    Great Matt. Well done. I put same seed down and left it almost 6 weeks. It was getting very long in parts. Just gave it a cut yesterday with rotary mower on high setting and its looking well. I have also just bought a cylinder mower but not yet used it yet. Thanks for your help.

    Top dressed my front lawn with the All American Seed. Very impressed with the germination and growth. The dark green colour is amazing. Keeping it at 40mm and managed to get the cylinder mower on it between all the rain we've been having. Crazy stripes! Now thinking of doing the same on the rear garden! Cheers Matt. I’ve been watching your videos since the beginning of March and you inspired my to renovate my lawns. I bought your seed and Pre-seed fertiliser and followed your video recommendations. I watered all April and at one point didn’t think my seed was ever going to germinate. However, now things are looking amazing. I’m inspired to keep going. My friends are now remarking on how green and lush it’s looking and nicely striped. Thanks for all the tips. I’ll be keeping watching. 👍🏻😃

    You know when someone mows a lawn and it looks better after it's been cut, they know what they are doing. I also think that having a bit of patience with the way the weather etc is this year is definitely a virtue. Nice job Matt.

    Hi Mat, this is going to sound a stupid question, but could you do a video on how you cut grass please. I mean, where do you start? What’s the first line, then the next etc. I just go up and down mine and then maybe 90 degrees using the same method. You seem to go down a line and then go back down a line you’ve cut, then past the one you cut and go up the way.... Sorry if this is a newbie question. Just really interested. Thanks.

    • @GardenLawncareGuy
      @GardenLawncareGuy  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I'm thinking about doing a stripes video, I do that pass thing to get double width stripes so the grass folds the same way to create a double stripe pattern

    I live in Liverpool. I scarified my two lawns. My back one in September last year. My front lawn in March this year. The last 3 weeks I have been lifting out loads of grass weed, just like you. Is this usual after scarification, (it’s the first time I have done this) or is this due to the weather conditions we have had in the north of England ? Finally I have just pulled out so much weed that I have top dressed and seeded about 1 square meter. Have I done the right thing in your opinion? Keep up your good work

    I have been advised not to apply iron to a newly seeded lawn. I bought the seaweed extract that you recommend. You have used it but it does contain added iron. I am hoping a second application will not harm the grass which is only 7 weeks old. I sowed it in early September and it is not coming through as well as the one I sowed in May understandably. I will overseed in spring.
    A dilema...how can I fertilize what will then be a 7 month old lawn along with the overseeded areas?

    • @GardenLawncareGuy
      @GardenLawncareGuy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Janice the seaweed extract should not contain iron. The reason for not applying iron is it can dehydrate new grass seeds when germinating. If your lawn is 7 weeks old in autumn and it needs a boost you can use this now as a main feed which is exactly what i do gardenlawncareguy.com/shop/fertiliser/glg-autumn-dark-green-fertiliser/

What should I do and what order as I feel that I am running out of time this year? I live in the UK and have been using some tall fescue seeds as I have shaded areas in my lawn. Kind Regards.
