    Great video, thank you!
I retired from the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Dept after 28 years with them. We, along with the LAPD, had the Ithaca 37/87’s as our duty shotguns. We found them to be extraordinarily reliable. The few times jams were encountered were due to “short-stroking” or not pumping the fore end with enough vigor. They withstood a tremendous amount of abuse, and continued to function.
Some years ago, the LASD and LAPD phased out the Ithaca in favor of the more modular Remington 870, and our department sold surplus Ithacas to its deputies. I was fortunate enough to pick one up. It’s an 8-shot with 20” bbl and rifle sights for slugs.
I also have another one just like it that I purchased new about 30 years ago, and I also have an 18” nickeled model, ostensibly for boating use.
The Ithaca 37 and 87 are my favorite shotguns.

I have an 18.5” smoothbore deer slayer but it is a 5 round gun. It’s a stone cold tack driver! The 18” barrels are very rare to find these days since they have not produced the barrels or offered that option to have on your gun for decades. My uncle bought it when he returned from Vietnam. Quit gun hunting and sold it to my cousin. I borrowed it from my cousin a few times and shot a few doe’s with it, and worked on him for years to sell it to me. Ultimately it paid off and jibe ultimately sold it to me

My 37 is a 1970-made 20” factory marked full-choke, 4-shot mag tube, parkerized, no game scene gun.
It has honest finish wear that looks like it spent a lot of time either in a police cruiser or jail/prison armory rack. It’s fun to shoot, will slam-fire, and kicks like a mule with 00 buckshot. Tight patterns at 25 yards with the fixed choke, too.

I'm not a huge fan of this shotgun design for a couple reasons. 1. If it malfunctions it's harder to clear than a side eject shotgun. 2. You have to take the stock off in order to disassemble and clean the shotgun completely. Thank you for coming to my ted talk.

Hello. I've heard of a 14.5mm x 51R being fired from a 20ga shotgun and have been looking for evidence of that. Korea went through a war in the 1950s, and my friend found Projectile where the battle took place. It's said that the US Army and Marine Corps fought. I heard that Ithaca M37 was used in the Korean War. The projectile contains a trace of riffling. Is it possible that the M37 with riffling was used in the 1950 war? Please do me a favor.
