I’m very scared. I’m questioning my sexuality. I want to honor God and I love Him. I’m trying to start this charity project at school to do something good, I feel like it could be the big thing I’ve been waiting to do but I’m scared God won’t love me anymore.

We have been taught a terrible manifestation of God, if we believe that God could stop loving us for something like our sexuality! It's toxic teaching, sweetheart. NOT TRUE! Actually, there are only 6 scriptures (Not sure what qualifies as "so many") - and those scriptures have been mistranslated, edited, changed, and twisted to wrongly condemn our LGBTQ brothers and sisters. For example, a passage that originally said "man shall not lay with a boy" was changed to "man shall not lay with a man." Also, another passage was changed in 1946 when two words, having nothing to do with same-sex relationships, were smushed together and the word homosexual was added to the Bible - for the first time. I have been a Christian since I was six years old and I was about thirteen when I knew for sure I was Gay. Believe me if I thought that the loving God who created ALL of us would send some of us to a place of ETERNAL PUNISHMENT just because they did not follow a narrow set of rules set down in a book a few thousand years ago and translated NobodyKnowsButGod how many times, I would have left the Church decades ago.

Thank you for this. I grew up Pentecostal church and was very involved in my church. I tried for the better part of my younger life to *change* because of the view of many who I loved and respected in my church community. I found a church that felt very open and accepting. After about a year of going there and telling other LGTBTQIA people about this church I believed to be a safe haven for people like us, my former pastor changed his tone and said that homosexual thoughts and actions were going to send us to hell. I walked out mid-sermon. I was absolutely devastated. I haven’t been back to church since and this was a few years ago. I’m hoping someday I can find a church that is truly accepting. I feel guilty for inviting my LGBTQIA peers to that church. One of my good friends were two married women and they became highly involved in the church. I know they were incredibly hurt by this too. The church since then has failed and I was the first to leave.

When you said John 3:16 I started to cry and paused the video because ever since I found out I was bi I have always referred back to that verse because it was the first verse I learned and probably one of the most important because it says “for god so loved the world ” meaning he loves every one for who they are. These are just a few. There are many more. This woman is a liar. God is holy, you can't purposely live an unholy lifestyle and make it into heaven, despite what this lady says. You either love God enough to stop or you don't. Also, she lied about what Jesus said. The following are only two passages where Jesus is speaking but there are more.
Matthew 7:21-23 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who DOES THE WILL OF MY FATHER who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’
Matthew 18:8 And if your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life crippled or lame than with two hands or two feet to be thrown into the eternal fire.

Actually, there are only 6 scriptures (Not sure what qualifies as "so many") - and those scriptures have been mistranslated, edited, changed, and twisted to wrongly condemn our LGBTQ brothers and sisters. For example, a passage that originally said "man shall not lay with a boy" was changed to "man shall not lay with a man." Also, another passage was changed in 1946 when two words, having nothing to do with same-sex relationships, were smushed together and the word homosexual was added to the Bible - for the first time. I have been a Christian since I was six years old and I was about thirteen when I knew for sure I was Gay. Believe me if I thought that the loving God who created ALL of us would send some of us to a place of ETERNAL PUNISHMENT just because they did not follow a narrow set of rules set down in a book a few thousand years ago and translated NobodyKnowsButGod how many times, I would have left the Church decades ago.

Thank you for this. I grew up Pentecostal church and was very involved in my church. I tried for the better part of my younger life to *change* because of the view of many who I loved and respected in my church community. I found a church that felt very open and accepting. After about a year of going there and telling other LGTBTQIA people about this church I believed to be a safe haven for people like us, my former pastor changed his tone and said that homosexual thoughts and actions were going to send us to hell. I walked out mid-sermon. I was absolutely devastated. I haven’t been back to church since and this was a few years ago. I’m hoping someday I can find a church that is truly accepting. I feel guilty for inviting my LGBTQIA peers to that church. One of my good friends were two married women and they became highly involved in the church. I know they were incredibly hurt by this too. The church since then has failed and I was the first to leave.

Your parents are probably scared and indenial to your situation. Give them time and just be yourself they need time to sink it all in and surely by then they will realize they have no choice but to support you because its your life and youre the one living it and all they can do is to guide and support you. Life is hard I ain’t gay or nothing but my friends hate them. They speak of them as lesser humans. I’ve never minded gays they’re alright from what i seen. Wish they would understand the pain of people not liking you cause your gay.

And for hearing people say that you'll go to hell for being part of the LGBTQ community makes me so sad and so scared. I was good for so long, I believe in god no matter what...I just wanna be with my mom. I tried fighting the bad thoughts of people saying that you'll go to hell for being part of it but...I have to remember that I was created by god and he'll love me no matter what. How could God give you a female body and a male brain and then when you reconcile those two things, punish you for all eternity? No. That would be the cruelest possible imaginable God. That is not the God Jesus shows us. Jesus shows us an amazingly kind God. It is people who can envision a cruel God, not Jesus.

When you said John 3:16 I started to cry and paused the video because ever since I found out I was bi I have always referred back to that verse because it was the first verse I learned and probably one of the most important because it says “for god so loved the world ” meaning he loves every one for who they are.
Not long before I watched this video I was crying and asking myself what if this verse just means he loves me and not support me
Yes baby, you continue to listen to that verse as you've always heard it! Yes God loves you AND supports you! Only humans make up this useless distinction that they "love" you but "can't support" you. That's people so they can feel like they're still being loving as they reject you. No. :) God doesn't do that! You still right in the peace you first found--you got it right!
