When I was a teenager I figured out that cash converters gave you a flat rate of $5 for any PlayStation or Xbox game unless it was a new AAA title. I used to go to EB Games and buy all of their $2 games on clearance without their original case (I bought so many copies of sonic tennis) and sell them to cash converters. As there were multiple cash converters and multiple EB Games in my area I'd spend the day hitting up each EB and buying every single game that was sub $5 and selling them to the multiple cash converters, I made about $300 in a month doing this. It's because of me that cash converters has a rule of not buying any game without it's original case.

I had a similar situation. 7-11 had this promotion where if you signed up for their 7Rewards, they’d give you a ton of points, but they wouldn’t verify the emails were even real. You could type literal gibberish and they’d give you the points. I got a bag of chips and a brownie or soda every single day before school for a time period so long I can’t remember, it became routine until I graduated.
On top of that, you could refer a friend for points. I had a main account that I would use the “new” accounts to refer to, and just had it stack points. It had somewhere in the mid hundred thousand points before it got reset and suspended.
They’ve since added a non-voip phone number requirement, removed the refer program, and points now expire extremely fast so you can’t passively hoard even if you could. I’d like to imagine I single handedly made them change, but I’m sure other people were doing it too. I know damn well I abused it enough to cost them thousands.

As ya doing Cash Convertors, here's a funny story from here in the UK.
About 15 or so years ago, was waiting for my mate opposite a Cashie's while he was in the corner store getting a drink, as I was rolling a cigarette I watched a drunk bloke walk down the road, stroll into the guitar store right next door to the Cashie's, grab a guitar then walk out of that shop and into the Cashie's to sell it before walking into the store my mate was walking out of to get some beers. All while the guitar staff just sat there looking confused and not knowing what was going on. 10/10 skill fo that drunk.

      NC General Statutes - Chapter 66 Article 45 1
      Article 45.
Pawnbrokers, Metal Dealers, and Scrap Dealers.
Part 1. Pawnbrokers and Cash Converters.
      § 66-385. Short title.
This Part shall be known and may be cited as the Pawnbrokers and Cash Converters
      Modernization Act. (1989, c. 638, s. 2; 2011-325, s. 2; 2012-46, ss. 2, 4.)
      § 66-386. Purpose.
The making of pawn loans and the acquisition and disposition of tangible personal property by
and through pawnshops and cash converters vitally affects the general economy of this State and
the public interest and welfare of its citizens. In recognition of these facts, it is the policy of this
State and the purpose of the Pawnbrokers and Cash Converters Modernization Act to do all of the
      following:
      (1) Ensure a sound system of making loans and acquiring and disposing of tangible
personal property by and through pawnshops, and to prevent unlawful property
transactions, particularly in stolen property, through licensing and regulating
      pawnbrokers.
      (2) Ensure a sound system of acquiring and disposing of tangible personal property
by and through cash converters and to prevent unlawful property transactions,
particularly in stolen property, by requiring record keeping by cash converters.
      (3) Provide for pawnbroker licensing fees and investigation fees of licensees.
      (4) Ensure financial responsibility to the State and the general public.
      (5) Ensure compliance with federal and State laws.
      (6) Assist local governments in the exercise of their police authority. (1989, c. 638,
      s. 2; 2011-325, s. 3; 2012-46, ss. 2, 5.)
course not all pawnshops give enough of a shit to record all their transactions or big ticket items, even, but these comments sound like its the wild west out there lmao. If something of mine was stolen and ended up in a pawnshop, and it was provable, like having a custom engraving, there would be no asking to return it. It would be demanding my shit back from the store and they'd have to oblige.

    LOVE IT!
I worked at a Cash Converters for 3 weeks.
In Personal Loans. Had no experience but did some bookkeeping/accounting at Tafe and never completed it.
So once I had the loans thing worked out I started explaining to customers how much they were getting ripped off and they'd be better off with a credit card.
The store was also being audited so they gave us prefilled timecards to sign. I changed all the finish times to the actual time they let us leave (every day nobody was allowed to leave until ALL the money in each department was accounted for) the manager came the next day and made me sign a blank timecard. I folded and signed it. And then quit.
CC is the absolute last resort when you need money. Devastating so many of the customers were just born into that way of life and don't know any better. The day their pay goes in, all of their loans come out. And they'd call every week to see if they can apply for another one yet. 😓

Damn, wish I'd known you were taking cashies stories.
I worked at their Chapel St Store two doors down from Revs. What a soul destroying place it was.
I was spat at, abused, experienced multiple death threats. Two guys even waited outside for me to knock off so they could kill me. They got bored after an hour and left.
Constant encounters with the police. Found fucked up shit on peoples devices. Soooo much stolen stuff. Incredibly toxic workplace too.
The best though was one one guy came in off his face and grabbed a dvd player off the shelf before walking up to the counter and trying to sell it to me. I told him that I'd clearly seen him take it off the shelf but he tried to convince me that he'd brought it from home. Thankfully he was that out of it that he gave up without too much of a fight and left.
I definitely have ptsd from that place. Minus 10 stars

In Brisbane a few years ago the cops actually got two stores under police funds and had actual police running the stores. They got so much stolen goods they started a second store for their crack down on crime. One store was west end and the other was marooka, Moorooka and Indropilly worked hand in hand with cops daily providing reports of stuff taken in for loans or sales daily, those two stores were owned by the same person, probably a ex cop by the chatter in population of druggies on streets. Once the people found out what the cops were up to they avoided those stores like the plague and drove to other side of Brisbane to sell their stolen goods. Now they just sell them online.

I haven't been to a Cash Conartists since the 90's. I still remember some guy I knew back then decided he needed some quick cash and thought "Oh, this doesn't really belong to anyone important. I'll just go and hock it at Cash Converters so I can have some money for smokes or some other kind of drug." I eventually found out he had done this so I went to the loans area and told them they had given money to someone who stole something that belonged to me. The kicker in my description was the game that was in my Gameboy that was in the store's possession at the time. Thankfully it hadn't been put into the store yet so I was able to get it back.

Obviously it was an expensive instrument so he would get more than a grand for it each time. They made $thousands out of him. Anyway he got clean and was moving to Indonesia to live so he took his horn in one last time except he had swapped it for some piece of sh*t saxophone he had found. The guys at CC didn't even open the case as they were so used to him hawking it. So he took the money and was never seen there again.

10:36 In chess, en passant (French: [ɑ̃ pasɑ̃], lit. "in passing") describes the capture by a pawn of an enemy pawn on the same rank and an adjacent file that has just made an initial two-square advance.[2][3] The capturing pawn moves to the square that the enemy pawn passed over, as if the enemy pawn had advanced only one square. The rule ensures that a pawn cannot use its two-square move to safely skip past an enemy pawn.
