    In this video, I delve into the nuances of trail shoulder dynamics in golf and its pivotal role in determining the low point of a swing. Drawing from my personal experiences and years of coaching, I showcase specific techniques and drills that can refine shoulder movement in a golfer's swing. With the help of tools like an alignment stick, I highlight the distinction between proper and improper shoulder positions, elucidating how each can alter the ball's trajectory. Moreover, I emphasize the crucial connection between the arm and chest in achieving optimal results.

    Yup, this video was for me. All other parts of my swing were pretty good, but my trail arm was stuck behind, preventing me from placing the low point farther forward. Now, with the drill and concept in this video, my trail arm is in a better position to allow the handle to travel past the ball before the release. Golden! Thanks, Trevor!

    Tremendously good video. My right shoulder has some rotator cuff issues where I have limited ability to externally rotate so I would have trouble getting in a elbow first throwing motion and I would naturally gravitate to a flying elbow over the top motion. After watching this video and the right shoulder movement rotationally it was wow I can get my right arm in front of me without cranking my forearm and elbow backwards in a throwing motion which I can't really do. This feels much more naturally rotating thru impact. I always thought the advice to keep your right shoulder back so you don't come over the top was odd and kind of contrary to rotating your body like you're supposed to hold your right shoulder back but then be slightly open at impact? Your advice is great and works and feels more natural to me, thanks for the great video. I also loved your "How to Manage Tension in Your Golf Swing" video that was a great concept video for me

    I love this drill Trevor. I have so much trouble with low point control and impact. Never the same from day to day. Question; when practicing this drill or actually swinging this way, is there a rule of thumb as to where I should position my ball for my sand wedge, 8 iron, 5 hybrid, or 7 wood?

    • @tsgolf
      @tsgolf  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I relate all ball positions off the lead shoulder joint! If you struggle with low point control I’d place the ball position with all irons 1-2 balls back of low point (driver in line with low point).
      From here do the drill and emphasize making a divot after the ball. You might pull this at first but the first goal is to gain control of contact!
      Hope this helps!

    Who would have thunk a little stick under the armpit would be such a great visual aid. Never seen that upper arm movement described this way before. I've even seen some instructors claim that it was bad to try and work your trail arm across your chest, but this does make a ton of sense for establishing proper low point in front of the ball. That's something I have forever struggled with. I'll have to wait a couple of weeks before I can try it out because I sprained my left wrist a couple of days ago.

    Can you explain why your method is so effective without the standard Pro Video re the Down Dip .... I hate it .... ahahahaha ... thxagain

      Thanks for the feedback and kind words here! Appreciate the feedback!
      I am a big believer that how setup the backswing and move the transition is what creates the downward movement we need. Not saying sitting into the ground more helps produce more speed but controlling low point I think is far more important. Having trail side higher than lead side at the top, staying in a down hill feel in transition allows the trail said to drive low point forward and around!
      Hope this helps and let me know if you have any questions!

  • @jiaweiwang6994
    @jiaweiwang6994 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Amazing information like always, Trevor! One thing keeps confusing me is that the “depth” of backswing. Some say no need to be super wide on backswing, others say be wide and create depth, but it’s hard to not letting right arm go up and/or have club head stuck back to the body. Any chance to clarify? Thanks!

    • @tsgolf
      @tsgolf  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What I’ll do is make a video on this topic right here to post on TH-cam. I do believe for a stock model in building symmetry when possible which would be grip handle depth in line with trail heel. It will also depend on height, and arm length as well.

    Does the right arm and the right side provide power and speed in the downswing I've been taught to let the right arm right along and I don't think that's correct what's your comment

    • @tsgolf
      @tsgolf  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The bending and straightening is one of our power accumulators (golfing machine). This arm also helps in providing and maintaining width.
      The pronation and supination of the forearm is another power accumulator (this video just helps show you how it can be used and also the relationship of what I call square).
      Hope this helps and thanks for the comment and question.
