  • When the weather is bad on the west side of the Cascades it is time to head east. This was a late March solo trip to Dry Falls, the Grand Coulee, and Banks Lake Wildlife Area. Hands down, the Grand Coulee is by far the biggest coulee found in Washington's coulee country and the story behind it is just as impressive. Good to get away alone and relax the mind in quiet places and open spaces while exploring another path of the ice age floods. Enjoy.

Thanks for showing us a great new place to explore. Your camp in this video reminded me of the Sierra with the granite and pine trees.

It reminded me of the Sierra as well. Very Yosemite like in that portion of the coulee.

It is worth it. I have wanted to for some time as well and finally made the decision top go.

Thank You. Glad you enjoyed it. Pretty new to the TH-cam platform so it is a talent that I am still learning to perfect.

I enjoyed your camera work very much. I was in the grand coulee last month.

Thank You. That is why I do it. I love working the camera. The Grand Coulee has always intrigued me. So much that we are still discovering about its origins.

Such a great place! Went to high school there in Coulee Dam. you picked the right time of year to go. tons of snakes out that way in the Summer. TONS!

Snakes were on my mind for sure. Figured still too cold for them to be active. I would like to see one someday but never over there enough in the hot weather.

Gorgeous area. (pun?) I took my kayak to nearby Deep Lake; nice.

I wanted to check out deep lake while at Dry Falls. Saving that one for another trip with more time.
