  • In this video, we review the 2023 BMW M340i xDrive. The facelifted BMW 3 Series is now launching and we had a chance to test drive it in Germany. It's also no secret that the 2023 BMW M340i Sedan is one of the most popular 3 Series offerings. And certainly, one of our favorite current BMWs. We've praised the BMW M340i in all of our previous reviews, citing the glorious B58 engine and the driving experience worthy of an M badge. So could BMW improve an already great product? It turns out that even a small change to the engine is enough to move the needle.
    The 2023 BMW M340i now features a mild-hybrid technology providing a temporary 11 horsepower boost. The inline-six 3.0-liter unit still generates 374 horsepower (382 hp in the United States) and 500 Newton-meters (369 pound-feet) of torque. As for performance, the sedan does 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.1 seconds while being electronically capped at 155 mph (250 km/h).
    But is the 48 volt mild-hybrid having a real life impact on the driving experience? Let's find out!

      NOPE! I absolutely HATE the ALL TOUCHSCREEN UI! Any of the older gen models are much better looking, have all the tech you NEED, plus tactile use of buttons and controls that makes driving a luxury sports car different than a basic economy car! I HATE the all touchscreen craze, they're making ALL cars feel the same and most individualism, quality and craftsmanship of controls are all gone!

    The design of the dash display seems an afterthought; it’s disconnected from the rest of the car, and the support pillar exaggerates the disconnection. An example of a beautiful integrated display would be the Porsche 911; BMW could draw inspiration from Porsche in this regard. The utility of the digital dash may be nice, however, in everyday use. The toggle shifter looks cheap, and this is something you will notice often. The rear diffuser extends too far up into the bodywork and could be made more sophisticated, maintaining consistency in the car's design. Apart from this it is a beautiful car, I would upgrade the brake discs. Thank you for this review.

      Hi, I have an M340i LCI which I picked up on 1st September. Driven it for 2000 miles now and I have to say it is the most comfortable car I have owned. The front windshield and front side windows are acoustic (double glazed) so very quiet, the ride is very comfortable thanks to the electronic dampers and despite having 19” run flat tyres! Perfect blend of performance and comfort

    • @bmwblog
      @bmwblog  ปีที่แล้ว

      My car was really quiet. Even though I was running on large 19" wheels. So I would say it's not as quiet as a 7 Series, but really good.

      As long as you have the optional adaptive suspension it will be very comfortable. For Australia I recommend the 18” wheels instead of the 19” wheels. Will be excellent over bumps and your fuel economy will be insanely good as well.

    Basically, the whole lci is just one big cost cutting excuse, in person it does not look as good as on photos and videos, whole front is a miss in my opinion. It is strange to me that they are marketing a carbon roof as a lci option, but it is not. It was available for last year pre-lci. How i know that? I ordered the car with the carbon roof, and it is just gorgeous.

    Interior is a lot worse. There is an inherent flaw with having the climate in the information screen. Super annoying to switch from navigation to climate to turn off the heat and lower the fan speed every single winter morning. 2 second procedure takes 15 for every single drive for 20 years of the vehicles life. But what do I know, I left BMW 15 years ago and their sales continue to go up as their cars get worse. Maybe I'll find a good deal on a F22 M2.

    Why is no one talking about the fact that BMW just totally destroyed the Cockpit design by deleting the Instrument Cluster Cover???
    What used to be the most Driver Centric Cockpit in the Auto Industry is now replaced with a stupidly lame looking flat Interior with an unnecessarily long and ambiguous looking Infotainment Panel which feels "Naked" without a proper "Instrument Cluster Cover"...WTF BMW???...
    The 3 Series is a dynamic and athletic Sports Sedan with and aggressive Exterior Design, it is supposed to have an equally aggressive Driver Centric Interior with a proper Instrument Cluster Cover which gives you the feeling of being in a fighter jet's cockpit...but now you will feel like you are driving a lame city car with no bite...
    What kind of an idiot designer gives a soft and lame Interior design language to the most aggressive and iconic Sports Sedan in the World??? Have you lost your mind BMW???
