I was moved by the kind hospitality of the sushi place. It proves that even if there is a language barrier, communication is possible if you are considerate.
You guys deserved a Hotel Archives after that trail!! Bit of a bummer poor Bryan missed out ☹️ I’m sure he’s watched this enviously. I seriously don’t know how you guys have under a million subscribers. Funny, informative, and fun! Thanks for sharing your travels with us!
This is arguably my favourite episode you’ve done. I’m super excited for the next road trip that’s coming soon! I love when you hike, camp and what not but there’s something so cozy about this that I just can’t explain.
Hi Guys, American checking in. I LOVED this video. I’m a 66 yo female, 2nd generation Scott and German living in a small hamlet in western Washington. I may never get to Japan but I hope I’m wrong. If I’m right, this was a truly exceptional visual experience trip through Japan. Please keep up the good work as I imagine there are many of us out here who so enjoy your trips. 😊
Guys, I've had the absolute pleasure of watching your videos since the very first one. They just keep getting better and better. Keep it up I really enjoy them!!!
Japan, that fascinating Far Eastern country, is a place where opposites coexist: the future and the past, technology and nature, pop culture and ancient traditions. From the northernmost tip to the southernmost point, every prefecture offers must-visit spots, hot springs, and delicious, unique cuisine. No matter how remote the location, it’s always clean and safe. And of course, there’s a deep sense of respect and honesty. It’s a country worth exploring slowly, over a lifetime.
Man, I can’t believe I stumbled upon you guys today. What a treat, and an awesome way to sink into an afternoon. You guys are my ideal travel buddies. A perfect combination of down-for-whatever and curated off-the-beaten-path traveling. Wishing you all well and safe travels!
Sugidama 杉玉 actually represents a sake brewery. Since it was all dried out it showed that they currently were not brewing sake. Sake was traditionally brewed during the colder months.
This was the best video. 💙 It was so great seeing you guys relaxing and exploring “wandering” in different towns and cities. Felt bad that Brian missed it. But That walk to the huge desert beach at night was INSANE!! Very Spooky! Thanks for sharing your trip!!
Good morning, good afternoon, and good evening. Can you give a shout out to my wife, she was a huge fan of this channel and past away of brain cancer on 07-25-2024. Here name is Anna. Peace and love and stay blessed my brethren 🙏
That was a fun trip! A more relaxed adventure after the Kumano Kodo. It was unfortunate that Bryan couldn't be part of the final trip. Nice touch with the apologies to him in the credits 😂 Andrew Lin he's cool...ish 😎🍦 Shoutout Vancouver!🙌 Also @DanVolkens cameo! 👊 🥋 Arigato guys! 👍
I've seen a few Takayama, Shirakawa-go videos in the past month but yours is the best and I'm not surprised! The cinematography, the script, the activities and everything you showed us, 10/10.
I love travelling by train through countries! This is lovely and such a great idea for a trip through Japan! 🤩 I can also highly recommend doing the same sometime through Norway, we also have very rough but gorgeous countryside for hiking (many many trails and mountains to climb 😝) and you also get spectacular views from the comfort of a train when crossing the country ☺️ (no onsen but we do have sauna! 😝) I love seeing these historic villages and the food and onsen looks soooo luxurious! ❤️
man i miss japan so damn much! It spoiled me! I long to go back soon. Greatest country on earth nothing even comes close! (aside from USA obviously) can't say I care how people think/say when they read this. Oh well.
Wow, looking forward to watching this later. Your Kumano Kodo videos were our template for our own Kumano Kodo trip which we completed a month ago. We even stayed at the same places, thanks to your recommendation. Unfortunately made the fatal mistake of not renting a car for hiking in Takayama
The stick and ball game you guys played at Hida No Sato is called Kendama. It has a niche following, but there are very skilled players out there who participate in worldwide competitions and create edits (much like skate videos). The spinning trick Robby did was actually very clever for beginners to the game. Cool to see something that was apart of my childhood pop up in this AA episode
There's a really beautiful outdoor onsen in the Saikonawara Park in Kusatsu Onsen! I had the privilege of being there earlier this year and it involved a slightly sketchy icy hike through the park but, you get to enjoy the hot onsen under the stars and amongst the snow , trees, and mountains. Just gorgeous.
We actually had looked that up! I can't remember why we didn't end up going, I think it was just a lack of time to get there, but it looked amazing. Next time!
Oh man now THIS is what I want to see -- the in-depth exploration of Japan, not just the mountains! No offense but I ain't a fan of hiking; I started following Robby's Japan videos during the Covid travel-ban years. You guys' Japan videos are the best out there! Can't get enough!
My Dream is to some day live in Japan So watching all of your guys adventures travel through the country only solidified that haha and I really enjoyed watching you all explore Japanese, one day hopefully I can visit some of the places you guys found ☺️💗
Japanese has two words for apartments. apaato アパート and manshon マンション. Apaato is really basic accommodation common in bed towns of Tokyo. While manshon are more sound proof and use better materials. Most apartments you see on TH-cam videos are manshon. It has only a vague connection to the English word mansion, which is a luxurious house.
Love Takayama! I thought the early closing of stores is due to the winter season when we went there. You should have eaten at the restaurant where you took a picture with the cow cutout hehe and also try hida beef sushi! Hida beef > kobe beef for me haha
I’ve been thinking about doing a live concert for years now. It’ll take a bit of doing, but I think we could actually find a way to do it with a live band. I’ll start thinking about it harder…
@@RobbyHuang I would even travel to Columbus. One of my best friends is a big shot at the Local TV station... might get you some good press too. In fact we are going to Hocking Hills for our Fantasy Football draft this year and I shared your video with my buddies.
'meat rice' (rou fan) was one of my favorite things to eat when I lived in Taiwan - cheap, available everywhere, and delicious without fail. it's gotta be ubiquitous in any rice-growing culture that isn't strict vegetarian, and since it's made out of actual pan drippings, it's a great way to use the meaner cuts of meat and still make something tasty. edit - I'm halfway through and my food jealousy is at an incredible intensity >H

