Sometimes, I wish adults in my life (at times myself included...) could be as driven as much as some of today's youth. They are doing amazing things, facing challenges, bucking up the pain, going beyond the drama, have hope, and making it happen. It seems "adults" can't even comprehend what hope and drive is about because of the "give up/can't happen" factor. Kids like this are an inspiration and really need to be noticed. Here are 150ish kids that didn't give up. That is a thing. Zero pity party from them
Nothing short of incredible! I knew small ensemble assisted with props, but had no idea how much or how physically demanding it was. Favorite show. Congrats!
BlooHornet yeah I export them at an extremely high bit rate to keep quality up and it takes a while for TH-cam to process it. The exported file size is around 9gb
Funny enough this guy recording this is my BAND DIRECTOR! hes a great one at that. And hes a great brass player. Also the guy who uploaded this was not the one playing. He is not Ryan ferris.
Since I suck at identifying notes. Can somone tell me the ones for the ballad Duet with the trumpet. Seeing it Live with my Corps (Shadow) I really wanted to learn it since DCI Minnesota
I figured it was something like that, but I figured I'd ask anyways because I haven't seen it used like that before. Anyways, I love all the content you put out and congrats on ageing out with SCV!
Question, does vanguard just not March euphs, cause like I've never seen any euph cams or soloists, and bd doesn't march bari's either so it wouldn't be that crazy of an idea
There was a time they had 1st and 2nds on baritones and the 3rds on euphs. They switched to all baritones some time around 15 or 16 I think. Easier to blend when it’s all the same instrument, easier to have spares for just one kind of horn, it’s easier to hold.

Oh how the turns have tabled.
That entire show was clean licks and marching prop crew
Nothing short of incredible! I knew small ensemble assisted with props,

Wow... Those fingers and air column man...
I think one of the show designer's goals was to see how many times they could make them set down and swap horns in a single show.
Damn, I did not know all of that was going on in the opening statement. Wow
This is by far the greatest head cam I’ve ever watched. Low brass all the way!
I wish I could have tone quality that good, that’s just amazing
Ryan Farris Was one of my band directors he is amazing!!
7:28 omg it sounds so amazing 😊
>4K
>360p
I take it it's not fully processed yet lol
BlooHornet yeah I export them at an extremely high bit rate to keep quality up and it takes a while for TH-cam to process it. The exported file size is around 9gb
it's now in 4K :)
Gotta love those crisp valves!
The spontaneous jazz starts at 2:40 if anyone’s curious
Just wow. GREAT!

leobroi Velcro
That’s my band director!
the prop movement is freakin ridiculous
Which horn brand do they use for their marching baritones ?
Yamaha
Any recommendations or advice for people auditioning for Vanguard this year?

Lucky Stiff if you made it in you took part in one of the best DCI shows in history

What's the earpiece that all the small group players are wearing?
BarracudaEmpire in ear monitors to hear each other and the front ensemble for timing
I figured it was something like that, but I figured I'd ask anyways because I haven't seen it used like that before. Anyways, I love all the content you put out and congrats on ageing out with SCV!
BarracudaEmpire the bluecoats all have in ear monitors for their pit members, as they're so spread out on the field, to keep the pit together.
wow! interesting

Question, does vanguard just not March euphs, cause like I've never seen any euph cams or soloists, and bd doesn't march bari's either so it wouldn't be that crazy of an idea
BD marches a System Blue bari/euph hybrid i think they call a bariphonium
There was a time they had 1st and 2nds on baritones and the 3rds on euphs. They switched to all baritones some time around 15 or 16 I think. Easier to blend when it’s all the same instrument, easier to have spares for just one kind of horn, it’s easier to hold.
Shoutout to Josh Kile
What is that mouthpiece?
Hammond
This may be the most physically taxing show ever I swear like what other show had more going on? I am actually asking cuz JEEZ
wheres my favorite open class brass caption head⁉️
lol i suck
Shouldn't have gotten a hernia then
What valve oil do you use😭😭
Yamaha synthetic!
So when did the idea for a small ensemble come about?
When the design team created the show design, JD wanted a "chamber ensemble" of 12 people
Was this your age-out year?
It was Ryan's age-out. It was also my age-out
That's awesome. I saw this show at finals and it's one of my all-time favorites.
Lots of professional musicality all around. You guys did well.
Connor Rydland how old do you have to be to age out? Our whole band has been wondering how old he is.
@@michaelsegars9337 you have to be 21 but if you're born after August it's 22
Please tell me you have a lead mello cam🙏🏻
+AGairsoft1 watch my mello cam
Oh yeah it was great! Do you know who has footage of a mello that plays all the high notes though?
no, but i'm telling you the two parts were identical except for the stab notes at the beginning
Yeah true, great job this year! I was rooting for Vanguard, your show was much better that the trumpet feature of BD.
sweet fucking jesus how is this humanly possible
Are you one the baritone soloists from santa clara Vanguard?
0:26 baritone rip????? Holy shit
6:30 hehehe
Stop
Hahahahahaha
Is this a Yamaha baritone?
Yes
@@ConnorRydland woah thanks for the quick reply! My school still uses dynasty baritones and they don’t sound super great.
10:19 nice
thats actually insane
What mouthpieces did the bari line use?
For Their Tomorrow hammond 12ml
Ryan was my band director he showed me this video then quit😢😢😢 if you can please get me in contact with ryan i would be so happy my name is Hayden
He teaches at my school now
No, you're name is Dak Prescott
Charlie, its called a username my guy
steverman, it’s called a joke my guy
He is currently working in North Texas at my school
Why don't you have any woodwinds
vincent aramburu because it’s DCI drum and BUGLE corps not drum and woodwind corps
Woodwinds arent used in DCI, the horn line uses trumpets, mellos, baritone/euphoniums, and contra tuba. sometimes trombone features.
Eh, Will Burson better
HI we have the same name but u copied mine so get demonized pls
Ryan Fong what
@@ConnorRydland nah just kidding
