- It's our first time onboard the Royal Caribbean ship Independence of the Seas! Join us as we explore the ship from finding ducks to trying to determine what's art. See how we handle the first day onboard and offer up a few tips and tricks along the way.
We are going on Independence 4/24. She was our first cruise..10 ago.. And am excited to see it since being refurbished. I truly enjoyed your video. 25 more days for us 4/10. Last time on Indy was 2010. 8 night Eastern Caribbean.

Great videos! Just have a question about the wifi package. Do you and your wife both get one? So far we’ve just purchased one for me and my husband will put his phone away. Any advice for newbie cruisers?
Thanks. Call us crazy but we didn’t purchase the Wi-Fi package at all. It was a relatively short cruise and it made it nice to be disconnected to a certain extent. Once we got to Nassau we jumped on the Atlantis wi-fi. But in terms of communication on the ship we just used the Royal app which is free to use.

Thank You! We did the late dining, 8pm. It was nice to be able to just use more of the day rather than rush to dinner. And, if we got hungry between lunch and dinner there were so many options for food it really wasn't an issue.
How did you get the window seat in the main dining room? Did you call before the cruise or ask once on board?
We had put in a request with Royal a few days prior to setting sail.
if you dont pick a dinning room time can you just go any time and wait to be seated or no because you dont pick a time do you opt out of the dinning room then?
My understanding is that you have to choose a dining option prior to boarding, whether that be one of the set times or the my time dining option. You don't have to eat in the main dining room on any night if you don't want to.
Big QUESTION, when was this cruise taken???????
This one was July 4th week of 2022.

Did you call before the cruise to request window table? Or did you do it once you got on the ship?
Hi Ross. Sorry for the delayed reply, We just got off if Independence again this past week. We e-mailed the request for the window ahead of time. I think once everybody is onboard the tables seating chart is already set. Hope that helps.

We just came back from a cruise to Bahamas and i will say i was very disappointed. Our room attendant we seen the first day and asked for water to be brought to our room “ we bought beverage package” he told us to just go from bar to bar and collect water. The rest of the staff was awesome and they made you feel like they were happy to see you. The pool area omg! I do not think they have enough chemicals for all them bodies in the water drinking. Yuck! The food was a Hugh 👎 it was like any other second rate restaurant. Coco cay was the best part the beaches were beautiful but Nassau was dirty stinky and scary. The best night was the last one that seem to have a lot more entertainment. The drink’s were ok you have to drink a lot to get drunk.
