I’ve made blankets with this stitch and the easiest way to have a scalloped edge on all four sides is to make your foundation chain then crochet the instructions for the first row but after that turn your work upside down then continue making the blanket. This way the bottom of the blanket has the scalloped from row one!
Very pretty stitch. Made a sample and turned my work upside down after the first row (which results in all scalloped rows). Worked well. Would also suggest switching to a hook one size larger for the chain row only. Will be making a baby blanket. Worked sample in #3 yarn.. Thank you for a great video:)
Lol, I watched your video and then tried to do it from memory later. I ended up making 2 double crochets, chain 2 and 1 single crochet in each chain 2 space. The scarf came out great! Made it with 3 weight yarn, H 5.00 mm hook and 28 chain foundation chain. Came out lacier thank yours, but I really like it. I didn't realize I had done it differently until I came back to be reminded of the foundation chain and starting row. Just goes to show, be consistent in what you do each row and it will come out looking good. Might not look the same, but still looks good!
Great tutorial! I noticed on your blanket (if I am seeing it correctly) there is a scalloped edge all around the entire blanket. Do you have instructions for finishing it this way?
Have you considered making blankets for the hospital to give parents when their babies die? My oldest died right after delivery and the hospital had a sweet hat, sleeper, and blanket to dress and bundle her in. I am just learning to crochet, but have been making the sleepers and donating them since because I know the huge impact it can have. It’s something mama’s can hold onto when they are unable to take their little ones home.
The Crochet Hook is made by a Company named FURLS. This crochet hook is by far the best, and I’ve tried and I own every hook on the market. This is a new crochet hook that the company came out with about a year ago give or take. I absolutely love mine. They cost about 32.00 each if I remember correctly. You can find them on their website.
Id like to know how to best donthe sides. Im sure inend up with more stitches than i should down the sides when trying to put a boarder on and pribably different amounts of stitches on either sides. Can you do a viseo on edging the sides?
This pattern was so awesome, I just love it. I have 1 question when I saw your crochet hook, it looked amazing. Could you please tell me the manufacturer of this hook I would love to purchase a set of them. 😊 Thank you so very much for your time.
Why would you make the top straight, as opposed to making the bottom scalloped to match all three other sides? Scalloped edging on all four sides is much more attractive.
Because - as stated in the video - I had questions about how to make the top match the bottom. This is only optional though. I kept mine as is since I liked the way it turned out.

Great idea with the ‘turnaround’!
Great idea using the ‘turnaround’ !
That’s what I did too. Prefer scalloped edge all around. I made a sample piece with 100% cotton and love it as a washcloth,

I really appreciate how you are taking time to allow us to learn and understand the pattern. Thank you1
You are so welcome!
Looking forward to making this blanket! I love the way you teach. Thank you.

I’m gonna try your pattern next 😂❤
Hope you like it, I think it was a happy “mistake “!
Super easy and super cute. Thanks for sharing.

I don’t. I just left it as is 🤍
Lovely blanket. I will give it a try. Thank you!
Pretty. Been considering making baby blankets to donate. Somewhere....

Beautiful. Can a ruffled edge be added to this?
That turned out to be a lot more easy than I thought it would be. Thanks for the tutorial. 💕
You’re welcome 😊
Very nice stitch, and very easy."Thank you for sharing.

I would like to know what type of crochet hooks you have and where I can find them because that looks amazing and comfortable

Wonderful and concise video. Really easy to follow with a beautiful result. I may use a lighter weight yarn and adapt it for a prayer shawl.
Great idea!
I am no expert on bird songs but I bet that this bird is a black bird. Thank you for the live music and a great stitch 🧶🌷🧶🇬🇧
I wish I knew more about birds! I always enjoy their songs 💕😌
What color did you use when making your blanket before this white one?
I think it’s called Moonbeam
Love this, thank you for sharing. Would you share the finished size with a starting chain of 138?
138 isn’t a multiple of 4.
She said chain 128, this divides by 4
You mentioned starting with 138 chains while the pattern is a multiple of 4 chains (136 or 140) - does one need to add the 2 extra as edge stitches?
I think she said 128, which is a multiple of 4.
It’s a very pretty stitch ❤️ I’d like to make a scarf with this, so could you please tell me what the stitch count is ? Thank you 😊
She says at the start it’s a multiple of 4
I made a scarf with 28 starting chain. Came out great!

This blanket doesn’t really need a border

❤❤ New subsciber! Beautiful blanket. What brand of crochet hook are you using please? Thank you!

Is this Drunken Granny stitch?

Because it is her blanket
😊
So it's flat for the face neck

OK,, this is my thought as well. I would like to see her flat side on her blanket so I can see the way it looks.
On your blanket, I didn't see the side of your foundation chain. I saw all the other sides they all have the scallop shape.
This looks like the Jamie blanket pattern
What is the name of this stitch?
Tulip stitch
@@SpottedHorseDesign Thanks so much!
O trabalho ficou maravilhoso, mas o acabamento reto ficou feio. Mesmo assim obrigada por ensinar!! ❤❤
