I think a lot of people forget just how incredible of a songwriter Tim Armstrong is. A cover like this shows just how truly great his lyrics and melody are. A true poet. Well done. This rips!!!
Fat Mike once said that a mark of a good song is that it's good no matter how you cover it, as long as the chords and melody are there. This is a good song.
@@colina1330 that’s a great quote. I met Mike once and he was a real asshole but he is a brilliant songwriter. I think his songs stand up with some of the greatest songs of all time. I respect his opinion on the craft of songwriting very much.
I am not going to get all emo 🖤 but Jesus Christ time is a real mother fucker. I’ve been on a hi fidelity type kick “ what does it all mean and why, why, why “. Thinking about the 90’s makes me tear up ALMOST. I just wish there was some sort of magic button that one could push to revisit the times where you don’t know it but has some of the biggest impact on your life. I guess I should just cherish the memories and keep them closest to my 🖤 and make sure I don’t forget them. The 90’s ruled though from our clothes to our music we officially had the greatest decade ever.
Well that was unbelievable. I vote you guys do the entire album with Paige doing all the lead vocals. Her smile brightened my day. You guys are amazing!
And Out Come The Wolves changed my life, still to this day the best punk/rock n roll album I have ever heard. What a great cover and tribute to what I thought was always one of Rancid's most underrated songs.
I was already really excited with how the song was sounding before Greg sent over his keys. When he sent over his part, I was floored. It brought the song to a whole different level, and was exactly what it needed. You can tell he had fun with it, and the final result is amazing. Greg rules !!!
how can anyone dislike this? I got And Out Come the Wolves when I was 12, in March 1996. I'm 40 now and still recording punk rock with my wife. This warms my heart in ways I know you can imagine.
This and your cover of Bonzo Goes to Bitburg are my favorite videos on TH-cam right now! Fantastic channel. Beautifully done, Mikey. Much love from Macon, Georgia.
This song makes me feel feelings. Tim's story telling skills get buried under the music but I wouldn't trade these songs for anything. Beautiful cover.
This might be my favorite Mikey and his uke cover! Great job! I love this cover so much. It does the original justice and even has its own flavor which compliments the original nicely.
This is just so good. No thumbs up or like could ever describe the feeling of listening to this beautiful cover, and that connection to your very soul.
Just perfect. This song does so well acoustic. Just a great album for songwriting and this was a great choice from it. Paige was so great. Everyone else was perfect. Just killing it every time Mikey.
Thanks Mike, really happy you liked it. I have no idea if this is true or not, but I'd like to think when Tim wrote this, it was on an acoustic. But I have no idea!
I have become a massive fan of Mikey and His Uke - such rad songs and such an awesome mix of musicians and cool people, but I keep coming back to this one, it’s amazing. I’m a big RANCID fan, this cover is super cool!
I've been listening to my original cd of "...And Out Come the Wolves" since '95 and know this song note for note. This arrangement gives me chills. Everything about it is gorgeous. The piano melody hits me in my soul.
I’ve always loved the compassion in the lyrics. Before I first heard this song, I probably had no idea that it was punk rock to be compassionate. In retrospect, it was one of the few select songs that made me know that I had a home in punk rock.
I love this! There’s nothing more punk rock than compassion! Thats why so many people find their home here. Its an open door…especially for those who need it most.
The first Rancid song I ever heard was Listed MIA. I was 14 years old ... And out come the wolves had just come out. I walked myself after school to the cd store and bought it. Been a rancid fan ever since. Thank you for this cover, brings me back to time of walking the halls in highschool with my head phones on, skipping classes because punk rock was so much more important then Romeo and Juliet
Funny driving home Olympia came on my play list. This is one of the best punk records of all time!!! Great Performance Guys!!! Keep up the great Content Mikey!!!!
@@MikeyAndHisUke So rare to find that. I heard Brett mortgaged his house to put out and out come the Wolves and Smash. Def an awesome move going all in on those 2 bands!!!

it's been over a year and this song still holds up as my favorite of all the Mikey Uke videos
Instant Paige Kopp fan after watching this. Oh my God does she sound great on Tim's vocals!
Paige nailed the vocals on this, and the harmonizing during the chorus was great. Nice work, this is going to be on repeat for a long time.
Definitely!
And trying to sing a Tim Armstrong sung song ain’t easy.
It’s just FANTASTIC
Yess, she is awsome. I already liked her in the Cover "if the kids are united" ...
Very happy you enjoyed it! Thanks for the kind words!
didnt think I would love this more than the original .... but I do.
Possibly the best female sung Rancid cover ever!

A great song for sure! Thanks for the kind words Quinton.
Couldn’t agree more 🤘🏻
The whole thing is fantastic, but for me I think the piano / keys is what really makes it!
