I always delegate team training to my ex-manager (I tend to re-hire the existing manager as my assistant if they have play style (Tiki-Taka or Wing Play), then tweak the recommended training schedule accordingly. For international, however: Scouts are redundant, so I do let and NEED my assistant manager set up friendlies. I don't mind to delegate staff for initiating contracts or signings, as my teams tend to be loaded, but I must have the right to veto deals.
U don't need to take control of all contracts. I higher a technical director to take control of bringing in staff for u23 and u18 and a director of football for contracts in u23 and u18 respective managers take control of all training works wonders for me I only take control of 1st team responsibilities at the start then hand it over once I have shaped the team
@@dannytilley4878 which is an example of why I did the video haha, to explain how much money you can lose due to this. Your staff giving contracts to players you never have a future for etc But the key is to remember people can play how they wish so if you don’t agree and want to hand responsibility to them then of course
@@thenorthman1987 I wasn't being critical. I have found on all my saves that contracts to players were only given to required potential level of 3 as I can use 3 star potential later in there career as squad players to counter home grown quoters etc and in some cases these even got better over time aswell anyone below 3 didn't get a new deal
I do the same and I keep my backroom staff very limited as well. An AM, gk coach and a fitness coach. A scout (max 2) and a physio. All the rest you do not need anyway, so not having that saves money :) Keep up the good work Northman.
You should watch Zealand’s video on training where he shows data what works and what doesn’t work in training and what the best schedule is for development of players
I will check it out, as a former manager irl I find FM very very annoying when it comes to training as firstly it doesn’t work as it should comparing to irl and also it is just shit 😂 I found the assistant can do as good of a job as myself
@@thenorthman1987 youd be surprised how much a difference it makes to realizing potential ability. ofc it only helps if your playing with players that have more potential
Thank was always wanting to know what things is AI better than us doing in FM23, as it can be overwhelming trying to address all by ourselves. My worry is if having AI take care of team training would lead to more injury or unhappiness ?
A question.. My players from the U21 keep signing new contracts but i need the salary for my first team players. I think it is my Head youth staff that gives them the new contracts.. but when i look in the responsibility staff list, I have al responsabilities on transfer and contracts.. Someone know how to solve this problem? Ty allready!
thanks for the comment! so within your responsibilities in contracts and control you have set yourself to have all the control? if you could tweet me a screenshot or join the discord and share it, as I am assuming one instruction is missed which is making that happen
I don't use both.. i'm sorry! But i'm in game in Staff, Responsibilities, Transfer and contract and then Contracts. There I see 3 options: Contracts for my main team Contracts for my U21 team Contracts for my U18 team And for these 3 options i have the responsibility.. don't know what i could do more
@@bartvranckenBZR I know fm used to have a bug where this was happening but it should be fixed. It sounds like you have done everything right, when I get home this evening I will run through the contracts section and get back to you

Hey mate im struggling with barnsley in league 1 for good staff to come to the club, have you or any of your follower got a shortlist who to get in first season please. All the staff need sacking but i cant afford to as they only give me 100k budget to start 😅😅😅😅
In terms of staff for me in season one I always focus more on getting the high earners who I don’t need out, like a loan manager as a example 😂 In terms of staff to sign I would always look at one season deals as you look to improve, your reputation will grow so much season 1 that by the end of it you can get much better people so for now fill the coaching bench with basic hard workers who have good motivation and determination and anything above 10 for the type of coaching (defending attacking etc )
@@thenorthman1987 thanks for the reply. Frustrating!! I want Tika-Taka and passing. I’m guessing similar styles like Control Possession and Vertical Tika-Taka are the next best steps
Just signed 3 staff members based on the fact they're Tika-Taka and passing... ALL 3 changed upon signing for me, to 3 different styles... 1 control possession, 1 fluid counter-attack and 1 vertical tika-taka. WTF is going on 😆
Great tip about the check box for the backroom staff arranging friendly matches. Cheers
Thanks for watching, I appreciate it

Tossed ya a sub good luck with the channel, would love a video on your opinions on how to best use the mentoring system
I will look into it and see what I can put together
Thank you for the hints & tips
appreciate it thank you
You video emphasises well how quickly players will fail as a manager and get sacked if you don't take control of all contracts.

Hi all, does anybody know if there's a way to change a staff member's tactical style/playing style etc?
Not from what I have seen, even after years of playing a different style to him, they still have the old style

In game editors can only change the basic formations, the other formations on the other 3, 4, or 5 back formations list.
You gain a sub for the youth joke