My wife and i just returned from our first trip to Japan. It was beyond fantastic. ❤
The sushi restaurant segment was so heartwarming! What kind people!

Agreed! The roadtrip-style episodes are a lot of fun. Thanks for watching :)
Poor Brian :) he tough it out for the team only having to go home and skipped out the relaxing portion.

Y’all are awesome. Every adventure is very enjoyable and I just want more and more.
Absolutely another amazing video from you guys!
Been needing more hotel archives in my life. 😂
I'm about to head to Takayama, Shirakawa-go, and Kanazawa next month, so the timing of this video is perfect. Can't wait!

The slow motion rainfall under the lantern.....❤

I love the video of the stars at the beach - the whole video is colorful and so much fun to watch! Thank you!

Thanks for the trip guys! Nicely done!
20:48 double rainbow all the way!!
That metal gear solid skit at the end was absolutely legendary!
Great video; thanks for the Onsen Hotel Adventures Archives.😀
you guys should take a trip to Patagonia, it would be amazing
amazing video as always!
The cinematography is always amazing!! looking forward for more roadtrips content. ( I hope brian can join )
That looks like an awesome trip! I can’t wait for the next one, excellent work guys 👍
Can Darrell plan my next road trip? 🤣 Looks like you guys had a blast!! 💞
I love your videos. I always think of how wonderful it would be if I could travel to those beautiful spots with you. Thank you for sharing.
I fell in love with Amazake when I was in Kamakura in the fall. Soooooo good.
Ah yes I was waiting for this video! This is definitely fueling my desire to visit Japan next year. 😅
Such a treat to get the train ride too!
I never thought Thomas could be that hilarious @1:32:12 😂😂😅
Need a second channel - #FoodieArchives . Great descriptions with humor ; intelligently conveying your story
very, very impressive! I couldn't get over how clean everything was. No trash on the streets or on the sides of the roads. Is that a fair assumption?

Beertastic, great episode., The Boys always make food look and taste so good, I’m hungry
8:14 those are celosia! Also known as "cockscomb" since they look similar to the red part of a roosters head called a "comb"

Thank you!
I’ve missed you guys!! ❤ u
Enjoying from Idaho!
The lard snack, my parents used to do something similar but with the oil that sits on top of adobo. So it already has both fatty oil and soy.
Those food looks so yummy 🤤

I would gladly pay to enjoy you playing a concert of some of your jazzier music. I love it! I am just up in Ann Arbor.....

Check out hiking in Kyushu! There are plenty of trekking and the ocean coasts are so beautiful.
Also Nagano's Yarigatake.
So where's the GoFundMe to send Bryan on a spa weekend? 😅
Totally need a GoFundme for Brian.
Love you videos my friend!! ❤❤❤❤
It was nice to see areas with no graffiti
Fun adventure

私は日本を再発見しました。ありがとう!
Since Kumano kodou, I have been watchin you😊
Why don't you cylcling Shimanami kaidou in Japan by cycling, going throuh islands and huge bridges?
that transition at 34:42 is next level. One of AA's best videos (and I'm typically here for the backpacking)
i see what you guys did there with the title 😂😂😂
How did Andrew like the Danners? I swear by Mountain 600s but am torn between those danners and good old new balances for summer trips

59:52 andrew, columbus has 2x the population of kanazawa. but it has the thurmanator....?
Kanazawa punches above its weight size wise. Everyone who travels there seems to enjoy it including myself.
@@deanzaZZR my point was in relation to andrew saying columbus was a "small city", seemingly as an explanation for why it lacked markets.
