Character in the dinosaur series "Primeval" mentioned Love Island, thats how I first heard of it. That show has been and gone, but Love Island is still a thing?
It was a film & television writer's strike, about 30yrs ago, that brought on reality tv, brought back the 70s game and variety shows, and started the prequel, sequel, reboot craze in movies. All because they were cheaper to produce. The barrel scraping's been ongoing for Three Decades.
This show is like if big brother was exposed to some sort of dangerous chemical, had a deformed chemical laden baby, and then that baby had another, even more chemically laden and genetically defunct baby
True story I was in the same year and went to the same high school in Wagga Wagga as Takunda did before he moved to Queensland. I kid you not one time maybe in year 8 or 9 we were playing badminton for PE and he ran up behind me pulled my pants down while cackling maniacally. But he had decided to do this without even bothering to check for the teacher who was maybe a metre away from where I was standing when it happened. He was immediately reprimanded and made to apologise to me but I wasn't even upset at him. I was just dumbfounded. I just couldn't comprehend why he had done it since we barely interacted with each other in any way. It was just such an incredibly stupid decision with such a small payoff I was mostly left confused from the whole ordeal and was unable to wrap my head around what his thought process had been in the moment. Take from that what you will!
Would love to see a show like this but with a super regular person who has no online persona and they do private interviews throughout the show. "What the fuck is wrong with these people".
Generally speaking: Small talk = bad or forced conversation Banter = good or natural conversation The problem is that there are people who ask for banter as though it's something they deserve (You see dating profiles like "Good banter is a must"). They also act like if there is no banter, then it must be the other person's fault e.g "Don't be boring" or "Must be able to hold a good conversation". I used to think banter was a type of fish, because the same women who expected 'good banter' were also into fishing and camping.
Most women who put things on dating profiles like “must have good banter”, “don’t be boring”, “must match my energy”, (wtf does that one even mean?) etc. They are ironically the boring ones. They never have nothing meaningful or interesting to say other than how pissed up they got last Saturday, so they compensate by making sure the man is the one to carry and keep the entire conversation. All whilst adding nothing themselves so the bloke can’t even keep up the conversation because he’s speaking to a brick wall.

The Bonnyrigg FC jacket, yes! Bonnyrigg skatepark was my local park growing up. I saw some wild shit there. Used to be this 10ish year old houso kid that talked shit to everyone. So, I'm nearing the end of my teacher training course and we had one person who actually left the course earlier this year to go on Love Island. It was a minor scandal at the university and it was absolutely hilarious.
