    Thanks, Colin. This helped make sure I was doing the right things when replacing the battery in my Razer Blade Stealth. Here's to another 5 years from it!

    Hi Colin , thanks for the tutorial. How is the replacement battery performing now?

    • @ColinLeung
      @ColinLeung  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      You're welcome. The battery is an improvement over the one I replaced, but is nowhere close to the advertised performance. I think I'm getting 2-3 hours, and not 8-9 hours. It's better than 1 hour though.

    I think i'm gonna do this for mine, as it doesn't hold the charge more than 15 minutes :'D
    But I read in the comment the battery you took isn't as powerful as mentionned ? Do you still recommend it ?

    • @ColinLeung
      @ColinLeung  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Yamamichi, the aftermarket battery lasts about half the advertised life of 8hrs at most. It's still better than the 1hr that I was getting before. It would be best if you could get the OEM battery, but may cost significantly more. Thanks for the question!

    Do you know if you can get batteries direct from Razer and how much they cost, I have the exact same laptop as you and I don't mind paying more for certified one. I know that these are fairly old now so I don't expect them to still be available but would be cool if they are. I sent them a request, how long do you think before they respond ?

    • @ColinLeung
      @ColinLeung  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello MK, I checked the Razer site, and there is an option to contact them for a replacement battery, which you did. I'm not sure how much the battery costs, and if they would even respond. I've heard bad things about Razer's "non existent" customer service, but let us know if they do respond and how much they'd charge.

      @@ColinLeung Yeh they emailed me back and said I would have to shoulder the cost of a replacement. Never mentioned a price yet but I'll keep you posted when they get back to me. I don't mind fitting the battery myself, I just want access to an original battery. Weirdly they also want a video of the issue, but I don't get what the heck I am supposed to show exactly.

    Hi Colin, my son have this laptop but last week his laptop just don’t turn on. Do you know this is just the battery die ?

    • @ColinLeung
      @ColinLeung  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Are you able to turn the laptop on when the power adapter is plugged in? If it does not turn on then something else is wrong, and it's not the battery.

      I didn't have any issues charging. I'm not getting the recommended battery life, but 2-4hrs is more than the 1 I was previously getting. Thanks for the comment.

    • @ColinLeung
      @ColinLeung  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Sounds like something wasn't connected properly. I'd double check the connections again. Are you plugged in and it says that at the black screen start up?

      @@mateusbolsonruzzarin Does the laptop turn on without the power brick plugged in? If it does turn on then the battery might be faulty something isn't connected. If it doesn't turn on then you'll know right away that it wasn't plugged in.

      @@ColinLeung Hey man, so it does turn on without the power brick plugged in! But the message is still there "No Battery is Detected" when I hover the mouse, and when I click it, it displays "No Battery Present" the thing is that I dont see if it is full, or empty, it just displays a huge "X" sign... other than that it seems to work fine

    • @ColinLeung

      @@mateusbolsonruzzarin That's strange. There's only one plug, so it seems to be plugged in correctly if it's powering the laptop up. The battery might not contain the right sensor? Are you able to exchange it? Or you can keep it as is if it doesn't bother you.

      Honestly surprised mine lasted as long as it did. Got my laptop September 2017 and it stopped holding charge October 2020. Last week the charger also gave out and I'm using OnePlus 8T charger to charge it atm. I'm gonna get a new device anyway but still want to try fix the Razer.
