    Can someone please explain what happened to this train? Why is it not in service yet? And please, no Korea-Japan hate filled idiotic answers, I love both Japan and Korea.

      hemu-430x is just experiment train. Even its hemu-430x is stands for Highspeed Electric Multiple Unit - 430km/h eXperiment. Also capacity of the Korea's railroad is only 350km / h, so we don't need that high spec train yet.
      So, there is no plan to put this train in service yet. But since this train is much more energy efficient than KTX, Korea Rail Company(korail) bought EMU-250/300 which is based on hemu-430x. Emu-250 will start operating since 2020.

    기술시험용 시제차 치곤 정말 잘 만들어서 가능성을 잘 검증해줬고 지금 ktx이음이 이걸 토대로 운행중인걸 보니 말 그대로 시험성공이군요
    생각보다 외국인들도 많아서 영어로도 씁니다
    It's a prototype vehicle for technology development but, it has quite well made so that it proof the posibility of that railroad tech. The new KTX which named 이음 is based on that train cart. That can be called successful prototype vehicle.

      성만두 말씀하신 선두차량 그릴 안쪽에 구동을 위한 장치들이 있습니다. 나머지 4량과는 방식이 다른 추진시스템을 얹고 있습니다.

      열차 처음 출고 당시엔 400X였지만 점차 시운전 이후호 400을 넘어서면서 430X로 붙여진게 된겁니다.

      일본은 이미 자기부상고속열차도 개발하면서 시운전 시작했고 또한 신선 공사 기획도 준비 되있는 상황 이랍니다. 한국은 이걸 보고 뜨끔 하는게 없는지...!? 참고로 최고시속 500km/h 입니다~...
