Welcome to Eduard (or rather a belated welcome as you produced this video a while back)! These are my favorite 1/48 scale kits and I have a coupe of 1/72 as well, even though PEP in that scale are a major challenge for my modest skills. You did a superb job on your first Eduard build. Hope to see more, and may I suggest considering some of their WWI kits? Cheers.
I am new to this hobby..... I have a problem with small bits and pieces. .... finger problem.... can you recommend another spitfire model in bigger scale.... thank's for your videos.... they are therapeutic to watch 😊
I've got the airfix 1/24 spitfire to build, it looks ok but is an old tooling so not the best fit or detail. Their 1/48 offerings are more recently tooled and have reasonable detail, but again, i'm sure that anything in the 1/48 scale range from eduard will be considerably better detailed

If you want to try something a bit different, the Eduard 1/72 Fokker D.VII is brilliant. What’s more, even though it’s a biplane, it does not require rigging. Suggestions for other 1/72 Eduard kits to build would be the MiG-21PF or MF, the F6F Hellcat, the MiG-15, or the Fw 190.
Nice work Matt! Looks nice and neat! Well done! As for Eduard, every new kit is great as this one, but watch out for older Eduard kits, as they are short run, thus not easy to build (sometimes it's closer to a catastrophe). In 1:72 scale you can't see lot of details, so I warmly suggest, if you want to use photo etch details, to try some 1:48 kits. It is more rewarding when you can see actual extra details. They offer some good range of Bf-109 models and Mig-21s in that scale. Also Eduard 1:48 Hellcsts, and Spitfires are excellent! It is the same thing as this Spit, but bigger.... It's metal (usually brass) sheets which have been exposed to UV light in specific ways (using various chemicals) then dipped in acid. The acid etches (or eats away) the areas that were exposed to light whilst leaving the protected areas intact. This method of making components is great for scale modellers as it allows really finely detailed parts to be created. @@EindbaasToad yup, same. Are the paints properly mixed before using them? Have you polished the airbrush needle? Any other fault with airbrush - does straight up water go through it without problems? Could lead to an underlying problem
@@ModelMinutes Yes, Yes, Not that I know off, yes.
Its not that i can't use them, I have to thin them with a few drops of water.
@@EindbaasToad hmmm, not sure 🤷♂️
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but what is "Photo Etch"?
It's metal (usually brass) sheets which have been exposed to UV light in specific ways (using various chemicals) then dipped in acid. The acid etches (or eats away) the areas that were exposed to light whilst leaving the protected areas intact. This method of making components is great for scale modellers as it allows really finely detailed parts to be created. If you look at my unboxing video on this model you will see a close up of the photo etch parts
The lord hath returned
haha
Hi do u think airfix should make more Japanese stuff like tanks and more planes. Because they only do on there website is the green Mitsubishi a6m2
And nice model American spitfire
Thanks! Airfix used to have a fair selection of japanese models in their range, but they are more on the legacy side. Of course, there are other companies out there who have other models
Amazing
Thanks
Hi Matt! I’ve recently got into building! But I’m really struggling on what brushes to use especially ones for the tiny parts! Could you recommend me any please :)
take a look at my amazon links - i'm pretty sure i've got some brushes listed on there
@@ModelMinutes just took a look, there’s no brushes :( , found the decal solution i’ve been looking for though! thanks :)
@@ezjoe9454 I use something like this smile.amazon.co.uk/dp/B074Z7SX2S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_JX14N3ZQNQP2YG28KBVJ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Guess who’s back?

I must say i own like 30 eduard kits and they are CHEAP well atleast here in Czech republic where you can get 1/72 profipack from 10-15 pounds and 1/48 from 15 up to 30 pounds for profipack
Yes, the value is crazy!
nice work!! i love tis kit. check out the Eduard spit in 1/48 its a charm to build.
Thanks, will do!
Man! Great video! I'm still trying my best to become mod worthy...sir!
:D
For the super glue buy loclite presision glue it has a much finer nozzle
thanks for the tip!
very nice
Thanks
How long have you been working on it?
this kit took about 3 weeks to build . . . then another 2 weeks to edit
What a talented modeller 😂
Haha! Oh you!
@matt's Second Channel
You sound a lot like model minutes, for some reason {-:
@@alfepalfe haha!
Matt have you built a Dakota and willys jeep kit and a b-17 and a baufighter
Just wondering
I’ve built a Willys jeep (video on my channel somewhere) and have the others in the stash
Same with my decals too
:)
I see I click I watch
haha thanks!
Eduard Mosquito!
Ooooo nice suggestion!
You don't need to buy a special '"moddelers super glue" (way to expensive). Instead use a cocktailstick or toothpick to dab a tiny amount of glue in places you need it.
yes, that's true - still need to get some cocktail sticks though haha!
@@ModelMinutes toothpicks can also be quite useful for adding tiny amounts of liquids and they also work as stir sticks.
Sharpened bit of sprue also works if you don’t have any toothpicks
i use a cocktail stick for the cyano glue matt bit easier
yeah i'll use that the next time i do PE :D
