join with some printed sheets
Sure could!
Is this for someone who loves real pinball or hates real pinball?
It could work for either, I suppose :)
Did I miss it when you went over how to reset the board between balls? This was confusing for the one board that had the mini table.
He covered it when talking about the flippers, at 14:32.
Thanks to Temujin for the assist!
Wow…. You can make a board game out of anything….
You sure can!
And this isn't even the only pinball board game. There's also the _Paper Pinball_ series and _Special When Lit_ .
