You not taking the 2 minutes it takes to look up the fact that Mr. Sandman predates Mike Tyson's appearance in the NES Punchout really makes me doubt the rest of your analysis. Hell, they're both present separately in NES Punchout.
That's a massive mess up on my part. I genuinely mixed up Mr. Dream and Mr. Sandman what with their names both being associated with sleeping. Gotta check my facts better next time.
Small correction: Mr. Sandman as a character existed since the original Punch-Out!!! arcade cabinet in 1983, and was even an enemy in the 1987 game, 2 fights before Tyson.
Thank you for the kind words! I probably would have gotten closer to 20 minutes if I would've gotten footage for the Smash bros games but maybe it's best to save it for another video
i absolutely love the concept you have here! someone explaining in detail a niche topic whilst a third party with less information on it gives their honest initial reactions, it's really funny 😂 7:25
I appreciate it! The concept came when I realised how much I yap to my significant other about niche martial arts concepts. With the amount of infodumping I do daily I wonder how long she'll stay as a "less informed third party" 😅
It would be kinda kool to see a full length in depth video analysis of Steve from Tekken, breaking down his move set and fighting technique. Steve is one of my favorite characters so I'd watch that, He's up there with King and Jin/Devil Jin... But my favorite character is and always will be Brian Fury.
Putting it on the list of possible videos. I have something I' d like to do with Bryan too. As a long time kickboxing practicioner myself I gravitate strongly towards Bryan and Steve when playing Tekken
From what i know the training song from the wii cutscenes could be lost media? Since i have never seen the song without all the cutscenes sounds anywhere
I really enjoyed this. As someone who loves boxing and the Punch-Out franchise, it feels good to see more video about the topic. Especially since Little Mac’s animations and technique always irked me
Personally I've always loved the first punch out game even though I suck at it. It was great to see Mac's style get a little more fleshed out in the smash bros games. Saldy I couldn't include them in this one
@@rhysofsneezingdragon1758 wouldn't even be the most stereotypical thing with the italian fighter for Punch Out's arcade version being goddamn Pizza Pasta
Hajime No Ippo is one of my favorite anime series. I've shown it to one of my friends who has no connection to boxing and they enjoy it too because it's such a well made series.
@@MixedMartialAri I've only watched the first season since it was on Netflix. Getting access to the second season doesn't seem possible here in Sweden and I don't want to watch the third season ahead of the second. Maybe I'll look into getting a physical set.
If your friend is having trouble recording on the Switch, what he can do is save a replay, then convert that replay to a video in-game. That'll save the video to the Switch's micro SD card, which he can then copy to whatever else you need to put it on (assuming you have an SD card reader), no capture card required. I know a good chunk of his moves wouldn't make for practical boxing techniques, but the nature of Smash means he'll need to deal with opponents in every direction and not only in front of him like a normal boxing match so it's understandable why he has some of those moves. I think it'd also be worth looking at Super Punch Out - even though the hair color is different, that's still Little Mac. The wiki claims that it takes place after both the NES and Wii games, but there's no source for that so who knows. If that were true, it would imply that Aran Ryan somehow became normal after the Wii game, and I don't see that happening :p
O yeah in the live action trailer for punch out lil mac was portrayed by real life boxer paul magic man malignagggi i dont know if i spelled his name correctly
@@MixedMartialAri fair enough. If you did need any footage for super punch-out. I own the game. I could do a full playthrough and you could take clips from it. My 11 year old nephew got me back into it. As he beat Tyson at his age. Anyway let me know. It's no trouble.

it was a good analysis otherwise 🤷♂️

😐
@Isuskralj He didn't even lash out or anything. It was just flat criticism

I didn't know that. Thanks for the insight!
yeah I really don't know why everyone thinks Sandman was supposed to be him, they remember all the other boxers from the original
So glad to see this was not a +20 minute video. Short and to point (hah)
This looks really neat, wholesome, and engaging. Earned my sub

Mac has 9 moves you forgot he can duck if you hit down twice

2:10 so max Holloway basically

Not unless you make it a series

I haven't heard a clean version either. Might be possible it was never released outside of the game cutscenes themselves
Can't believe this channel isn't bigger. Great video!
There was a game on wii called rage of the gladiator that no one talks about. It controls basically like punch out

dude his pullback counter is crazy in smash
thank you.
You can also duck in NES Punch out.
Oh cool. Little Mac from Smash bros
I don't think Mac is a good boxer, he's a great survivalist though
The goat if we count Zallard1
ashita no Peak mentioned!!!!!!!!!!!!!
3:20 Aoki wildin
Could you do Ed from Street Fighter 6?
If I get my hands on the full moveset from someone then perhaps
it always looked weird to me the way little mac punches

you should cover a fictional boxer named Gaolang Wongsawat he is from an anime called "Kengan Ashura"
