I replayed GT4 during the original Pandemic lockdown, and once lost Mission 34 by 0.001. I’ve beaten it twice now, but I was so shocked by the result that I couldn’t even be mad.
I actually don't mind much about the long waiting time and the track of Mission 34. It's just that why the chasing car is a frigging SLR? Car handles like a canal boat, just understeers everywhere. If they gives us a CLK DTM, a CLK GTR or a Sauber C9, it'll be better for it
Yeah. The PAL version gets a reduced hold time for that test, which I just now realized makes it faster than mission 18, but still stupidly painful nonetheless.
I’ve lost count of how many times I attempted Mission 34. Ultimately, I started looking into exploits for the first time. With the help of save-states & wall-riding at Carousel, and finally managed to clear the mission with a 9’11.694. Due to the accuracy of the AI, where you should be passing the cars will not be far off. Missing the pass by 2 corners from the video will almost guarantee a fail. The split times is a crucial reference to whether you did well enough for a section to ultimately carry you fast enough to the finish. It’s hard to modulate steering & throttle inputs with an analog controller. And depending on skills, hard to score every sections perfectly in a straight, single round around Nordschleife. It was a huge advantage being able to splice sections of runs together with PCSX2’s save-state exploit for me. PAL’s version of GT4 is remarkably easier due to the 7-8 second less waiting time. Which means throughout the run, you won’t need to make up as much grounds to catch the leading SL.
I know how ridiculous this sounds but i never took as long to finish a gt4 mission/licence as mission 23, i could not for the life of me get it to work using your method, i never got the final draft in time, I resisted the urge to use save states for such a "boring" mission but i went at it for 3 hours and finnaly got it, infact I smashed it, 7'01.880, it's actually very easy once you know exactly what to do: your job is to PUNCH A HOLE through the air for the pack, keep a slightly more inside line in order to "feed" fresh air for the pack at the turns and slingshot at the straights. When the turn ends you need to have the maximum distance at which a draft starts with the cars behind you, it's about the same as the distance you started with the car in front of you, at about halfway through the straights at least 1 car should overtake you, preferably 2, either way what you need to be looking for is a hole in the line, fill that hole and make a train, shoot past when they break at turn entry, lift the throttle for reducing 1-3 mph if you need to before the turn ends in order to maintain a drafting distance with the pack, if for some reason you are too close to the pack in the turn, just cut the turn to increase distance for the most effective slingshot, rinse and repeat. Using this method i was able to overtake the leader right after the tunnel in the last lap, i couldn't believe how effective this was, what kept happening to me is that i either was too close to the pack for it to gain significant speed in the straights or i kept running into cars trying to cut in line, this caused "traffic" and made the train 2 or 3 cars wide, making it effectively useless, what is key is that you find the space inbetween cars when they overtake this will keep the "convoy" as straight as possible and as fast as possible, in fact in my attempt the yellow car almost lost to the convoy thats how fast it was, this "slingshot" method i found made the mission not just easier but more engaging.
Though this method is more complex, it produces a much faster result than the one I demonstrated! (Edit: with potentially the same consistency) Just to confirm. When attempting my method, did you stay in 6th gear the whole time? I found that 5th gear would keep you bogged down in the straights and unable to reach the final Skyline by the last turn.
@@ynb_racing yes i stayed in 6th gear and couldn't really figure out what i was doing wrong but if i had to guess i would say maybe veering of the slipstream when bump drafting in turns due to my lack of steering control with the analog stick on my ps5 controller, maybe i lost couple of tenths there per lap idk. To be clear i think your method is a better tutorial since clearly it works for everyone else and is much easier to grasp, i am simply showcasing the method that worked for me.
4:37 ive managed to somehow beat it by passing every single Skyline and looking back to see if im alligned with them, and when they slingshotted past me, i just got into their slipstream again until we reached the yellow Skyline and overtook him at the last moment that was definetly not easy to do at all tho, most of times i didnt get to reach the yellow Skyline before the finish line and had to try it all again i didnt think it was that simple to do it-
Mission 34 is literally killing my bid for 100% completion, ive tried for hours the past 2 days and the closest i can get is 24 seconds behind the SL going into the Straight sector, meaning Im still 7 seconds too slow to attempt a divebomb.
Mission 34 I did more times but won it 2 times only. Even its hard but patience needed to win the leader avoiding hitting cars/walls + 5sec penalty due doing it.
For me toyota 2000GT 3 laps magic is the hardest ....2000GT always loses speed in the corners, and it is not that powerful. The horsepower will only increase with the increase of speed, but the damn TCS and ASM always eat up your speed when you are cornering.... To be honest, the time I spent on 2000GT is the sum of all the 3laps magic...😂
Big facts! The struggle is even greater if you do all the events in order. Now, you go from overtaking quickly through a section of track to driving laps around those tracks to overtake every car possible. PD's game design was very...interesting to say the least.
Great Video! In my opinion mission 26 is one of the hardest/most frustrating missions in the game due to the NSX's instability in high speed turns and the long waiting time.
Yeah, the choice here is much more subjective due to many factors like driving style and patience. To each their own of course, but I bet neither of those missions would ever be considered easy by most.
you need more views, and subscribers, it felt like i was watching youtuber with millions of subs, very huge work, keep it up and dont forget my comment when you get famous XD, good luck
dude, thanks for this video. I was going for achievements on this game so no cheating or save states, but those missions looked downright impossible.. It's very fun to try at least but some of these are oof. You make it looks so easy! I'll give them another try now. Subbed
Yes I want some challenge in a game and maybe have to take some retries. But even after two years of playing GT4 the 1 lap magics just suck and I cant beat most of them, a little wiggle room would have been nice. There wasnt much playtesting done here I think. Even with emulator magic that skips waiting time I loose interest in them pretty quickly. Playing with keyboard controls via the emulator many of these missions seem impossible. Ive tried Mission 34 so many times with different approaches ( going grandpa till FullSend) and sometimes iam entering the final straight while the 300SL is almost at the end of it :(
In all honesty, I wouldn't call Mission 34 the hardest. Final IA license test is much harder because you're following the damn pace car which quite often blocks your ideal line and if you hit it (or God forbid, overtake), it's a fail. In mission 34 all you have to do is wait at the start and drive good at the Nordschleife and correct me if I'm wrong but there are no penalties for hitting opponents (and driving off road ofc) like in license tests. Mastering Nordschleife sounds easier said than done but once you master it, it's a thrilling and enjoyable mission.
it is INCREDIBLY easy to slide out in mission 34. each time you go over one of the curbs or the grass, if you go slightly too hard or try to steer too much, you're done. i remember doing some cuts however early on in the race involving cutting a couple corners and then bumping your trunk instead of the front (as that doesn't slow you down as much and doesn't give you a penalty). if you wanna do it fair and square like in the video you must be a literal god honestly
The Mission 34 still is the HARDEST driving mission ever in GT Franchise even 19 years after release.
GT5 Redbull challenges are worse imo.
GT7 Circuit Experience there is pretty close. The time is tougher but the physics are more consistent.
Dat dreadful wait till you drive with aids ON
For me it's redbull challenge or s10 in gt7 in spa. I didn't do master s10 yet.
Harder than redbull challange?...
I replayed GT4 during the original Pandemic lockdown, and once lost Mission 34 by 0.001. I’ve beaten it twice now, but I was so shocked by the result that I couldn’t even be mad.
GT5 Red Bull Challenges are the hardest by a mile... Especially the one at Suzuka.
I'm just gonna leave comment here saying here before 1,000 Subscribers!! 😃👍
How do i recreate mission 34 on arcade mode? What settings on the car should i use?
stock sports tires, asm traction control and that bs default, but that's normal race...

