How did a group of kids write such classic songs? Truly incredible to hear this interpretation and to reflect on the decades of influence OpIv has had.
Fucking stars aligning perfect THIS MUSIC IT'S THE BREATH OF LIFE. KIA ORA (hello) Mikey you insanely good Man what you have been up to IT'S MUSICAL MAGIC AND MAGIC HAPPENS WHEN BROTHER MIKEY AND CO JAM I FUCKING LOVE IT AND YOU MIKEY YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH PLEASURE AND JOY YOU GIVING THESE SONG'S C.P.R AND REVIVING THEM......WICKED BROTHER

I was in the hallway at Epitaph offices about 18 years ago. Tim Armstrong was there the day I started. I was a new intern and I was holding back 50 tons of fanboy energy. I said hi I’m a new intern. He said thanks to me kindly. I said to him that the one band that changed my life was Operation Ivy. I held back tears and again that fanboy energy… I didn’t want him to know I was a square. I can recite every lyric to every song by that band… I’m grateful to have had the honor to walk around that building. Thanks for doing this Mikey. As a lifelong skater, punk and Rude Boy I can proudly say that watching some of your videos with my mentors and the people I respect most in this world brings tears of Joy. I love ya bro keep up the amazing work.
hell ya brother! thats freaking awesome you got that gig even. hell i got to meet the interrupters a couple years ago back stage and Aimee was super chill (beautiful as always) and my buddy told me to show them my ... and out come the wolves tattoo i have on my back... was super embarrassed. showed them and they all freaked and Aimee took a pic of it sent it to Tim. 5 mins later she got a text back saying that it was Rad. pretty dang cool of them.
Dude, Speechless. My favorite album of all time period. Probably listened to it thousands of times and everytime is as good the first when I was probably 13 years old. Thank you to everyone Involved! 🙏 Wowzers
I don't know how old you are, but I'm 40 and every time I hear it I jump around like a 13 year old I was when I first heard it. And I will until my body won't let me. I'll start no arguments about greatest punk band of all time, but this is the greatest band TO ME of all time
The Crowd's bass line Is simply insane! I can't stop listening to this song. It brings me precious memories of my adolescence. We would spend uncountless hours at the skate park listening to Operation Ivy, Nofx and Rancid. And Tony hawk, omg! Our idol! Thank you very much to everyone involved!
Energy came out when I was a senior in high school. A girl I was dating introduced me to it. We learned every word to every song. I still know most of it. It just amazes me that Op Ivy has stayed so central to punk rock culture for 30+ years.
I did the carpentry work when Tim Yohanon (Maximum Rock and Roll) put the Gilman Street Project together decades ago. It's still going. Operation Ivy played there many times. it was a sanctuary and home. A community. Thanks for honoring the scene.
Kia ora hello Mikey from Aotearoa new zealand. How are you doing brother? Hope you and your whanau (family) are doing Awesomely well I've got nothing else to say just wanted to check in and say KIA ORA HELLO..... IN PUNK WE TRUST because it's raw honest pure music from the heart
Wow! I can’t express how much I loved this one. Lint sitting in on the Tony vocals was rad, the thumbs down was hilarious. It was a great blend of old school and new school with the different artist. LOVED IT!!!
Been a tough couple of weeks, man. This is incredible! Couldn't have dropped at a better time. Thanks so much for everything all of you do! Keep it up and stay safe!
Hope this bodes well for the opiv reunion. What a fucking band. Talk about 4 ppl being in the right place at the right time. I can recognize all their styles from drum to bass to vox and of course guitar instantly. What a fantastic band! Thanks!
@Mikey And His Uke, this is, by far, my favorite video yet! Interrupters, NOFX, Tim Armstrong, Bad Cop Bad Cop, Tony Hawk, it’s like you were going through my punk favorites.
Awesome collection of "guests". Big fan of every one of them. So weird seeing Fat Mike nowadays.. especially when he's not in a dress! Keep up the great work and looking forward for the next one
hell yeah Mike, Tim and Tony in one epic song best one so far (except for the ramones covers those are beyond epic, I gues everyone would agree on that!?)!
Best one yet! The Crowd is a big contender for best song ever. The group of musicians in this one was just amazing. And Tim just hanging out, wow that put a big smile on my face. Kudos!!!
Thank you for putting this together and seeing Lint giving his approval is absolutely awesome and also Dave Mello is such an underrated drummer, especially during the song The Crowd.
I remember jamming this for the first time. My friend showed me out come the wolves and nofx punk in drublic. We would play the tony hawk demo and smoke weed for hours after school. Best times
Out of all the great things you've done on this channel, this is the best! Absolutely amazing. If there were any sense to this universe this will have a million views by the end of the day. Also, was Stacey playing a Fender Hellcat? Damn, I want one.
Thanks Adam! And yes, that's the Tim Armstrong model acoustic I believe. If you look closely too, you can see she's rocking a Fat Mike guitar pic as well.

Why isn't this on Spotify?
Aliens...
Oh man, seeing Tim with that Op Ivy strat... the Sound System riff at the end...goosebumps!
No kidding! That part ended *way* too quickly. Lol!
I swear I had goosebumps all the way through this one. Glad I'm not the only one!
First time I saw it I got goose bumps. I absolutely had to put it in the video.
I’m hoping it’s a hint to the next amazing cover by this same crowd. I’d add Darrin Pfeiffer and Stan Lee to the mix though.
actually seeing Tim playing is a rare diamond 😛
How did a group of kids write such classic songs? Truly incredible to hear this interpretation and to reflect on the decades of influence OpIv has had.
If you have to ask you'll never know. That's who write the best shit . No predisposition
Pure

Tony Hawk's vocal performance was surprisingly solid. I'm impressed.
Tony rules!
You need to check out the Millencollin cover on this channel. Tony does the vocals and its super bad*ss! It’s the best video on this channel.
Always knew he had an amazing taste in music but NO CONCEPT OF how good of a singer he was himself!
@@nealxl6256 No Cigar is SUCH a classic song as well!!
The fact that Tony Hawk and Tim Armstrong were shown hanging out in studio for this put such a huge smile on my face. What an awesome pairing.

Fat Mike and Tim Armstrong?!?! I don't know if you'll be able to top this one. Great work as always.
I agree, this may be a hard one to top. We're gonna try tho! ;)
They did a "split" album awhile back. Pretty great: th-cam.com/video/IxaVR3HaDKo/w-d-xo.html

Stacy Dee's vocals are perfect for Op Ivy.

Wow, Jaded was good but The Crowd with Stacey’s vocals was absolutely perfect. Well done!
Right?! So on
Stacey's voice is just pure perfection.
@@birdbrainpdx tony hawk really sucks
@@diegodefante not only that be he’s a rich kid who bought and stole his fame/tricks, and is NOT in any way a punk rocker.
Stacey has such an incredible voice. I love that rasp. She killed on this.
Tony hawk and Tim Armstrong... Super odd music duo. Let's see more! Love it!
The Crowd's bass line Is simply insane!

Certainly an iconic record that will always stand the test of time.

I was stoked for that too. He did a great job.

The Interrupters Twins rhythm section is so good... I would imagine that playing bass on Op.Iv songs is prettydaunting.
This is outstanding
I didn't read the full video title, and I was NOT PREPARED for Tony Hawk screaming 🤯
The dream team ! Increible, gracias por el tema. Hawk singer ? Ya lo vi todo.
Bravisimo !!
