- This is a 1959 Chevy Impala with a 1207hp 632ci big block V8, built in Sweden. I'm not sure about how it handles but to me it looks to be all cosmetic, the wheelie bars etc. Exhaust sounds GOOD! I filmed this car when it was leaving hot rod & rock show 2016.

I had an original Roman Red '59 Impala Sport Coupe decades ago of which I was rather fond.. When the 348 gave out I put in a Hi-Po 409.

Rumor has it this engine is not fuelled by gas but has eight demons sequentially pushing the pistons up and down and yelling whilst they do it.
This car is still lit 60 + yrs. Later.
The back end of the '59 is simply...iconic.
Love the 59s. They always remind me of a Batmobile.

My grandfather had an impala like that. Beautiful car. It looks like the bat mobile from that era.
My first car was the family '59 Biscayne with the standard 235 six cylinder and a 3 speed on the column. The cats eyes tail light/fin combo is so unique.

The 59's were beautiful cars. They had the coolest dashboards Chevy ever made. This car has been tubbed and has a 4 link or ladder bar set up so I am sure the car is comfortable on the strip and a little street(less the wheely bars). So, Fileeraus this is NO fake "all cosmetic" car, whatever the hell that is. This is one bad ass Chevy! Some of the best and baddest street racing happens in Sweden .
Has to be one of the most beautiful '59 Impalas I've ever seen. I'll bet that idle can change the rhythm of your heart to match the lick it produces. Well done, guys.

This is a beautiful car. Not many 59s survived.
Now THIS one is a keeper! Beautiful. My mama and my step daddy took turns with our old 59 on the track, we called it the black bomb, lol She drove powder-puff, and he regular stock, one day it was out of gas, they got it to start n the carb caught fire and we rode all the way (bout a mile) up the highway to the gas station I could see the little flame on the carb under the hood ( he left it unlatched) ha ha I was about 4, and I was born in 59. I loved that big back seat!
Always helps to have about three spastic people and one hysterical woman helping to load a car.
This is now the epitome of Pro Street, do a burnout and park it in a trailer. So much for the street part.

In 1970 our little group did our cruising in a 1959 Impala and that summer we were using a 1958 Impala for demolition derbies. The 58 lasted thru 3 events before we had to junk it.

I always liked the ‘60 Impala but I thought the ‘59’s were just ugly. THIS one, however, changes my thinking. I actually HAD a ‘59 Chevy with a 348.The price was a steal, and I needed wheels. That was in ‘68. Bought it for $20!

Far from 1200 hp
Could be around 1200 hp but didn't sound like it. Getting to 1200 hp you would need 14.5 to 1 compression minimum, solid roller and more. But that high of compression anyway why not make it 16 to 1 compression if just motor no power adder?

Thanks I needed to find a trailer for my mower. Seriously, 1959 Impala was close to 1957 Belair as the most beautiful. Our family cars were 1955 Belair, 1960 Impala, 1962 Impala, 1965 Impala. We had a radical change after the 65 was wrecked...station wagon!

As a Brit growing up in the 50s / 60s my favourite American car was always the '59 Chevrolet Impala Sedan, and even today I gasp when I see one. If I had ever had to rescue one toy from a burning house it would have had to be my Impala in New York taxi livery. Ah, the memories.......
Who doesn't like cars. That was a nice flashback to early 80's with much respect and correctness...on how ABM ( Asset Based MGMT ) works. My Cutlass supreme... With blue vinyl top & limo lights, solid white with chrome, exterior all original, interior.... And then learned how to customize the sound system.... And picked up more hard working clients for my accounting and taxes services. It's amazing how many people from all walks of life don't know how to write off expenditures or LHI... LEASEHOLD IMPROVEMENTS. ... .

It's a toy hauler trailer not a 102" racecar hauler. That car as gorgeous as it is, is just a Trailer Queen show car. 150k car being hauled around in a 15k trailer....lol

One time in the 70's I was doing a burn out in my Impala and the throttle stuck. I had my line lock on and was trying to stop it with just the pizza cutters in the front. Lol.. I was headed for the dirt bank of a freeway over pass and by the time I turned the key off, I was half way up the dirt bank. Like it was a four wheel drive. It had a tunnel ram and the linkage back then left a little to be desired. So I freaked a little watching the video with all the people around and had an old flash back. Lol...

My Grandfather who was a Country Western musician had a 59 chevy Sedan Delivery 2 door wagon No side windows that he pretty much lived in when playing out of town back in the early 60s, A sleeping bag in the back beat a DWI after playing all night in a country bar.

My teenage car was a black with red interior '58 Impala conv. Had a lot of fun with that car...At 120mph the back would want to lift, with the big fins the car had.
