With the amount of content you shoved into that torture test issue, I’d say $2.99 is a fair price. $1.29 is too cheap for how much information you’re providing. Not only was it helpful to kdx riders worldwide, it was extremely entertaining!
I just got a '23 gasgas 300 and they say to replace the piston at 80 hours of normal use and 40 hours for racing. Most guys run them over 100 hours on normal trail riding so we shall see. That piston is ate up though lol I can see why they say to replace sooner than later for racing and uhm..use the best oil you can especially in my tpi bike
I don't know how you managed to get a 3 year old video to get recommended and say it was posted a couple days ago, but it was entertaining and informative to watch none the less 👌
The first thing I thought is, why I wasn't notified of this video ?? Then I see comments from 3 years ago hahaha.. but it says it was uploaded 13hs ago, so strange. Maybe you just made it public ?
@@burdazza2711 because the crank and connecting rod are getting 25% less lubrication with 40:1 vs manufacturer recommended 32:1. Running 40:1 is like running 4.5qts of oil in an engine that calls for 6qts. I don't know why people would want less lubrication, but it's their engine, not mine
Yeah but everyone says jeff fredette? Or whoever ( im new to bikes) says its fine to run that with this new age fluids we have now a days I have a kdx 220. Still learning. I dont know what to do. 32:1 or 40:1. @rhmerkin
What ever happened to this bike? Did you throw it in the stock pile of broken bikes or did it end up in the dumpster? I am curious if it will ever show its face again..
I have a KDX that I just rebuilt and I keep finding a lot of aluminum in the oil. At first I thought it was water because of the color till I seen the metallic shine. Any help on that?
So after tearing mine all the way down again, I figured out the problem. I bought cheap clutches made from aluminum and I that’s what I was seeing in my oil. Hard lesson learned, buy the good clutches made of steel. Would of loved to have known this before I completely disassembled my engine for nothing. Hope this helps someone else
This guy has the best videos! Has anybody converted the 200 to a 220? Is it possible wasn't sure if they had different bottom ends etc Also has anyone used the lectron carburetor or the smart carb
Theres a good vid of someone doing a full build of one who puts a lectron it it should be near the top when you search Kdx on yt, I'm pre sure u can put 220 bore on a 200 bottom as it's the same stroke length but not 100%
Just swap the cylinder, piston/rings, the same 200's 35mm carb and re-jet with a 220 needle. A 200 will still be faster on top. Unless you only want more low/mid torque or you have a ported 220 cyl, it's much simpler to use an FMF woods pipe on the 200 and call it good. A 10oz flywheel weight helps the KDXs to be even more of a tractor in the woods.
Hey, this is a bit off topic, but is that flywheel puller part of a universal kit or do you just buy the bike's specific one when you tear an engine down?
It says all the comments are from.3 years ago
I was noticing that too.. Weird.
They are. This is an old, old video
That's weird it says its.like a hour old

Thanks! I think you're right. The next volume is going to be more content-packed and priced a little higher
Be proud of your content my guy its some of the best out for sure
Love the extra content. I'll pay more next torture test.
Keep us involved with this tear down and rebuild, I love kdx's

So that's what happened to the KDX...
Wow that right side crank spacer washer turned to dust
I need to have a lot of patience for stuff like this 😊
What ever happened to this motor?
Did you rebuild it
is this an old video from back when Friggin Jim’s Friggin Adventures was a thing
I've never torn a motor down like that.. damn I love this video!!!!

157hours should be a cake walk for a kdx
It was wide open most the time lol
I'll put my $ on 40:1 oil ratio being run here.. pure speculation on my part
@@rhmerkin why should that make a difference I run 40:1 on mine just fine

Glitter in your oil is normal after a rebuild.

Buy the one needed for the bike. A lot of them interchange, but they aren't a universal tool