To sweet in your misery they left traction control on
Exactly, Mercedes can’t be too pleased that the game car handles like a 66 Chrysler Newport.
@@olevet75how to reproduce the scenario on arcade mode?
I'm certain that we'd beat the mission before the long straight if they gave us any of those three cars.
Stop asking me if I can beat these Driving Missions in Gran Turismo 4! I can not and will not beat them!
for me, the one with all skyline in oval circuit is harder, and i just realized i cleared the mission 34 on PAL version which is easier
Yeah. The PAL version gets a reduced hold time for that test, which I just now realized makes it faster than mission 18, but still stupidly painful nonetheless.
Oh yea mission 23 was the hell for me 😂
Wait, doesn't the PAL version have more understeer?
I’ve lost count of how many times I attempted Mission 34. Ultimately, I started looking into exploits for the first time. With the help of save-states & wall-riding at Carousel, and finally managed to clear the mission with a 9’11.694.

"the only other mission that İ didn't first try"
Jfc man

This video proves that GT4 is tge game that just never stops giving. For viewers, gamers and content creators.

And your driving skill is really good too
Cool video. I'm glad the missions are back in GT7. But i'm a big fan of the Special Conditions and i wish we had those in GT7 :/
Yeah, the side content in GT has always been increeibly memorable. A real shame that we don't really get to see it shine as much as it used to

It's downright evil how driving missions go from stupidly easy (1-10) to straight up impossible (11 forward)

Alright, I've seen enough. I'm subscribing.
Mission 11 i believe.. thats my nightmare, i never passed that mission, i hate it! Lol
The 2000gt in New York trying to get 1st is hard!
yes!! i remember when game was new, 1st time trying this mission was annoying ASF
S license in gt6 with veryon was a hell test😅
This is why for me GT3 was much better, i didn't had to deal with this BS 😂. Also i like the more 90s presentation better.

the most painful one for me (except 34) are the mission 15, those lancia with crazy body roll and oversteer are so hard to drive man
Very true. That test is a nightmare when starting it

You can do GT4, But Can you do GT2?
yess!! that's the question!!
Your video is very well made! Editing is top notch! 👌
Mission 23 is best served for NASCAR hardcore fans.
how do we cheat if we are 17 secs behind in last sector
You'll just cut the last chicane and ram the SL300 and hope for the best :/

I really wanted that tank car back in the day. Still haven't gotten it...
Awesome video, new subscriber.
La semana pasada pude despues de un monton de años terminar la ultima mision. Una felicidad enorme jaja
I just cut the uphill chicane because of how frustrated I was 😂
Whatever it takes!
9 min on nurb😂😂😂😂😂 i dont see the worst drive like yours on nurb xD
New sub You're almost 1k, Keep up the gt4 content! 😁
Never knew Casio and Seiko both were sponsons of the game!
so the ps2 runs that smooth?!?!?!
Loving the content, keep it up mate!
Thank you 😁
Thank you for making my playtrough so much easier
Great content!

Naked glow track from rr4 type 4 is nice touch while #34
Thank you! Absolutely one of my fav tracks from both games

Thank you boss!
What was the music in the background in the intro?
Parts of Beauty - Tokyo Xtreme Racer Zero OST
OMG İ was hoping for this
Still waiting to s license test tutorials mate
It's already been posted on my channel
now do it with the TC and ABS off
that will be easier to get coz you can't manipulate setup, default...
RR4 Soundtrack 🎉
Easily my favorite Soundtrack f all racing games. I own the japanese remix CD. Great
I done 100% in every gt except vettels challenges ;|
Those Vettel challenges are nasty!
