    • @sebasbecerra1435
      @sebasbecerra1435 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ethan Hamilton its a tenor bass bones have a bigger bell and often 2 triggers

    • @johnslattery6385
      @johnslattery6385 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Sebas Becerra it's definitely a single trigger tenor. The difference is in the bore size.

    • @sebasbecerra1435
      @sebasbecerra1435 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      john slattery the bore doesnt affect it all that much those baritones are yamaha which means theyre large bore nothing in the low brass section is small bore and I asked because my dci bari/euph tech marched batitone for the coats

    • @johnslattery6385
      @johnslattery6385 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sebas Becerra sorry if I was unclear, I was referring to the difference between the tenor and bass trombones.

    • @hankjamison8194
      @hankjamison8194 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      john slattery bore size doesn't really affect it either. It's the triggers. What makes a bass trombone a bass trombone is the fact that it has two triggers. The thing trigger alone can't hit a low b natural or lower without getting into pedal range. With the double trigger you can easily go below that making it a bass trombone

      Granted I'm not part of DCI, wish I could be, just not feasible, but I started with trombone and learned baritone and tuba. If you know how to read the music it's really to learn other bass clef instruments.

      On the other hand, can you audition to only play trombone without being expected to know bari or euph? Bc for some reason I've always thought that you could just march trombone the whole time, but now I'm starting to doubt that.

    This may be a dumb question, but did you use the same trombone and baritone throughout the run? I noticed you set your bari behind the ramp and used one on the sidelines later. I guess it's also possible that someone carried it there though

    • @rapalla021

      Jonesy actually that is incorrect. The rest of the octet and I had a second set of baris for the closer (check the video at 4:22 and 4:29) we also had bone and mouthpiece exchange in the back with other BariEuphs members

      Never. HOWEVER.....during a rehearsal of an old variation of that segment, my baritone got caught in a hole in my gloves and it flew backwards to the ground bending the lead pipe. Thankfully I was able to bend it back in place before getting it repaired fully 😅

    This is fun to watch no lie! Any advice on being able to hold a baritone for long durations of time? I ask this because you drum corp guys are just so talented!

    • @gagecope3140
      @gagecope3140 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      As a drum corps guy myself. Just hold it, do a little "horn holding party". Just hold you horn for a certain amount of time. Not every night, maybe once a week.
      Ex. Hold it at horns up position (5 minutes)
      Then bring it down to carry position (5 minutes)
      Slowly increase your time as weeks go by.
      I highly suggest listening to music. It helps take your mind off of your arms wanting to die.

      and also make sure after burning the hell out of your arms that you bend over with your arms relaxed so your blood can flow back in your arms.
