- The BMW M340i is our perfect formula for a sports sedan. It's great to look at, is blisteringly quick, comfortable, and incredibly efficient. We think you should have one.

This is hands down the best car in the segment. The M340i is near perfection now. Hope they don't mess it up with the next generation.
i only wish the angle eyes were in the bottom anytime i’ve seen them out in the wild i think it’s a civic till i gets close
@@spacemanf3070 Lensecrafters.
@@spacemanf3070 get some glasses lmao
I mean... B58. 'nuff said. Everyone that drives these cars walks away wanting one. The car is engineered so well, but the engine is definitely the star of the show.
I own a 2020 m340 and i will say its the best driving car i ever owned. at the same time its luxurious and smooth!
BMW is making some amazing cars right now. Sure, styling has been polarizing on some, but I think we're in a golden age with ICE vehicles... especially considering the B58.
Except the rest of their lineup imo
Thing is, it seems to be working the ugly 4-Series is still selling in big numbers. The 7 is off to a big start. The X7 facelift is selling like hotcakes. Then again the iX isn't selling that good and we'll have to see how the XM does. New 5 Series debuts next month. Fingers crossed on the looks.
Great video, guys! OMG! I couldn't help noticing that Merkur XR4Ti parked next to the BMW at the beginning! That was one of my wishlist cars back in the 80's! Does that thing still run? WOW! 😃
Love the point you made about the M340i being closer to a traditional "M" car than the current generation M3. It's the same with the M550i. M cars from a a couple decades ago were simply performance oriented versions of already sporty luxury sedans, they were NOT track monsters. Totally agree, outside of the novelty factor, unless you are tracking weekly or perhaps bi-weekly, or unless you have 2-3 cars in your garage, the M340i or M550i is the way to go. *** minor to point to make, it's pronounced Mel"burn" red.
Keep the review in this form. So relaxing ❤
Great review guys, enjoyed watching it! One thing, you said you can't disable the fake sound but as I recall it from some other clip, you can and it's called Iconic Sound IIRC and hidden under some not fully logical menu somewhere.
I have one of these on order myself but the Touring and I'm so much looking forward to having it delivered. Still a few months away unfortunately, would have loved being able to enjoy it during the summer season!
This was a cool review I have overlooked this car thinking it wasn’t as fast as it is
Damn good review. Thank you.
great car and review!
I'm currently driving a 435i but in a couple of years I am planning on getting one of these 2nd hand. Like they said in the video it's just an all around non-compromising sports sedan.
Im ordering mine in Melbourne Red.
waiting on delivery of mine...few more days hopefully!!
fantastic car - really is the best non full M 3 series ever if you ask me.
I WILL BUY ONE,
For me I chose the 2024 M340i with adaptive suspension to have a smoother ride when I want but the potential for better performance in the B58 drive train. Living in Socal I didn’t op for X drive since inclement weather is few and far between here plus not having the loss in an awd transmission. Wish the seats had vented a/c. This is my wife’s car but she says I act like it’s my car from obsessing on mods I want done and have done in the short time we’ve owned it. 😅
When I see this video I just want to go outside and drive my car in Sport+ mode :)
What is the tire size? Curious about the ride quality with a bit more sidewall.
I'm biased as I have an LCI M340i, but it's worth every penny of $68k. It just feels so damn solid, and does everything well. If you don't get the leather or a few other options you can get low 60s. Not sure what else is available for that money, maybe the RS3 but that's smaller and very very hard to obtain. It's fairly priced for a car that's sub 4s 0-60 and still gives you the daily drivability.
Jack - I own the new rs3... its a good bit more "special" than the m340... but that b58 and zf is just an incredible combo for driving on the street, in traffic, etc. You probably have the better all around car - great motor, great trans, great infotainment, high quality interior, great drivability, and looks good.
@@j_merlotte5467 if I don’t use back seats often gimme the RS3. That 5 cylinder is too special. Even though I have a slight bias towards BMW usually.
@@j_merlotte5467 size-wise the RS3 is basically a Corolla than can do 180 mph lol, and like the other guy said, if I didn’t need rear seats that much then RS3 all day. Otherwise the BMW is a better all-around car.
Although I’d get one CPO a year or two old since the price has a good drop after it’s driven a bit.
