Hey man, I want you to know that you are an inspiration to me. From your original line of fantasy leather armor to your youtube page, you are a badass!!! Thank you for inspiring me to get into leather craft -- Fivel of The High Spires
I wanted to say a BIG thank you for this tutorial. I searched so long for a good pattern for a helmet but was not able to find anything and to be honest, even yours was not what I was looking for. HOWEVER, the information I was able to get from your tutorial allowed me to create my own altered pattern and make a helmet in the style I was looking to create. If you are interested in the final results I'll be happy to share, but the helmet is listed for sale so I don't want to step on toes and post here if you don't want that. Thanks again for the wonderful information and directions, they were invaluable!
Hey, Charity thanks for subbing and commenting. It is great to hear that my video helped you come up with your own altered pattern. I would love to see your finished helmet and if it helps you make a sale by posting it here that's even better..
Thanks! here is the link, and again, really appreciate the tutorial! www.etsy.com/listing/453063816/earth-leather-armor?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=earth%20leather%20armor&ref=sr_gallery_1
Charity Kehl Very nice. That basic helmet cap design can be altered and added to any way you choose it is very versatile. Good luck with your shop, I think you do some good work, keep it up.
Charity Kehl Yes, you may share if you like but I actually have a pattern that is similar to that, for a Greek or Spartan look that I should probably share with everyone in another video.
Nice work as always. I look forward to seeing your next video. Again thank you for going slow and for saying what to do if we didn't have the tools you do. Really helps.
What exactly determines the length I guess you could call it of the inserts for the cap? I noticed the non curved side looks like it stops about an inch or two shorter than the sections you took measurements for.
Okay, first of all, new subscriber, i love your channel, thank you sir. I just have one thing to say : medulla oblongata refers to a part of the brain stem. The bony protuberance you were refering to is known as the External Occipital Protuberance. I don't care about that mistake, but i think that if you went as far as using an anatomical term in the video to be precise when explaining your process, you ought to be interested in the correct term. Anyway, i must repeat myself, i love your videos. Thanks and have a good day/week end :) Thumbs up !

You, sir, are a gentleman and a scholar.
Love it - just what I was looking for. Not the Samurai aspect so much, but the basics for measuring and building a helmet.
