Spirra was a fun car, very tail happy. Had kinda forgotten it, but knew what it was as soon as I saw the thumbnail
@@_M_O_E_ I'm with you on this one. Whilst it wasn't my absolute favourite car to drive in Gran Turismo history, it's definitely in my Top 5 as a car that I'd choose to drive over almost anything else.
(My favourite car to drive was the RX-8 Type E '03, if you were wondering. I swear, that car can read my mind or something.)

I'm glad that PD kept the Proto all the way up to Gran Turismo 6. I remember never being able to find the right way to tune the car to optimize the light weight. I wonder if I could find an improved way of tuning it now after all of these years. Probably not 😂😂😂
I used to really like playing with this car back in the day, it kinda reminds me of the Bisonte from Ridge Racer
A Korean car with designs ripped straight from Burnout 3, whilst using an American engine to rival European cars. If they had Lotus work on the chassis, I think I've got my "International Bingo" sheet filled out.
It is said the 6-speed Getrag box was also used by Porsche but I couldn't find any concrete evidence. But the rumor is there now.
With all the parts flying from halfway around the world, producing just a single Spirra would have probably produced more carbon emissions than a literal house fire.

Proto Motors Spirra 2004 is like Super Type 1 car from Burnout 3.
Korean content...which reminds me of the Korean Altezza SuperRace GT car only made it through rest of the world by PSP. And I'm sure some Japanese mock of the series as it's brutal back then.
Out of topic but, now I'm curious how the SuperRace and JAF/GTA GT300 GR Supra compare to each other.
I really wish I knew the specs/regulations for both tournaments, but I don't. Ah well.
I loved tuning up the spirra and driving it around le mans in gt4 as a kid! (it was my fav korean car)
There was a supercharged version. The supercharged version seem to be sold a lot more or at least more of them are still around in Korea. Theres also some that ive heard about that are in Korea. They are actually bringing it back . I follow them on Instagram.

The ASL might be more obscure than the rest, maybe the Dome Zero but that has been documented by the TH-cam channel Barchetta. So it's still discussed.
Is the weight distribution really that bad? My only real frame of reference is that 43/57 is the same as the 3rd gen MR2, which itself is much less rear heavy than the second gen, or anything rear engined.
The Physics of Gran Turismo 4 make it feel a bit weird at times, just videogame things.

Definitely I have a better memory than Google, because I remember (and also know) this car from Gran Turismo 4, I also remember the Spirra under these 2 brands, Proto and Oullim, this Korean supercar should have more recognition, specially because it's a cool alternative to Honda NSX

The Spirra is like a bigger, more powerful W10 MR2 in that it loves to oversteer when you let off the throttle while cornering. This tendency to lift off oversteer is way more pronounced on the Spirra than the MR2, which mandates precise throttle control to keep the thing from spinning out. Once you get used to this quirk however, the car is a joy to drive! Long sweeping corners like the final turn at Tsukuba really highlight this car's ability to steer with the throttle, as it responds so quickly to throttle lifting. Overall, just like the RUF CTR, it's a great car for keeping you on your toes.

That car has been somethin else.If this scandal thingy didn't happened and if they found someone to help em financially.Maybe Proto Motors (Or Oulim Motors due Oulim Networks bought Proto in 2000s) could have that oportunity to be even nowadays tbh.Such a great car.Quite use it in both the GT4 and GT PSP sometimes.Quite sad that company does not exist right now.

Something that Criterion does made & they did with Super Type 1 from Burnout 3 + Tuned R series cars from Burnout Revenge does looks similar to this Spirra