@@j_merlotte5467 ha funny enough once they told me my RS3 wouldn't go into production for another 10 months, I started to poke around and landed on the BMW. I always wanted the RS3 and would've been thrilled with it no doubt. Really there's no wrong decision. For pure specialness and rarity, the RS3 is king. They sell around 1500 per year iirc in the US, the only 5 cylinder left.
I have an RS3, but would buy the 340 if the RS3 didn’t exist or if you need a larger car than the RS3. Both are amazing cars. So glad we have these two amazing cars these days.
U know the defrost buttons are still physical? Right next to the hazard lights.
You have a super cool mom bro! 😀
Well said on the c300 and not being able to afford the E class 😂 34:06
I think AMG C43 would be a more fair comparison, no?
@@matoberry there are TH-camrs doing driving comparisons. They did a comparison between the Amg C43 and M340. The C43 is nowhere as good as M340
except for the interior lighting. C43 also cost more than the M340 . E class is bigger in size but people with that money should rather go for an X5 or GLE
Are there any negatives in buying a CPO M340? I've never owned BMW but man i really like this car.
Meh, at least you have a warranty if something breaks.
Does it have Ambient lighting?
It does.
For long term would you take the m340i or is500?
m3 comp xdrive
@@minigiant8998Not for long term. Real M cars are more to fix and will not be as reliable.
it’s a performance car
“The best BMW is the X5”. Words spoken by someone who has been alive less time than I’ve held my driving licence 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ I’d always take an X5 over an M5 Comp 🙄
This car is perfect. 68k though, damn.
It’s a performance sedan and not a budget sedan. Although it’s a great bargain for what you get.
if we come to the point, where we cannot drive fuelbased cars in Germany anymore, i will come to us, i hope you are not so stupid with all the shit we have in germany in these days! I just orderd this car, enjoying it as long as possible!
This or the new m2 zf8?
I have the 2020 M340ix and..... I'm drooling over the new G87 M2 🤤 But still unsure if its worth trading my M340ix (worth $80,000AUD) in for one ($135,000AUD)
"The pops are fake"..... not in my 2020 M340ix!!! 😉😁
As with most BMWs, this car would be great as a 2 year old CPO for half the price.
Wouldn’t be half the price
@@areufkingkiddingme you are right, prices are still quite inflated, probably requires 3 years to to get to half price. Also depends on adoption of EVs which will accelerate depreciation too.
@@officialyasir more like 7 years lmao. You're not going to be doing nearly enough driving for 50% depreciation. After 3 years it should be around 20-30% on average.
@@officialyasir not even 3 years … that’s the average lease length.. they don’t depreciate to half price
Why not wait 10 and get it even cheaper? Oh, because obvious comment is obvious
I just wish they would give us back the shifter. I like to drive one handed and sometimes use the shifter to shift up and down. And give us back our climate control buttons! Other than that, it's a near perfect car with the new refresh design and screens.
Just buy a low mileage Pre-LCI 😉
the defrost button is a physical button below 🤦🏼♀
I recently bought a new 2023 BMW M340i xDrive.
It is a very enjoyable and fun driving machine.
Except..... I hate the controls on this irritating car.
Everything that you need to do you have to do through the center screen and many options are buried several layers deep.
It is a horrible, lousy, poor, very difficult and time consuming design.
Whoever designed this horrendous controls should be fired.
I wish I knew these designs fault as I would have never bought this car. It is my fault.
A big shame on BMW.
Check these controls before you buy this model.
You have been forewarned. Check everything thoroughly.
So wtf did u buy it? Have you ever driven a car with I drive before?
R u a boomer?
I got this car. Once I setup everything to my liking I literally never went into the settings again. I use Apple car play but it’s the same as the regions idrive. What setting is buried for you lmao? The AC controls are digital but always visible
Always test drive a car before you buy it my guy. Even if you think it's the perfect car.
Great car but $68;000???
Yes, it’s worth it.
how about 95k and i barely ticked any options on the m3 comp xdrive? crazy expensive for an entry level 3 series but it makes me smile
Mine was 62.5 k and it’s awesome . Don’t get unnecessary packages
This is not a budget car. It’s a performance sedan. If one wants a budget sedan, look at Camry and Accord.
So you are the one person who likes wood in a dash…so sixties.
